Information About Gavin:
Personal Description:
I am a full time Teaching Fellow at the University of Bath. I teach human and exercise physiology and have a specialist interest in human physiology, bioinformatics and genetics.
I spent 4 years working as a Personal Trainer and Nutritional Advisor and then moved into teaching. I have been teaching at the University of Bath since 2005. As well as teaching I am the Programme Manager of the National Fitness Academy, also at the University of Bath.
Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching since 2005 and have taught across a range of programmes from diplomas and certificates to BSc degrees. I currently teach human and exercise physiology to foundation degree and bachelors degree students. I also teach level 2 certificate in Fitness Instruction and level 3 certificate in Personal Training.
I am very comfortable teaching students in human biology, physiology, sport and exercise science and health sciences at GCSE, A Level and degee level.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe students only truly achieve a subjects understanding when they are willing to put the time and effort in needed to become autonomous. Once a student has read around a subject area then the tutor can assist by clarifying ideas or assisting with making sense of more complex problems.
