Personal Description:
Unlike most tutors, I am a qualified and successful Physics teacher.

I am an experienced and fully qualified secondary school teacher in Science with a specialism in Physics. I have vast experience of tutoring from year 7 up to A-level and unlike other tutors I am also a qualified teacher who is currently teaching in the classroom. This allows me to be up-to-date with curriculum changes, coursework requirements and thorough knowledge of areas which students struggle with in all aspects of Science. I am also a six form school tutor which means that I understand the requirements for entry into six form and the UCAS process.

I am originally from Wales and have been living in North London for 14 years. I consider myself to be friendly and conscientious. Education is an important tool and I enjoy working with children and seeing them be the best that they can be.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently a secondary school Physics teacher with 6+ years experience. I am also responsible for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) at my school. Both of my parents were teachers and tutors (Head of Department in Science and SENCO) whilst I was growing up. Therefore teaching and education have always been an important part of my life.
I am a teacher and have taught 11-19 year old students in three comprehensive mixed schools in various boroughs in London including Hillingdon Borough, Camden and Haringey.
I am currently tutoring a number of students to achieve their best in AS Physics (AQA/EDEXCEL/OCR board) and teaching A-level OCR Physics at school. I have vast experience teaching KS3 Science and KS4 every board.

Tutoring Approach:

Each child is different, so I like to design a plan after first finding out where the problems arise. Every child is different and I find that you cannot treat every child in the same way. I follow the syllabuses and specification, as these are my main tools as well as past exam papers........practice makes perfect!

It is great to see their confidence growing in the subject and hopefully their enjoyment!

Personal Description:
I hold a PGCE in Modern Languages and English, a PGCE in Dyslexia/ SpLD and a Master 's Degree in Special and Inclusive Education. I am of French and Italian origin, therefore speak both languages at native speaker level, and I also speak English fluently. My Spanish is excellent and I can, and have done so, teach German too.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently teaching French and Spanish to GCSE level, and tutoring privately several students for French A'level, as well as dyslexia / reading and writing difficulties (both primary and secondary age). I taught Italian to adults, up to GCSE level, at the local college, for several years, and English as a Second Language for many years when I worked abroad, preparing students for the TOEFL qualification. I am also the Regional Primary Languages Trainer, teaching primary school pupils and training teachers.

Tutoring Approach:

I value one-to-one or small groups lessons as I can give individual attention to the students. I make them feel that they can achieve and use games and various techniques to make the lessons interesting and relevant. I have a wide range of resources at hand and I am constantly writing new ones. I prepare my lessons thoroughly in advance and deliver them with enthusiasm and care.

Personal Description:
I am a tutor of both Chinese Mandarin and Cantonese. I am an enthusiastic, dedicated and focused professional with exceptional organisational skills. I am from China, but have lived in England for 11 years. I am fluent in English and have English language qualifications.

I worked for Barclays in UK for six year but I much prefer teaching. I find it very rewarding when I see my students learn and grow with my help. This is why I now work full-time as a private tutor.

I am currently teaching several students. They give me great feedback and are very satisfied with the service I offer.

I have worked as an interpreter and translator. I have a UK masters degree in International Business Communication. While working at Barclays I worked in Correspondence and often interpreted

Teaching Experience:

I have taught both grown-ups and kids, one-to-one and in a group.

If you are going to or doing business with Chinese:
I have experience of teaching groups of senior business people in the office. I have been giving great feedback. For example, "I have gained lots of confidence to speak Chinese when I travel to China for business. Liwen is a really encouraging tutor and I have made great progress in a short space of time."

I also have one-to-one lessons with students who are doing business with Chinese or travelling to China frequently.

If you are planning to travel to China for a holiday:
Few of my students learned Chinese before they went to China for holiday. They were very satisfied after my lessons. "Liwen is professional, organised, and patient. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who would like to learn or improve their Chinese. "

If you are parents and wanted your children to learn Chinese:
I have students between 3-7 years old. They really enjoy my lessons. As a mum myself, I understand the need of children.
I am also teaching in the secondary school. There are many enthusiastic students in the class.

More:
I have both Cantonese and Mandarin adult students.

I am very warm, patient, understanding and a great listener.

I have invested in my teaching materials and have some great stuff to help you learn.

I am flexible and can offer lessons on subject matters of interest to the student.

I have taught students who have very different reasons for wanting to learn Mandarin or Cantonese. Some because they have Chinese relations, some because they have a general interest in China. In all cases I have been able to meet my student's needs and they have been very satisfied with what my lessons.

Tutoring Approach:

I think everyone has different learning styles. My aim is to understand the different needs of my students and provide the best teaching methods for them, so they will get the most from my lessons. As I have been in England for over 11 years, I have a deep understanding of the cultural differences between west and east.

I like to share my own personal experiences with my students in order to illuminate a subject.

I make lessons enjoyable and have designed some games and exercises.

I am very passionate about teaching Chinese and love to see my students progress.

