Personal Description:

I am a motivated and qualified teacher. I am currently teaching A Level Mathematics and Physics and really enjoy being able to help individual learners succeed and reach their potential.

Having studied Physics at degree level, I have a deep interest in Physics and Mathematics and aim to share my enthusiasm with others. This led me to train as a qualified teacher.

My goal in tutoring is to help learners understand and succeed in subjects that they might find difficult (or even boring!) Maths and Physics can be difficult subjects, but I strongly believe that through hard work and good tuition, anyone can grasp them.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching and tutoring for the past 6 years. This has included GCSE, A Level and University level Physics and Mathematics.

The majority of my tuition has included one-to-one sessions, specifically with students that were preparing for exams (GCSE and A Level). I worked for several years as a University teaching assistant in first year Physics and Mathematics courses. I am now working as a teacher in a Sixth Form where I continue to gain experience and knowledge in teaching and exam preparation.

Tutoring Approach:

My personal philosophy is that learners need to build their understanding from the basics up. In order to do this, many learners need a personalised study plan that meets their needs and helps them improve in the key areas they have difficulty in.

Once the basics have been properly understood, real exam preparation can take place. This includes forming revision plans and working through revision resources (like revision guides). Finally, a large amount of practice is needed with past exam questions, focussed on the areas the learner finds most difficult.
