Paul - Swindon tutor
Information About Paul:
I am currently employed as the Head of Biology at a school in Oxfordshire. Beyond work, my main interests are local history and natural history. Recently, I produced nine books and was elected a Chartered Fellow of The Society of Biology (C.Biol., F.S.B.).
Between 1995 and 1998, I worked as Lecturer-in-Charge of 'A' Level Biology and 'A' Level Environmental Science at the Royal Forest of Dean College in Gloucestershire. During that same period, I was employed as a Marker for 'A' Level Biology by the Associated Examination Board (A.E.B.).
Between 1998 and 2000, I worked as a Housemaster at Bethany School in Kent where I shared pastoral responsibility for forty boys aged between 11 and 18 years. I also taught 'A' Level Biology and both the Physics and Chemistry components of G.C.S.E. Double Award Science.
In 2000, I left England to take-up a position at the British School in the Netherlands. For the next three years, I taught 'A' Level Biology and G.C.S.E. Physics (Higher Tier).
Between 2003 and 2012, I was employed by the Department for Education and seconded by them to work at the European School of Karlsruhe in Germany. I was Head of Biology across the five language sections at the school between 2007 and 2010.
I am a dynamic teacher with a proven track-record for infusing my students with a passion for Biology. I begin each learning experience by examining existing knowledge and then I devise tasks and activities that will enable learners to assimilate scientific notions. I am a patient and humorous individual, and I believe that learning should be challenging but fun!
