My approach depends entirely on the objective.
I have helped some clients set up and manage website marketing campaigns, I have helped 5th formers to understand what makes the web a powerful marketing tool and how best to harness it, and I have tutored some clients on web strategy. I can help with the technical as well as the theory behind it, but what I always do is explain everything in plain English.
