Personal Description:

I am 33 years old and live in Dundee with my girlfriend and my 1 year old son. I have a passion for teaching, music and holidays abroad. In my early career I worked as an engineer and spent some time overseas. I am a very keen musician and spend as much time as I can behind a kit of drums or recording school bands in an after school club. I have a focused mind for Physics but an approachable personality that especially helps when children are unsure of their abilities or are simply shy about one to one learning.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked full time as a qualified Physics teacher in schools in Edinburgh (2 years) and now Dundee.

Tutoring Approach:

I am focused on allowing my students to succeed in their exams. However, the method I use to achieve this strongly depends on developing a sound understanding of Science/Physics concepts and an enjoyment of overcoming the problems posed by them. I work on study habits, exam technique, thinking skills and problem solving techniques. A central aim of all my tutoring is to develop the students commitment to take responsibility for their own learning, so that we can build on prior successes.

• BSc Hons in Physics with Environmental Science
• Diploma in Politics
• Postgraduate Diploma in Education