Personal Description:
I am a 44 yr old graduate of Oxford University, where I studied French and German, and a postgraduate of the University of Manchester, where I obtained a Masters and Doctorate in English. I'm currently an Associate Tutor at the Universities of Salford and Edge Hill. I live in West Yorkshire, but can also cover South Lancs and Manchester.

Teaching Experience:

I'm really enjoying teaching some individual pupils at GCSE and A-level at the moment and now have the time to take on some more.

I have been teaching English in Higher Education since 2004. During this time I also taught an A-level student English on an individual basis, as extra preparation for Oxbridge entry - the student gained a place at Oxford. I've also taught two summer schools for visiting American students at the University of Manchester, and a first year university student privately last year.

I have experience with AQA syllabuses in French GCSE and English (Literature) GCSE and A-level (Gothic and Pastoral), and also OCR French.

I also worked for some years in the retail/hospitality sector, where I was an induction trainer, and had some involvement with NVQ assessment.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe the most important thing in teaching is to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, where students are not afraid to ask any questions. I like to avoid overt formality, and make the teaching as enjoyable as possible. I'm very encouraging and positive, but within this will always offer constructive criticism when it's needed. I make sure sessions end with clear goals about what students need to do to improve - clear and achieveable goals, that I will check your progress with. I enjoy teaching a great deal, and will push you to achieve your very best.

For under 16s, I have a programme for teaching English, French, and German. This includes conversation, grammar, composition, and working with literature suited to the pupil's age range. It's flexible and pitched to any age and ability between 11 and 16.

Personal Description:
Hello, I'm Zoe. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Oxford, studying English Language and Literature at St Peter's College.

I'm an experienced tutor and I believe that with a good, solid education everyone's opportunities in life become better. I am patient and very committed to getting the best from my students.

Prior to university I attended Streatham and Clapham High School (8-16), and Wallington County Grammar School (16-18).

I completed A-Levels in English, Medieval History, French, Classical Civilisation and Philosophy AS Level.

My main interest is English Literature but I am ever-keen to use my French, and am also passionate about History, both ancient and modern. At GCSE level I opted to study primarily languages, namely French, German, Latin and Ancient Greek, and I am so grateful for the skills and linguistic understanding these diverse subjects have given me.

I am a keen reader, theatre-goer and traveller; I also enjoy sports, particularly running, netball and cycling. I live in southwest London and am happy to travel.

Teaching Experience:

I have plenty of experience tutoring people of all ages, and am currently specialising in English, French and History lessons and entrance/university interview preparation lessons.

I have worked as a temporary assistant at Faulkner House School in South Kensington during my Easter holiday from university in 2010 (children aged 3-11).

At school I worked on a mentor programme helping students from younger years with their French speaking practice and also with extra English.

I have a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) qualification.

I worked with a local Brownie pack from 2006-8 which involved working with children aged 7-10, running a variety of crafts activities and games.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a firm believer in the ability of each person to achieve academic success through hard work, and also understand the need for patience and perseverance to succeed.

Having benefited from one-on-one tutoring during my own education for those subjects I struggled with at school, I have first hand experience of the importance of a good tutor and just how much difference one can make.

I have a real passion for the subjects I studied at university and at A-Level and I communicate that, whilst simultaneously providing relevant and informed tuition sessions.

Personal Description:
I am a PhD student with a passion for impacting knowledge in children. I have worked with children for the past 10 years on various subjects.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught children aged between 4 and 11 maths/reading and writing in the past. This was mostly voluntary due to the passion I have for children. I equally tutor chemical engineering students at the university.

Tutoring Approach:

I teach with school books and internet materials. Visual aid is a necessity as it give a clearer picture of what is being taught. The children are made to reflect on what has been learnt prior to the start of a new session. Personal Description:
I am 20 years old, I'm a native speaker of french. I moved over to France at the slender age of 12 and I lived there for 7 years, I have taken my french equivalent GCSE's and A-level's in France. I am currently working as a teaching assistant in a high school for Key Stage 3/4 and I provide extra french curriculum activities for the student's depending on their abilities and their age. I'm also currently at Open University getting my French degree.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently working at a High School in Dewsbury as a Teaching Assistant with Key Stage 3 and Key stage 4 student's. Once a week I have French activities put in place after school for those who want help with their french homework or have course work or would like to improve on their French.

Tutoring Approach:

I know myself how hard it is to learn another language, so depending on their age and abilities, I will provide a different range of fun activities/lessons that will help them to progress in French. I always try to keep the lessons/activities as fun and enjoyable as possible so that they are learning whilst having fun but also they are staying concentrated and engaged.

Personal Description:
Hello everyone! /Bonjour à tous !
My name is Sarah, I am an enthusiastic, patient and diplomatic young French native. I am willing to teach and help anyone with the beautiful French language.
What else about me? I am a music lover and enjoy going to gigs as much as I can, with a preference for the band Coldplay… I love long walks in nature (preferably with a cute dog by my side), and discovering new places.

