Rebecca - Nottingham tutor

Information About Rebecca:

Personal Description:

Hello! I am a cheerful, creative, qualified primary school teacher and I love my job! I am hard-working, reliable and competant at my job. I enjoy being able to enthuse children into understanding areas of the curriculum that they find a challenge.

Teaching Experience:

I hold a BA Primary Education degree with Qualified Teacher Status. Throughout my time at university I taught in a range of primary schools in Sunderland. This offered me the opportunity to teach a broad spectrum of ages; from Reception to Year 6; I have also experienced the pressures of SATs testing! Having moved to Nottingham I now teach in an inner-city Junior School. I differentiate my teaching for a wide range of abilities as well as overcoming a varitey of language barriers. Within my degree I specialised in Special Educational Needs so am both familiar and confident at teaching children who find school a little tougher than most.

Tutoring Approach:

I aim to fill in the gaps of a child's basic understanding by adapting lessons to each individual child. Whether they are a visual, audio or kinesthetic learner will alter the approach I will take in teaching them. Teaching a child how to solve a problem, or grasp a difficult concept, is not enough; I help the child understand the problem by relating it to the world around them.

I like to keep a clear record of a child's progress and am happy to discuss a child's progress with parents/carers before or after each session.
