Information About Jodie:

Personal Description:

I run an educational performing arts company and work with ages from 5 up to adults. I have a degree in Drama and regularly still perform, write scripts, teach performing arts, elocution, acting, singing and can teach music theory for singing. I am also currently studying for my Masters in Cooperative and Social Enterprise Management.

I have 7 years of experience in tutoring outside of my company. This includes English and drama from primary age through to A level and support with essay writing. I have extended experience of working with the national curriculum and have worked with students to improve their grades ready for exams. I have a high success rate with students and also have extended experience of working with individuals with learning and behavioral difficulties.

Teaching Experience:

I have a level 4 teaching qualification in Preparing to Teach in Lifelong Learning Sector, and have over seven years of experience teaching English one to one, drama in groups and as a workshop facilitator, teaching Portuguese to beginners and teaching English as a foreign language. I also have experience of one to one audition training, and elocution lessons. With over 10 years of experience in performing arts, I have extensive experience in developing teaching projects, performing arts syllabuses for those not in education which regularly incorporate literacy and some numeracy.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is both practical and theoretical. Working together with the student to work on their weakest areas making the tuition flexible to their needs and original. I use creative techniques to help students remember what they are learning.
