Personal Description:
Born in Montréal, Québec, I was raised in a purely francophone environment. I rapidly learned English as Quebec is a bilingual province. I attended high school in French, college in English, and graduated from university with a bilingual degree. I recently graduated from HEC Montreal with a Bachelor Degree in business administration specialised in market finance. I moved to London in September 2014 and currently work at the All England Lawn Tennis Club for the Wimbledon Championships. I have a keen interest for sports, music and travelling.

Teaching Experience:

I had the opportunity to be a French tutor during 2 years at John Abbott College back in Canada. I worked mostly with English speakers, but also with German and Spanish speakers. I also gained experience during my last year in high school tutoring different subjects including French, English and Mathematics. Most recently, I was a mentor for a student with learning difficulty. I helped her with different academic subjects as well as taking her to educational activities to stimulate her interests.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe the best approach to tutoring is to truly personalize the learning, considering the tutee's needs while incorporating connections to their interests. I am a patient and flexible tutor, I am willing to adjust teaching techniques in order to provide better help. I think it's important to focus on goal setting and to create benchmarks in order to set students up for academic progress.

Personal Description:
I am a twenty-seven year old student living in Tooting, London. I am an actor having completed a three-year diploma in professional acting from The Oxford School of Drama. Before this I gained a First Class BA (Hons) in English Literature and Drama from the University of Sheffield.

I have a real passion for education and feel I am perfectly placed to help students having just completed my actor training I know what constitutes good teaching.

Having a degree in English Literature and Drama means I would be confident to tutor in English Literature, English Language, Theatre Studies and Drama at A Level or below.

I can also direct speeches for drama school entry and advise on applications.

Teaching Experience:

I am experienced in teaching ages 7-19.

I have also run large group workshops with secondary and primary school children.

I have also studied teaching techniques used in museums and devised theatre projects to communicate exhibits to varying age ranges.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a firm believer that the best way to learn is by interaction. I am myself a creative learner, and thus my teaching takes a creative slant.

I am passionate about theatre and the power that human interaction has on learning so I embark on lively lessons designed to create enthusiasm for subjects - so students will not just see them as perfunctory nuisances. I am also incredibly logical and a rigorous planner, who can create realistic targets and see them come to fruition.

Personal Description:
I am Dimitrios and I am a freelance musician/teacher/producer. My main musical discipline is drumming but I also play guitar and have basic knowledge of keyboards. I also possess a high level of musical theory and I am an intermediate percussion player.

I am 25 years old and I currently reside in South-West London. I am Greek but the last three years I've been living in UK.

I have studied in the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, graduating with a Bachelor Degree under the excellent guidance of Pete Riley (Guthrie Govan) and Frank Tontoh ( Amy Winehouse, George Michael). With them I have studied and played a wide variety of contemporary musical styles (funk, jazz, pop, hip-hop, r'n'b, rock, latin etc)

I am very approachable, friendly and open minded and I love to share my knowledge on music and everything else around this subject. I can also provide advise on career questions, hardware and general consultation.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experience begins back in Greece where I used to help my private tutor ease his workload. I used to handle beginners and very young children. I have also spend a year on teaching before I moved in England to study as a mean of preparing my self for the path of the Freelance Musician I was aiming for.

During my days in ACM, I also used to help fellow students on lower levels of the school to better prepare for their Bachelor Course.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach depends largely on two factors. The age of my student and his experience.

I usually prefer to take my students back to the very basics. In case of drumming, I like to check their very body stance, their movement, the general understanding of time and rhythm and even their breathing while focusing on the instrument.

In general I tend to make everything sound fun and easy and approachable and I insist on connecting all the knowledge into practical concepts so the student can better understand what he is actually learning and why.

Overall, I focus on fun and relaxations but through discipline and organized learning and understanding.

Personal Description:
After graduating from Trinity College Oxford with a first class Masters in Engineering I reflected upon the opportunities education had afforded me, the horizons it broadened and the skills it had developed. It was such a valuable gift I decided to teach. I have also had a broad range of other career experience from healthcare to investment banking, this helps me to offer practical advice and guidance to A Level students considering their career.

