Information About Steve:

Personal Description:

Primarily I am employed as an Automotive Engineer, and have been since September 2011. Before this I was reading for a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering which I obtained from Cardiff University.
I have been tutoring Maths since I was studying for my Mathematics A-level in sixth form, and all through my University studies, and now that I have settled into my new surroundings would like to get back into tutoring Maths.
For my Mathematics A-Level I averaged 98% across all six exams (Core 1,2,3,4 Mechanics 1,2), and the classification of my Mechanical Engineering degree (which consisted copious amounts of Maths) was a First Class (with Honours).

Teaching Experience:

My tuition experience began while I was in sixth form studying for my A-levels. I started out tutoring two primary school children who were having difficulties with maths, and within a few weeks had began tutoring a few more individuals who were preparing for their GCSE examinations, all the while I was studying for my Maths A-Level exams.
Throughout the years I was reading for my degree I tutored several GCSE level pupils (who had been given my details by previous tutees) nearly all of whom achieved the highest grade possible.
Additionally, I have experience of Maths Tuition through the Welsh medium (as many of my previous tutees were sitting their exams in Welsh).

Tutoring Approach:

My approach can be made flexible to the needs of the tutee, focusing on problem areas or preparation for particular exams.
Typically I will use questions from previous examination papers as examples with which to build an understanding of the subject as well as prepare the tutee for the format of the exam which they are studying for. I believe the most important thing is for the tutee to understand how to solve the problem.
