Information About Sarah:

Personal Description:
I am an enthusiastic young teacher (or so I like to think, that's the young part!). At 27, I have been teaching three years and previous to that have worked in industry for Marks & Spencer at their head office. Gaining experience outiside the classroom before entering it; I feel, has given me a more rounded approach to my teaching. Having only trained 3 years ago, I am privy to the most recent pedagogical approaches in teaching and feel this aides me to get the best from my students.

Outside the classroom, I enjoy spending my time watching most sports, going to the theatre and cinema, reading, cooking and exploring new places.

Teaching Experience:
I currently teach in a Catholic secondary school in Ickenham, West London, where I teach English/Drama/Media Studies across KS3, 4 and 5.

Tutoring Approach:
As every student is individual and has their own needs; I try to personalise my tutoring as much as possible in order to target the exact areas that a child wants to improve and can take the form of revision or brand new learning. As a year 11 form tutor, I understand the pressures of preparing for exams and can build a tutoring programme to suit you. I have an excellent relationship with all of my tutees and regularly tutor them during lunch and after school.

I will tutor for a maximum of 2 hours in any one session and up to a maximum of 3 sessions a week.

Qualifications:

PGCE English and Drama - Institute of Education

BA Hons English Literature and Drama and Theatre Studies - Roehampton University

A Level - English/Sociology/Drama
