Sarah - Staines tutor
Information About Sarah:
Personal Description:
I am a Newly Qualified female Teacher from Egham. I am a positive role model and motivated teacher, keen to establish a safe environment for my pupils. I am very flexible in my work, able to set challenging but achievable expectations for my pupils and believe in the use of praise as a motivational tool.
In my spare time I am keen to keep active; with hiking and camping expeditions being of interest to me. I am a keen traveller and have been fortunate to visit a number of countries and experience different cultures in recent years. I thoroughly enjoy discovering new places and encountering new experiences. I spend much of my time socialising with friends and spending time with my nephews.
Teaching Experience:
After spending four years at University studying for BA ITT in Primary Education with Advanced Specialist Elective of English, I have had teaching experience in Key Stage 1 and 2. I am experienced with planning and teaching lessons to suit children's differing needs and abilities; and strive to offer children with the opportunities to achieve their full potential. Having taught pupils in Year 2 and Year 6, I am fully qualified and experienced to prepare pupils for their Sats exams.
Tutoring Approach:
Being my first private tutoring experience, I would like to offer a first "getting to know you" session for free. This will give your child the opportunity to find out if they like the way that I work, can understand my way of teaching and like my sense of humour. It will enable us to discuss what they need to work on, highlighting your child's needs, abilities and interests; thus enabling me to prepare for future sessions.
Together we will consider what they are able to do and those areas that they need further assistance with. In order to support your child in achieving their full potential, I will use a range of resources and visual aids to support their learning. We will participate in motivating games and activities, encouraging your child to develop independence and confidence in particular areas of weakness. I will keep my tutoring very informal, encouraging your child to approach me with any worries or questions that they may have and encouraging their engagement in the activities I provide them with.
