Fiona - Plymouth tutor

Information About Fiona:

Personal Description:

I graduated from Lancaster University in 2007, at which time I was a classroom volunteer and also worked in a nursery. I obtained a TEFL qualification from Lancaster University as well.
I completed my PGCE in schools in Plymouth and Cornwall, through University College Plymouth, St Mark and St John and achieves QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).

I am available for tutoring in person weekday afternoons/evenings and any time at weekends. During school holidays I am available at any time.

Teaching Experience:

I am head of Religious Studies in a secondary school at present, but I also have experience teaching History, Geography, Philosophy and Ethics and English as a Foreign Language. My degree in Sociology well equips me to teach sociology. I also minored in Law and Polictics at university, and I am more than happy to teach these subjects.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe tutoring offers the student a more personalised approach to learning and offers the student the opportunity to gain more from a subject. Tutoring would be tailored to meet the needs of the individual student and would compliment school-based learning. My approach to teaching is similar to that of tutoring; I like to help students relate to topics covered easily and use examples/stories to help them recall information and games/activities where appropriate to engage the learner and bring the subject to life.
