Personal Description:
My name is Marta and I am from Spain, I studied mathematics degree and I hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and Masters in Education.

Teaching Experience:

I am a dedicated teacher with ten years of teaching experience specialising in Maths, Sciences and Spanish. I have worked as a teacher in a tutoring academy with large groups of children of different ages and needs and as a private tutor supporting individuals and groups of pupils.

Tutoring Approach:

I like giving students the best education and, at the same time, encourage them to develop their skills, knowledge and
confidence. I am a hardworking, patient and creative teacher able to simplify challenging concepts into fun and memorable ideas for my students.

As a private tutor, I plan lessons according to my students' ability, always identifying their individual learning needs. I evaluate students' progress with tests to determine improvement areas and I keep parents updated on progress. I also prepare students for exams and meet academic goals. As a tutor I also help my students develop study skills and organization techniques to help improve their academic performance.

Personal Description:
Hi, my name's Chris and I provide a guitar tuition service in and around Worcester. I offer both acoustic and electric guitar lessons for beginner and intermediate students of all ages. I teach a variety of styles and can tailor lessons to your own musical interests so that you're not only learning the music you love, but developing other essential skills in a relevant musical context.

Teaching Experience:

I have 12 years experience playing guitar and hold a joint-honours degree in music.

Tutoring Approach:

In addition to teaching you how to play the guitar, I can offer expertise in other areas of music. Having spent three years studying music at university, and being a writer myself, I can assist you with your own compositions, arrangements and songs. Likewise I can help with the sometimes precarious art of accompanying yourself as a singer! The focus of lessons is up to you, though equally if you're unsure of exactly what you'd like to learn I can offer plenty of options. As a patient and considerate individual my lessons tend to be relaxed but highly productive.

Guitar lessons can be arranged at times to suit. I'm generally available on weekday afternoons and evenings but feel free to contact me to check my current availability. I teach at my family home in the Barbourne area of central Worcester but I am also willing to travel within Worcester and to nearby surrounding areas of Worcestershire. For this service I charge an additional fee to cover the cost of transport and travel time, this is 5 within Worcester and 10 for Droitwich and Malvern.

My rate is 15 per half hour, however longer lessons are perfectly possible. For more information, or to arrange a lesson please feel free to contact me.

Personal Description:
Its revision time! If you are looking for assistance, I'm here to help you. I can assess your assignments and help to restructure and sharpen them to maximise your mark! I enjoy helping students to achieve their goals and I appreciate and understand the difficulties they face in their studies. I like to encourage students to discuss any area they find challenging as that is the way to improvement. I have an LLB with 1st Class Honours, an LLM with Merit and have won several prizes for academic achievement. I am therefore very familiar with the methods, skills and approach necessary for success! I can help you plan, structure and improve your in-course assignments and exam technique too.

Teaching Experience:

I am an experiended Lecturer in Law at university and pre-university level, and have taught students of varying academic backgrounds and abilities. I tutor the following LLB subjects: Criminal Law, European Law, Tort, Constitutional Law, Equity and Trusts, and Land Law as well as the AQA and OCR A level Law syllabus. I welcome students studying for CILEX and other qualifications as well. I also tutor students in legal writing skills.

I have lived in South East Asia for many years and am also an experienced teacher of English as a Second language.

Tutoring Approach:

This is what recent students have said about my tutoring approach:

"Laura's kind and reassuring nature made the sessions really enjoyable as I felt confident to ask her anything and not worry about sounding silly"- Jessica - LLB Law - obtained First Class Honours 2014

"You are a phenomenal tutor, and a lovely kind woman! Thank you" Charlie - A1 and A2 AQA Law - obtained A and A* in A1 and A2 law modules 2014.

Your sessions will be tailored to suit you! You decide how and what you wish to learn and I will tailor a program to fulfill those needs. If you need revision assistance and preparation help for upcoming A level Law examinations, I can assist you. I am friendly, patient and very supportive. I conduct tuition by offering you detailed feedback on any assignment or problem questions you prepare, or clarifying any areas or points of Law which you find difficult to grasp. This is time and cost effective for both you and me as there is no traveling involved and we can participate in our sessions from the comfort of our own homes.

