Information About Ellen:


Personal Description:

I am a 35 year old qualified teacher, who is enthusiatic about all areas of the curriculum and supporting children in their learning journey.
I have a particular interest in English but enjoy teaching all other areas of the curriculum too.



Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching in the classroom for seven years. I have had a variety of posts, teaching many children from different backgrounds and with different learning styles.
I have experience teaching children from five to eleven, and I also work with children up to Year eight in my current post.
I am the Learning Support Co-ordinator at my place of work as well as Year One class teacher, which enables me to have a greater insight into different learning and teaching styles, and support the learning of a diverse range of children.



Tutoring Approach:

I will direct each session towards a clear learning objective, and plan various activities to support and consolidate this. I believe that every child has uniques learning styles, and I will endeavour to plan sessions to appeal to these. Children learn best when they are fully enaged, and I will plan sessions to appeal to any strengths or particular interests of each child.
I will build a good working relationship with each student, as children work best when they are comfortable in a situation.
I hope that the pupils I support will have great enjoyment and success as a result of receiving tuition from me.
