Information About Jennifer:
Personal Description:
I am a 22 year-old female, who has jsut graduated from the University of Glasgow with an honours degree in Mathematics and Business Management. I am starting at Jordanhill in August doing Secondary Mathematics teaching, therefore I am in posession of a Disclosure Scotland certificate.
During my university course I also studied Physics. During my high school education I took Maths and Physics to Advanced Higher Level and Geography and English to Higher level.
Teaching Experience:
I have had experience of tutoring whilst at school and during my university education. During my final year of university I also attended a local high school one afternoon a week as a classroom assistant in Mathematics classes.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe that everyone has a unique way of learning, making one-to-one tutoring vital in some cases. Education is about finding out how a person learns and trying to adapt a subject to this way of learning. Everyone has the ability to understand a subject if the right approach is taken.
I think setting breif homework exercises is also vital as repetition is one of the best ways to fully understand a certain subject/technique.
