Personal Description:

I am a fully qualified Secondary Mathematics Teacher with a degree in Engineering. I have always had a passion for learning and teaching mathematics (Pure and Applied).



Teaching Experience:

As part of my PGCE training I gained the experience of teaching in three secondary schools (Elton High, Bury- Sharples High, Bolton and Falinge Park High School, Rochdale), Post-16 (Canon Slade, Bolton) and Primary (Elmswood Primary, Middleton)
I am aware of expectations, typical curricula and teaching arrangements in the Key Stages or phases before and after the ones I am trained to teach (Primary and Post-16)
Presentation skills, Classroom and Behaviour Management, Effective Teaching/Learning, and precise subject knowledge were all core elements of my teacher training. The basic principle behind this intensive training was to be reflective and analytical in approach to self development.



Tutoring Approach:

I have high expectations of my tutees and aim to build a successful relationship centred on teaching and learning. I aim to differentiate my teaching methods to meet the needs of my pupils.
I systematically monitor and assess the tutees that I teach, regularly giving them immediate and constructive feedback to support their learning. I involve tutees in reflecting on, evaluating and improving their own performance.
