Harry - Bristol tutor

Information About Harry:

Personal Description:

I'm a Cambridge graduate, and have been living in Bristol for a year now, working as a cycling instructor and doing some tutoring. I'm interested in music and outdoor pursuits, and education. I'm studying a postgraduate course in Housing at UWE at the moment but can fit work around my studies.

Teaching Experience:

After some voluntary work in India over the winter, I have been working in an English college in London, teaching English as a foreign language. I've been tutoring in Bristol for a year now, working with people aged 12 - 50 at various levels, mainly in French and English.

Tutoring Approach:

As a tutor you are generally supplementing another teacher's work, so it important to get up to speed on what that teacher is doing. Overall I would say my approach is fairly informal, based on identifying problem areas and going carefully through the basic ideas necessary to understand a particular teaching point. As such a tutor primarily provides support to the learner to help them follow their main course, and can give further work as necessary to clarify or expand on anything relevant.
