Esther - Liverpool tutor

Information About Esther:

Personal Description:

I have recently graduated from Oxford University with a 2.i degree in English Language and Literature. I am passionate about my subject and love reading and creative writing. I am currently pursuing further study at Liverpool University and enjoy outdoor pursuits, rowing, cooking and travelling. Whilst at Oxford, I was Welfare Officer and student representative for my college, organised events such as Freshers week and volunteered for many student societies. I like working with many different types of people and am enthusiastic and reliable.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught English at a University in China, worked in orphanages in India and Africa and on many summer camps with children and young people in the UK. I have much experience in the care sector both as a support worker for learning disabled and mentally ill adults, and as a care assistant for the elderly and infirm. As a support worker I have also taught basic life skills and numeracy and literacy.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in encouraging many different learning styles and in accommodating the various educational needs of the individual student. I am patient, inclusive and supportive and professional in my preparation for lessons. Having recent experience of the requirements for GCSE and A-Level I appreciate the work needed to attain high grades and would be committed to ensuring my student's progress.
