Personal Description:
I have an English Language and Literature BA Hons degree and have achieved high A level grades in French and Spanish.
I tutored a secondary school girl in French several years ago and she was able to improve her exam marks by 5% as a result
Teaching Experience:
As above and I also help in a classroom assistant capacity in an after-school Kumon centre whereby I listen to pupils of all ages whilst they read excerpts to me and correct any mistakes and mark their efforts accordingly. I also check parents' marks from their child's homework and perform some oral maths addition and subtraction as well as providing general assistance when the need arises.
Tutoring Approach:
Patient but firm if I feel that the child is trying to go off at a tangent and start talking about non work-related topics.
I give an abundance of praise and don't criticise if the child gets a question wrong but merely explain where they went wrong and encourage them to get it right the next time
