Personal Description:
I am a fully qualified instrumental teacher living in Leicester I am passionate about music and teaching and am very committed to each individual that I spend time with. I'm an enthusiastic musician and want to encourage and inspire new learners, those already learning and also those that want to revisit an old instrument.
Teaching Experience:
I have been playing the violin since the age of 6 where I began privately tutored. I have since enjoyed a rich musical life; playing in a number of orchestras, small groups and bands. I also studied at the Royal Northern College of Music where I gained a BMus(hons) as well as a PGCE teaching qualification with disctinction. I have taught a range of abilities and instruments, individuals and groups. I am able to teach violin, viola, cello, flute and piano and well as theory. I have enjoyed teaching in primary and secondary schools as well as private instrumental tuition.
Tutoring Approach:
I am an approachable teacher and am very personable. I am able to relate to people of all ages and genuinely care how they feel about their instrument and the way they learn. I have a range of teaching strategies and apply them according to each pupils needs. I am happy to have students learn at my house and am also able to tutor in the student's house. There is a possibility of teaching individuals or up to 4 at a time.
