Personal Description:
I recently graduated with a 2:1 in MEng Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London, and am now completing a gap year before commencing work as an actuary for EY in September. Maths and Chemistry were fundamental to my degree and are subjects I have always enjoyed. I am very friendly and easy going and believe that my passion for, as well as strength in these subjects, will allow me to provide valuable tutoring support.
Teaching Experience:
I have previously tutored year 9 students in science and GCSE and A Level students in Maths and Chemistry. These experiences were very rewarding and allowed me to adapt my style and approach so that my future tutoring sessions could be as effective as possible.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach is to be encouraging and motivating, and ensure students feel comfortable in their learning environment. I am relaxed but make sure any difficulties students have are dealt with in depth and not simply brushed over. In order to understand complex ideas, I feel it is very important for students to have a sound knowledge in the basic concepts first, so they do not feel overwhelmed when difficult concepts arise. I will help them to achieve their full potential by increasing their confidence and helping them to not only understand their subjects better, but possibly even enjoy them more too!