Teaching Experience:

I've now taught in a variety of schools from an inner-city London school to more recently completing a period as Head of Physics in the Middle East. I now work as a Physics teacher at a top independent school is West London. I have tutored for over seven years, gaining increasing satisfaction from watching young peoples' mind develop and confidence grow.

I am an exam board examiner and moderator, which is a great insight into how to prepare pupils for examinations as well as address their wider educational needs. Education is a crucial part of any persons' life and as such I approach tutoring with both rigour and passion!

In addition to helping student achieve their best grades at GCSE, IGCSE and A Level, I have also been successful in tutoring students for common entrance. I have helped students secure places at Winchester, Westminster and Eton.

Tutoring Approach:

Building self confidence and fostering a love for the subject is my overall aim. To do this I endeavour to establish a close working relationship with each tutee based on trust and their confidence in me to facilitate their exam success as well as address their wider educational needs. Thought process, rather than content, lies at the heart of my ambition to develop self sufficient learners yet I appreciate than content and technique cannot be understated when preparing for exams.

Personal Description:
I am an English and Spanish Postgraduate Student with a Master's degree in Spanish and Teaching Foreign Languages. I am a Spanish native speaker but I was raised bilingually between Spain and the UK. I really enjoy teaching Spanish and English, since they are both part of my background.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught Spanish and English privately for 5 years. This private tuition consisted in one-to-one or small group classes. I also taught Spanish at West Virginia University (USA) for two academic years and English at a Language School in Spain for two years. In these contexts, classes were bigger, from 5 to 25 students per class. I currently teach Spanish Language and Literature at University of London.

Tutoring Approach:

I always try to adapt my teaching method to the student's preferences and learning style, but I think it is very important to promote communication in the target language as much as possible during the lesson. This makes students more confident and also facilitates language acquisition greatly. It is also essential to make the lesson as entertaining and dynamic as possible, because if the student is enjoying the lesson, they will learn more easily and quickly.

Personal Description:
I'm a humanitarian worker with a keen interest in languages, history, politics, and philosophy.

Postgraduate studies:
MSc, 2:1 in Political Theory from the London School of Economics and Political Science (2015). A political philosophy course in the analytic tradition including modules on liberalism, egalitarianism, feminist theory, and two outside modules on conflict and humanitarianism.

Undergraduate studies:
BA(Hons), 2:1 in Middle Eastern Studies and Arabic from Cambridge University (2010). Included modules in history, politics, literature, and religious studies, as well as Arabic language. I spent the third year of my studies living in Damascus, Syria, and speak the Syrian dialect, as well as having a solid grounding in Modern Standard grammar. Since graduating I have worked in Iraq, Jordan, Turkey, and Israel.

A-levels:
My A-levels were in English Literature, Philosophy & Ethics, French, and History (AAAB), and I also took an AS-level in Spanish (A). I have lived in France and Spain and speak both French and Spanish to a high level of fluency. I was also raised bilingual with English and Italian.

Teaching Experience:

In addition to tutoring family friends in Italy over the summer holidays (in English), I've exchanged English and Spanish lessons for Arabic lessons. I also taught English to two groups of 20+ Arab teenagers at a high school in Israel from September - December 2012.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in cultivating a vigorous work ethic in students, which is best done through close supervision and encouragement. The work covered will involve both the curriculum required by the student's course as well as helpful extras tailored to the student's abilities and personality. I will provide these extras to increase the student's understanding of the subject and help him/or her reach a standard of excellence that will be noticed by teachers and examiners alike.

I find the most common problem students have is not with the subject itself, but with the teacher or the insufficient attention they get in the classroom. A stress-free but diligent approach will allow us to build trust, which will give the student renewed confidence in his or her abilities. Students who push themselves with me will be rewarded for their hard work by realising that the subject they once dreaded is actually really enjoyable when approached from a new angle.

