Information About Peter:

Personal Description:

A Member of the Association for Psychological Science (MAPS), a CCC Registered Counsellor/ Psychotherapist and a Member of the Indepedent Practitioners Network (MIPN); I have over fifteen years experience in the Third (Voluntary) Sector, in excess of six years teaching practice behind me and have managed my own private practice for more than a year.

Teaching Experience:

With a background in educating adults and adolescents, including people with Learning Difficulties, I have lectured in a college for nearly four years and provided teaching around citizenship and PSE in Secondary Schools for around three years prior to this. My theraputic training and experience, based heavily in psychology & criminology, has led to my working with the prison & probation services for the last five years and I provide assmessment regarding parenting skills and child development within a residential family unit.

Tutoring Approach:

Whether it be students on placement within my work, adults in education, young people at school or clients coming to me for therapy I believe it is important to begin with what the student needs; to develop an approach that best suits their learning style; be that visual, auditory or practical activity led.