I live in Great Malvern most of the time, where I am available for home tuition.

Teaching Experience:

Tutoring Approach:

I specialise in working with under confident pupils who need to 'home in' on their skills to get a better grade and with those who need to understand a particular area of their studies to improve their grade.

Personal Description:
I grew up in the UK and then worked in Indonesia for 10 years, teaching Indonesian scholars on pre-departure academic programs. I also taught cross-cultural and study skills courses. After Indonesia, I moved to Australia, where I worked at two universities in Brisbane, the University of Queensland and Queensland University of Technology. More recently I have worked on Exeter and Bath University's pre-sessional program. I'm a friendly, kind and patient person with a good sense of humour and I love teaching.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching for 20 years, mainly in the UK, Australia and Indonesia. I have experience working with English language learners at all levels and particularly at the university level. I can prepare students before their academic study or can assist them when they have already started university.
I am also very experienced in exam preparation. Most of my work has been on IELTS preparation courses (I used to be an IELTS examiner) but also on FCE preparation programs. I currently teach students in groups and one-to-one and I am available for Skype classes.

Tutoring Approach:

I think it's important to listen to students and identify their individual needs. I try and see them as they are, without judgment and I also encourage them to see the facts about their language learning, rather than their opinions. Many students say they are 'bad students' and this does not help their learning. So I show them a different path where they can look at the specifics of what they are doing and how they can improve their skills step by step. This makes them feel better about themselves and their studies. It also gives them responsibility for their own learning.
I also bring humour into the classroom as I feel laughter is very important to the learning process. Some students have said that my classes are 'like being in a family' and I think that's a lovely compliment.

Personal Description:
I practised as a Solicitor, specialising in Criminal Law for some 18 years, having attained a 2:1 Combined Honours LLB in Law and Politics, followed by the Professional Qualification - 6 of those years were running my own sole practice.
My original career plan was to teach, and so having undertaken my Professional Graduate Diploma of Education., I have contracts to teach Law and History subjects, at varying levels, including the Levels 3 and 6 Professional CILEX Law qualification, to different age groups. This leaves me time to offer a more individually tailored service to students requiring extra help as the exam season approaches.
My particular subject area is Law, from Level 3 to Level 6.
A Level and Undergraduate Law tutoring in litigation based subjects are my specialities - especially Criminal Law / Contract / Tort / Employment

Teaching Experience:

- Level 6 Law for The Institute of Legal Executives Professional Practice Qualification
- Level 3 (A Level standard) Business Law in Accountancy Professional Practice
- Level 3 History (A Level standard - Access to Higher Education [Teaching] Course
- Level 3 Law and Business
- Level 3, Year 1 Diploma in Law - Tort / Crime / Contract / Employment subjects and Preparing /Organising /Writing/ Directing Mock Trials
In summary, I teach law to 16-18 year olds and professionals, trainee accountants, and working paralegals, as well as History and Health subjects to students progressing to university

Tutoring Approach:

Assessment and curriculum requirements of the relevant course are paramount to ensure the student knows what the examining / awarding body expects in order to achieve. Once this is clear, the student can then begin to enjoy the learning through scenarios and stories
Review of learning, by inter-linking new topics with old, and use of examples and scenarios built and developed from experience, enables the student to recall and use what they know
Every student has an individual way of learning, and tapping into that is essential for transferring knowledge. Advice on examination technique, and the expectations of coursework are often neglected in mainstream teaching, yet are vital to qualification, and the use of knowledge.
I have a strong belief that tutees often overestimate the amount of paid tutoring they need, especially with the wealth of resources available, and with the appropriate guidance, the cost effectiveness of individual teaching and advice can surprise - in any case my charges are kept low, because I enjoy the work.
I'm happy to provide tuition at the tutees home, and only make a charge 12 per lesson for the return travel - that includes travel time and expense within a radius of 20 miles - learning should be fun as well as affordable, because if it's hard work, it's hard to remember.

Personal Description:
I am a German national and have lived in England since 2003. I am a wife, a mother, a Marketing Manager and a German Tutor.

I always loved teaching and have a passion for languages, which is why I love to teach German on all levels - from beginners to advanced, for leisure, school or business needs.