Personal Description:
I am currently in my second year at the University of Kent in Canterbury on the course of PhD Chemistry. I did my bachelor degree in Forensic chemistry at the University of Kent itself where I obtained a first class honour.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently a graduate teaching assistant at the Universityof Kent and I teach chemistry/forensic classes to students in their foundation year up to students in their final year of their bachelor degree. I am also enrolled on an ATAP (Associate Teacher Accreditation Programme) course which run for 1 year and after completion I will most likely enrol into the PGCHE course. Moreover, I undertook a KS3/4 Mathematics teaching placement at a secondary school in broadstairs. My mother is a primary teacher and i used to assist her in teaching during private tuitions and at the school in which she works. Sometimes she used to leave the class on my responsibility. The kids loved me as a teacher.
Also, I worked for Kumon Learning Centre as a maths teaching assistant where I was in charge of various keystages students, starting from basic maths, which is learning how to count, up to GCE A-Level maths. However, my area of expertise is in O-Level and A-Level maths.

Tutoring Approach:

i believe that the best way to learn is not through rote learning. If the student does not understand when i explain something, i'll find different ways and contexts to explain it and i'll keep doing this until i am satisfied that the student is confident of himself/herself and that he/she can explain it to somebody who has no knowledge on that subject.

I also taught the undergraduate and Postgraduate students of Birmingham University, Aston University, Warwick University, Coventry University, Nottingham University, Nottingham Trent University, Birmingham City University, Sheffield University, Wolverhampton University, University of East Anglia, Hull University, Derby University, University of Glasgow and several others.
I have experience of teaching AAT subjects to the students as well as all GCSE and A-Level students .
I am also assisting students with any assignment help they require.

Tutoring Approach:

I think for teaching one has to come to the level of the student and also one must be aware of the requirement of the specific paper with reference to exam I mean exam approach teaching is the best of all. I believe in quality of the lecture not the length of it.

Firstly, the students needs have to be understood and then the tutoring phase will carefully outlined and tutees will be taught according to their needs. Questions will be encouraged throughout the session as these are important for higher understanding.

Personal Description:
I have just returned from a year as a Graduate music tutor at Wanganui Collegiate School, New Zealand. Before this, I graduated from the University of Oxford in June 2010, having studied Music at Oriel College under the tutorship of Dr. David Maw. I was educated as a music scholar at Eton College, Windsor before moving to the Perse School, Cambridge for sixth form study. Aside of a huge passion and enthusiasm for music study and tuition, I am an avid sportsman having represented both my university and county youth level in cricket. I also played a number of sports for my college during my time at Oriel. Currently, I am studying for a Masters in Musicology at Durham University with a specialism in the orchestral music of Gerald Finzi. In addition, I am also the Senior Organ Scholar at St. John's College. I have recently accepted a teaching post at Brighton College to begin in September 2012.

Teaching Experience:

Having just returned from a year as a graduate music tutor at Wanganui Collegiate School in New Zealand, I feel that I am in touch with both school teaching and more specifically, more private music tuition. During my year experience in New Zealand, I engaged very actively in the life of the music department. I have experience of basic music tuition with teaching of introductory concepts in the subject such as basic notation, theory, instrumentation and historical issues.
Further up the age spectrum, I have taught specific a level modules in a seminar type situation. With a completed Undergraduate Music degree from the University of Oxford, I have an extensive knowledge of theory, analysis, music history and specific tutoring skills in the study of the clarinet, piano and bassoon. I have taught music theory, clarinet and piano privately for 4 years.
This said, I am very happy to tutor at all levels, aiming to pass on my keen enthusiasm in the subject onto other keen and ambitious musicians whether they be starting out in the subject, or looking for extra assistance at A level and/or degree level. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at any time.

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring style is designed to generate as much active involvement by the student as possible. Tutoring time is balanced according to the needs of the client between examination coaching (handwriting, mnemonic techniques, time/mark allocation discipline, revision styles) and subject content (probing and consolidating background knowledge, instilling enthusiasm, analysing key aspects of each topic).

In addition, I believe in addressing the needs of each child individually and working with them to help them understand how to work through a problem for themselves. Confidence is often the key and I am keen to work with them to improve the confidence in their own abilities in a varied and fun atmosphere.

