Tutoring Approach:

I take time to assess the pupils level, by informal interview and gradually working through different problems with increasing difficulty levels. Most importantly, I make sure the learning experience is not stressful for the student.

The pupil/guardian has an important role in determining what will be covered, and when he is ready to move to the following topic. The most important aim is the satisfaction and confidence gained from having understood the topics of the day.

I make sure the student has a high success rates on the mathematical problems he must tackle, bt extending the level of difficulty within the reach of his capacities, and offering guidance in thinking and problem solving. I believe in the importance of the nature and timing of the feedback I give back to the student.

The student is encouraged to find, then to use, techniques to verify or evaluate the accuracy of his answers.
