Rhys - Willesden tutor

Information About Rhys:

Personal Description:

I am a graduate psychologist who comes from a family of doctors. I have always found science both fascinating and easy. For as long as I can remember I have enjoyed helping others to see ideas in science more clearly.

My other passion is the English Language, its history and use. To me the English language is both a precision toolbox and a versatile paint-box. As well as reading a great deal I write poetry and short stories, and go to the theatre whenever I can afford it.

My other hobbies include Social History, surfing the internet, and trying to keep up with new developments in Science.

Teaching Experience:

I have from time to time over the last 20 years supplemented my income by tutoring. This includes helping to pay for my University degree by teaching Maths, Statistics, various sciences, and essay writing techniques. I also spent 6 months teaching job seekers how to compile a C.V. and write business letters.

Tutoring Approach:

I prefer, where possible, to teach ideas (and how to use them) rather than facts. By encouraging the pupil to use these new ideas they gain not only a better understanding of the subject, but also gain the confidence to learn new concepts and skills.