Teaching Experience:

I have completed a course in teaching German as a Foreign Language at the Goethe Institute in 2012 and have been working as a tutor since 2011.

I have also worked with many international colleagues in Germany who had limited German knowledge and therefore have a great understanding of the problems arising for English Speakers learning the German language.

Tutoring Approach:

I firmly believe that learning a new language should be fun. Whilst grammar is very important - especially in a grammar rich language like German - it needs to be part of the students ability to express himself.

Focus of my teaching is therefore the ability to speak, understand and generally communicate in German. Grammar is an important part of this, but rather than focusing on learning the rather comprehensive rule book, I believe that students get better results (both in real life as well as in exams) by learning the grammar through use of the language.

This can happen with the help of authentic German texts as well as games and varying and interesting exercises.

I can teach using your own course books or the course books that I have.

The focus of teaching can be on grammar, conversation or somewhere in the middle depending on your needs.

Personal Description:
My name is George, I am twenty-one years old and am currently a pre-final-year student of French and Spanish (BA) at the University of Southampton (I will begin final year in September 2014). My level of competence is higher in Spanish, due to my having spent the last nine months living in Spain on the 3rd Year Erasmus Exchange, a compulsory part of my degree. My written and spoken competency in Spanish is high (firm C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference). In French it is slightly lower, but still of professional standard in writing - last semester I achieved a firm passing mark in a final-year medical, judicial and computational Spanish-to-French and French-to-Spanish translation module at the Universidad de Alicante, in which I was the only student who wasn't a native speaker of either of the languages. As for my Spanish, I have also spent the last six months living with my Spanish girlfriend, who doesn't speak English. She is very well-spoken and I have adopted her style of speech during my time here.

I have a total of ten GCSEs all with grades A*-B, one AS level grade B in Computer Science and three A-grade A levels in Spanish, French and Economics. All of these were achieved during my time at The King's School, Chester (2004-2011).

I enjoy relaxing with my friends, many kinds of music, videogaming and following the world of rowing - I am a competent coxswain for the University rowing club, a sport I took up while at King's. I am generally a relaxed kind of guy to be around, easy to get on with, and pride myself in my ability to "take things easy" and not get stressed.

While living at home with my parents this summer I will have my car and am willing to travel reasonable distances to tutor.

Teaching Experience:

I have no previous teaching experience as such, short of helping my younger brothers pass their GCSE maths. When I understand something well I have no difficulty explaining it to others in a clear manner. I don't know whether it counts in my favour, but I also managed to teach my middle-aged co-workers at my old job in retail how to use the new digital till system - a task far harder than it sounds!

Tutoring Approach:

I have a relaxed and non-pressuried style of teaching, and will be able to help the student feel at ease. I do not have access to any teaching material unavailable to the public online, so would need the student to have papers/worksheets/textbooks etc from school for us to work on/go through together, or any problems they may be encountering in their minds for us to resolve. I would not call myself an academic, but my methods have enabled me to get this far with my languages and I would be more than happy to help others find a way to overcome any issues they may have with language learning.

Personal Description:
Hello there, I am Tina. I am a native mandarin speaker from China and have over 3 years teaching experience.

I was awarded `Outstanding Trainee of 2012 Confucius Institute Chinese Teacher training`.

My aim is to give fun, effective and personally tailored mandarin lessons to my students.

**For children, We are learning while playing games, singing, drawing and doing different sorts of activities. We make simple Chinese food, taste it and say it. We make our unique decorations, sing songs and dance around. We trace & write Chinese characters, hang them around the house. We have lots of fun while we progress in our mandarin learning.

**For GCSE or A-level students, We not only master the textbooks(listening, speaking, reading and writing), we also explore the beautiful eastern culture, study authentic Chinese stories and make our own stories. We practise past papers and make sure the preparation is done thoroughly and well. Meanwhile, we always have fun.

**For adult students, I tailor my tutoring to their individual needs and requirements,
+ looking to impressing your Chinese girlfriend's family;
+ making Chinese friends;
+ building a rapport with your Chinese business partners;
+ having a holiday in China;
+ studying or working there,
We will find the best way for you to learn. I encourage my adult students communicate with the language they have learnt and help them build up their confidence. We do lots of role-play based on real life situations. My students learn to talk confidently and build up their vocabulary steadily on the way.

