Personal Description:
I am a Chartered Chemist with over ten years as a development, then senior chemist within a multinational company affiliated with the polymer industry.
I also have a lot of experience in the nuclear industry as a nuclear safety engineer.
This experience helps me to relate everyday examples of why a student should understand a particular concept.
Teaching Experience:
I do not have much teaching experience although I am comfortable talking to people and presenting information in my workplace. I have experience of teaching students 1 to 1.
Tutoring Approach:
I would start by doing a gap analysis in terms of present understanding of certain concepts and the curriculum requirements. I would tale more of a questions and answer approach by feeding in little tests to measure how the information is sinking in.
With difficult topics we might decide to concentrate on those only for a while so that basic concepts are learnt, and not lost over time.
I will work the pupils quite hard and expect a commitment in return but I think I can provide a knowledgeable and unique approach to learning which should be more riveting that a classroom environment.
