Information About Violaine:


Personal Description:

I'm a french woman, with extensive pedagogical skills to teach. I used to work as an urban planner in France, but my studies and experience lead me towards teaching to adults. I have a very good knowledge of both French and Spanish literature and civilisation.
Since in the UK, I have studied to become a teacher of French as a foreign language, which I achieved in 2009.



Teaching Experience:

I was teaching to young children (12-17) French language as a volunteer in France. I'm used to adapt myself to the request of the tutee.

Since arrived in the UK, I am currently teaching both French and Spanish:
- through collective evening courses for adults, as a professional
- providing private tuition
- in High School when an opportunity arises
I am as well employed by the Council to work as a support language assistant in Colleges, High schools (comprehensive, grammar, independent schools) and Primary schools (local schools, prep schools), which makes me well aware of the curriculum and exams conditions.



Tutoring Approach:

I'm very flexible and I can adapt to anybody. Following the European Frame to teach foreign languages (working with pragmatical objectives), using most often targetted language, I insist as well on the structural aspect of French and Spanish languages, keys to achieve a good level in speaking, understanding and writing.

Qualifications:

  • DAEFLE from the Alliance française (to be teacher of French as a foreing language)
  • Master's degree in social sciences in France
  • BA in Spanish, obtained in France
