Personal Description:
I have been teaching English for 10 years, I'm now part time and have two young sons. I enjoy teaching English to all abilities and ages.
Teaching Experience:
As well as teaching English across all key stages and abilities for 10 years, I've been a key stage 3 and literacy Coordinator, Second in department (to cover maternity leave), Gifted and Talented coordinator, PGCE mentor, AQA examiner (GCSE literature, foundation tier), and Assistant Head of years 10, 11 and Sixth form. I have organised and participated in numerous school visits and I have run extra curricular clubs. I love my job, I find it rewarding and enjoyable.
Tutoring Approach:
I'm a firm but fair practitioner with high expectations. I get good results and try to allow the curriculum to be easily accessible and clear to all students, who know what is expected of them. Assessment criteria and what the examiner is looking for are also key components to my teaching. I am happy to offer help and guidance with Coursework, exam texts and preparation for entrance examinations.