Tips:
1. For travelling to China, you should learn travelling topics as well as daily small talks, which will helps you have a easier trip and make friends on your unforgeable journey. ++Numbers is the No.1 thing to learn.++
2. For making friends or impressing someone, don't forget to learn a couple of Chinese songs, which will definitely earn their favour. We have Karaoke at every corner of China.
3. For exam participants, practising past papers is a short-cut to your success.
4. For Mums, Children before aged 13, they have an area in their brain which help them learn languages as mother tongue and they don't translate the language, while after 13, that area will close and it becomes a lot harder to learn foreign languages.
5. Learning languages never be effortless, however, it can be easy and enjoyable if you find the right way.

I am available on Monday to Thursday daytime and some evenings; but my available time is changing, please don`t hesitate to drop me a line if you are interested in learning Mandarin. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Personal Description:
I am a highly organised and proficient language tutor with a Master's degree in Portuguese Studies from the University of Lyon II in France. I possess over four years of experience as a language tutor in England. I teach French, Spanish and Portuguese to all age groups.

Teaching Experience:

Prior to teaching in England I have four years full time teaching experience at all levels in a secondary school in France and one year's teaching experience part-time in the University of Jean Monnet teaching adults. At the same time I was teaching part-time with two French language agencies. And doing translation work for the Saint-Etienne Court.

I passed my PTLLS with Peterborough College Of Adult Education which allowed me to develop my language, teaching and lesson planning skills. I was able to develop effective lesson plans while creating a fun learning environment.

Tutoring Approach:

I have been working as a private language tutor for students, travellers and corporate clients including the BBC and Standard Charter Bank. I regularly provide customised language programmes to British diplomats and civil servants. I conduct both one-to-one and group tutoring lessons focusing on reading, writing and speaking, with a particular emphasis on business vocabulary for my corporate clients. I also impart my knowledge of the culture and costumes of the country in my lessons.

Personal Description:
I am a 28 year old mum and I have a Master's Degree in English Studies/ English Linguistics, History and Economic Sciences. I graduated in 2010 in Germany. Born in Poland and growing up in Germany I am bilingual in Polish and German and also fluent in English since I have lived in Northern Ireland since 2007. I am very interested in languages and linguistics and would like to use this knowledge to help others, especially children.

Teaching Experience:

I used to give private English lessons to a student aged 11-12 in Germany when I was a student myself. Within weeks his grades started to improve and thus after a few months he did not need any more tutoring.
Apart from this one I do not have any teaching experience, however, I was an assistant manager in a restaurant in my previous job through which I gained a lot of confidence being in a leading/ teaching position.

Tutoring Approach:

Because of my own interest in languages and linguistics I would like to work as a language teacher and fascinate and inspire others to learn different languages or simply help them to improve their language skills. My personal background as well as my degree provide an excellent basis for this.

Personal Description:
I obtained First Class Honours for my LL.B (Hons) and have qualified as a barrister after completing the bar course (obtaining a Very Competent grade). I have recently completed an LL.M in International Law obtaining a Distinction overall and in each constituent element of the course. I am working as a tutor pending the start of the pupillage stage of my training in 2016.

I started my legal training as a mature student after many years in finance and have good, practical business experience.

I am able to tutor in most humanities subjects but in particular, History, English and Law. I have successfully tutored in the past both mature students and those for whom English is not their first language.

Teaching Experience:

In my previous career I was frequently responsible for the training and development of new school leavers.

As a mature student at university I mentored and helped my peers to understand the subjects being taught.

I have been tutoring for over a year with typically excellent results for my students.

I have tutored students of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.

Tutoring Approach:

I am seeking to work as a tutor as I prefer the more intense and tailored approach which can be taken with individual students or small groups of students.

My approach is tailored to the individual student's needs. Whether the student is seeking support for short term projects or throughout the academic year I am able to quickly build a good working relationship which facilitates tutoring and enables the student to derive the best results from our sessions.

I believe in building a good, solid basis of knowledge and understanding on which the student can develop their own thoughts and theories enabling a full, in-depth understanding of the subject.
