Personal Description:
I am a physics graduate from Cambridge University. I worked as an accountant for 5 years, including a stint for a well-known film distribution company. I also have a masters degree in Bioinformatics from Birkbeck.
Teaching Experience:
I have been tutoring maths, physics and chemistry privately for 10 years now, at GCSE and A-level. I have also taught a few homeschooled students from pre-GCSE all the way to A-level.
Tutoring Approach:
Flexible and very student-oriented. In our first session we would discuss the student's particular requirements and difficulties, and make adaptable lesson plans.
I believe it is important not just to know HOW to do something, but also WHY it is done that way. I also believe in teaching every single topic in mathematics, within its wider context. You will not only learn dozens of different techniques, to be applied in this or that module, but you will learn how they all fit together and what their importance is in the larger maths world. You'll get plenty of practice in past exam questions!
