Personal Description:
During my PhD at Cambridge in Physics (1995) and my university research career, I have helped students achieve outstanding results in Maths and Physics.
I have enjoyed tutoring since 2008. I am involved in venture capital work commercialising technology from universities in the UK and US.
I am also an author and enjoy working with all ages on English Composition and Conversational English.
Teaching Experience:
My teaching experience in Maths, Physics, and English composition was gained in universities in Cambridge, Nottingham and Sheffield, as both a student and post-doctoral researcher. I have been tutoring since 2008.
I have helped many students to gain confidence in Maths,and conquer the fear of algebra.
Working together, many students and adults achieve high marks and win competitions in Essay and Report Writing.
YOUNG PEOPLE 11+, PRE A-LEVEL: BIOLOGY, HISTORY, ENGLISH, PHYSICS
In typical responsive lessons, I am happy to help increase your understanding of Biology, History, English, and other subjects. I help with working through the problems and discussing them and the bigger picture. The topics become more real and easier to remember for exams. Bigger trends are discovered and the entire field starts to make sense.

I work with students and adults on TEST PREPARATION and have achieved excellent results in the following:

* Aptitude tests in the workplace for career advancement
ADULTS:
My work with adults on CONVERSATIONAL ENGLISH has been praised for being interesting and creative, and is tailored to the individual. This could include visits to a museum or art gallery to discuss what we see, role play, story telling/writing, or even singing (a secret to achieving good pronunciation).
A strong area is Business MASTER'S DEGREES, using my understanding of business, and expertise in essay and dissertation writing:

* Interpreting & presenting data: to engage yourself & the reader
* Brainstorming: forming a strong thesis
* Organising the dissertation for a clear & persuasive argument
* The Look: making sure the style meets university requirements
