My first language is English, I am also extremely fluent in written and spoken Mandarin, Malay, Hokkien and understand basic Cantonese, French.

My understanding of mathematics is fuelled by self-interest since young;started taking part in Mathematical Olympiads at the age of 9, I constantly represented my school and country for mathematics competitions. I was offered many scholarships by the Singaporean government, private institutions and private firms to study due to my achievements. I won Silver, Bronze medals for various Mathematical Olympiads; Gold Medals for Canadian Euclid Math competition; 7 High Distinctions from Australian Math Competitions, New South Wales Math Competition etc.

I am very confident that I can help tutees meet their goals.

Teaching Experience:

4 years experience in teaching Mathematics, Further Mathematics for Cambridge A-levels.
4-5 years experience in teaching Mathematics, Additional Mathematics and Physics for O-levels.
2 months experience in teaching kids aged 7-12 in a private mental arithmetic centre.

Tutoring Approach:

I always believe students tend to lose focus in class or forget what was taught because:
1) Peers.
2) Lecturers teaching too quickly, assuming everyone has similar absorption capacity, or that everyone has their experience.
3) They know 'how to do it' but they don't understand the concept behind it.

Hence, I would prefer classes to be carried out in small groups, or ideally, one to one. Also, I will teach students from a viewpoint of a student rather than that of an expert, unless students show great potential or interest, I will then introduce challenging questions and concepts. I will explain every formulae that is in syllabus briefly so that students first understand how does the formulae work, which will help them a lot in remembering and when to apply them (from past experience).

A small test will be carried out to judge students' level at the first lesson, I will then have a small chat with them to understand which parts they're weak in, what kind of problems they usually face, what their requirements or aims are to ensure we get on track towards the correct direction
