Information About Ruth:


Personal Description:

I am married with two grown up children. My elder daughter has completed university and has taken up a teaching post. My younger daughter is at university. I enjoy teaching and encourage children to participate in out of school activities such as sport, swimming and drama. I am a member of the senior leadership team and a long standing teacher governor.



Teaching Experience:

I am a teacher with 30+ years experience. I have taught across the primary age range and for the last twenty years have taught year 6 children which involves preparing them for Year 6 SATs. I teach all National Curriculum subjects and am aware of the requirements of the New Literacy and Numeracy Strategies.



Tutoring Approach:

As a qualified teacher I focus on the skills the child requires to enable them to reach their full potential. It is important to assess the child's current academic level in order to ensure progression. I like to take a positive approach to all aspects of learning and I feel that it is important that children enjoy their work and experience success.