I am currently unemployed and would relish the opportunity to gain experience in tutoring. I would love the opportunity to share my French skills with anyone needing help or willing to learn.

Teaching Experience:

I may not have the past of teaching but I firmly believe that my abilities are matching the role of Tutor. I am able to adapt to very different situations, and also well organised. Three years spent in the UK and translating articles from English to French for ColdplayCorner.com made me confident with the English language.
I proved my abilities with children by working temporarily in a primary school in France in 2012 and 2013. I was in charge of the supervision at lunch time and sometimes break time with kids from age 3 to 6.
I, later on in 2013, moved to London to learn English and the perks of the British culture. I was working as an Au-Pair/Nanny for 3 children (aged 7 to 12 when I started) in Camden from September 2013 to September 2016. I loved my job and being close to the children every day, the best positive experience of my life so far!

Tutoring Approach:

The idea of tutoring has held much fascination for me ever since I have a keen love for education and loved all my school years. I am convinced I have what it takes to develop and implement tutoring plans that best fit each individual student I could have. I could use my personal skills to always stay calm and positive with the students. I can work comfortably with people from diverse backgrounds and can exhibit patience and judgement, especially where the need for both is dire.
For example, for anyone who wants to learn a bit of French, I would start with the basics and go more and more deeply in the language. I can make the lesson enjoyable by talking about one the favourite subject of the student. In my opinion, this is a good way of teaching and learning a language as it encourages interaction and communication. I can also do basic lessons and help students with their homework.

Personal Description:
I am an experienced journalist and academic tutor. I have spent hundreds of hours of teaching in classes and I have an outstanding ability to make even the most complicated concept understandable, due to my professional experience in the Media . I am proficient in producing various types of texts, from academic essays to fiction and blog content and I have tons of experience in producing them, both in Greek and in English.

Academically, I have two masters degrees from two of the most prestigious institutions in the U.K. The fields of my studies are Politics (specifically, political theory and constitutional design) and EU Politics. I graduated both M.Sc.s with distinction and particularly, my dissertations were examples of academic research of the highest standards and quality.

Teaching Experience:

I have considerable experience in teaching, acquired during my academic career but also during the early stages of my professional career, when I used to work as a teaching assistant of various subjects, including English as a foreign language in Greece, Politics and EU Politics. I have worked with students of s undergraduate and graduate level, but also adult professionals.

Tutoring Approach:

I see teaching and especially tutoring as a means of communicating something that is known and familiar to me, to another person. In order to be clear and concise, I try to asses what the individual knows about the issue that we are about to talk about and then I try give my teaching a structure of sections and subsections, in which I try to cover as much information as possible in the minimum possible time.

My experience in journalism has taught me that I have to start from the bare minimum, the essentials of the concept I am about to explain and then build up by adding extra information, giving examples, making historical comparisons and giving the context. Simultaneously, I am trying to asses whether my listener has understood and is at ease with what I have already covered.

Personal Description:
To make this brief, my name is Jasmine and I am a strong believer in life long learning. It is important for the path of developing yourself and allows you to reach your dreams.
I am from London and originally Vietnam. I attended James Allen's Girls' School in East Dulwich, studied Art, History of Art, Geography, Maths and Critical Thinking at A Level (A*, A, A, B, B).
I applied for Cambridge and got into Trinity College, the most prestigious college at Cambridge University and there is only 1 or 2 spaces for Architecture students. I then went on to study Architecture at The University of Nottingham and graduated last year.

I was 1 of 10 adults worldwide to be awarded the Engage scholarship from Google's Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute for Advanced Emotional Intelligence, Mindfulness and Neuroscience. I am trained to teach an 8 week beginners/advanced course for mindfulness and I combine my knowledge about well-being into my style of tutoring.

Teaching Experience:

I have over 2000 hours of one to one teaching. This has been over the course of 3 years informally for Art, History of Art, Maths and Architecture. In Vietnam, I have taught for 2 years English as a foreign language to students from 11-18 years old. My students have gone on to get into the schools that they wanted, land the jobs and do their best work.

I have also taught belly dancing at university, acroyoga, meditation, acapella singing and mindfulness for 3 years.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is rigorous and supportive. Depending on how lenient you want my tutoring style to be, it is up to you! I am keen on getting the results that you want.
I have always had to rely on myself to achieve the grades that I want, to understand each subject intimately and what the exam boards and teachers are asking of you - this is also thanks to some amazing teachers I have had in the past. I understand the challenges that comes with learning, the stress, the ins and outs of each subject and all the short cuts in between.

I believe it is important to connect with a student, understand them, empathise and teach some emotional resilience - key in achieving the grades you want. My knowledge in mindfulness is an advantage, as I have learnt tools that has been proven scientifically to increase focus, productivity, deeper awareness, calm and reduced stress. This is how you can reach a flow state, where it is enjoyable to be challenged in what you are learning, as well as being able to become more internally motivated.