Personal Description:
My name is Lauren, I am 18 years old, and I am currently a student at Coventry University studying Spanish BA Single Honours, with TEFL (Teaching English as a foreign language). I am originally from Dorset, where I studied Spanish at GCSE and A Level, acquiring an A* at GCSE and a B at A Level. I believe I am a hard working individual with every intention on making sure I achieve what I set out to do. I enjoy helping others, working, and socialising with my friends, and I get on really well with new people.

Teaching Experience:

In the past I have helped out with some younger classes at my secondary school when they needed some assistance in some of the classes. Also, as my sister is 5 years younger than me, I have always been the one helping her with homework, or helping if there is something she does not understand. This means that I have some experience working with people who are in the age group I intend to teach.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in a structured hour of work where the pupil is thoroughly engaged throughout the session. I think that there is a lot of importance in learning 'discovery' which is where the pupil is not spoon-fed information, but rather encouraged to try and work out patterns in the language e.g. grammar. Obviously if the pupil gets stuck I will help them. I also think grammar is an important part of learning Spanish language due to all of the verb conjugations and gender agreements etc. Homework is also important as doing a little each day is definitely one of the best ways to learn.

Personal Description:
I am a mechanical engineer with MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development from University of Cambridge.

Teaching Experience:

I was involved in conducting the training camp for the selection of the team that represented Pakistan in the 36th International Physics Olympiad, held in Spain. I was involved in conducting exams, practicals, marking, teaching as well as coordinating tutorials sessions with professors.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to take a practical approach to teaching. I want to give an intuitive feel to the students to help him grasp complex concepts. I do this by giving everyday examples to highlight the subjects under study. I want to
make science fun, cool and intuitive for students and remove the myth and misconceived perception that it is difficult and boring. If the teaching approach is correct, there is no reason why students will not be thrilled by laws and mechanisms of universe.

Personal Description:
I am a second year student at the University of Oxford studying Engineering Science. I completed my A levels at Bennett Memorial School having studied Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry. I am available to tutor during my Easter holiday, which is about 6 weeks long, and I am happy to travel to the tutee or tutor at home.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring through tutoring websites for a year and a half and helped students towards their GCSE's and A levels last summer. Having recently taken GCSE`s and A Levels`s I have first hand experience of learning the courses and preparing for exams and I feel I have a good understanding of what is needed to do well. In school I helped teach younger students at Maths and Physics revision sessions during lunchtimes. I have also been a young leader at my local cub scout group for 5 years.

Tutoring Approach:

I am enthusiastic about my subjects and try to make learning them interesting. I will try to adapt my approach to whatever suits the student best.

Personal Description:
Hello, my name is Lucinda and I have worked as a primary school teacher for the last eight years. I am enthusiastic and passionate about teaching and enjoy the satisfaction it brings.
I enjoy all things creative and try to inject creativity into my teaching wherever possible.
I have a passion for sport and when I am not teaching I can be found rowing on the Thames, at the gym or watching a game of rugby. My other interests include going to the theatre, live music and reading.

Teaching Experience:

I work in an outer London primary school as a class teacher and have done so for the last eight years. In that time I have taught in Reception (age 3-4)), Year 2 (age 6-7) and I currently teach in Year 1 (age 5-6). I have also tutored children working in Key Stage Two, helping to build confidence and close the gap in their learning on a one to one basis.
Throughout my teaching career I have worked with children with varying needs and abilities. My teaching is adapted to suit these learning needs and help children to reach their full potential. I have high expectations of all children I teach and enjoy helping them to make learning fun and enjoyable.

Tutoring Approach:

When teaching is fun, learning is easy.
Children learn when lessons have been planned with their particular needs in mind. Learning occurs when teaching is fun, well thought out and relevant to them. I see the most progress in children's learning when they are fully engaged and the learning has a purpose. I tailor lessons around these elements and enjoy seeing what children can actually achieve when the right learning environment has been created for them.
When teaching and tutoring, I encourage children to explore ideas, make connections, reflect on their learning while all the time I question them, helping to develop their higher order thinking skills.
