Personal Description:
I am a current first year student at the University of Bath, studying for a Masters in Aerospace Engineering. I have achieved great academic results at A-Level from Wallingford Sixth Form.

I`m available from 14th of December to the 4th January, so if you need to go over more challenging areas of the course, I`m happy to help.

Teaching Experience:

I have limited experience in tutoring but i have helped course mates frequently when they do not understand the curriculum or haven`t understood the method that the lecturer uses. I tend to find that changing the technique of teaching a subject allows you to understand it better.

I also helped friends and family who are studying A-levels in maths, further maths and physics.

Tutoring Approach:

I'm very patient with tutees and take the time to make sure they learn the topic subject thoroughly. As I said before, I tend to vary my methods of teaching if the tutee doesn't understand how i'm teaching it. I also think it is a better learning environment if the session has a specific plan in mind but is informal enough to allow the tutee to query anything that they don't fully understand.

Personal Description:
After completing my D.Phil from the University of Oxford, I worked for 7 years as a Senior Biologist for a small drug discovery company where I was responsible for screening new drug targets in tissue models for human disease. Over the years I've had so many comments from students/colleagues about my ability to break subjects down to ease understanding, and coupled with my passion for science and sharing that with others I decided to change career and become a full-time science tutor. I've never looked back!

I have many hobbies but particularly enjoy outdoor pursuits including: sailing, mountaineering, climbing, mountain biking and running. Most of my free time though is spent with my wonderful husband and beautiful tots!

Teaching Experience:

During my time researching at Oxford, I tutored an array of students in Biochemistry, Biology, Genetics, Human Science and Medicine.

I have vast tutoring experience at both GCSE, AS/A2 level covering all UK exam specifications, including IB.

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring style is informal, working with each student to improve their approach to learning whilst maintaining motivation. At the end of the day, learning should be fun!

I usually charge a very small travel fee to cover the cost of fuel.

Personal Description:
I am a confident, diligent and sociable person, with a wide knowledge of world history, and specialising in American and South-East Asian history and culture. I hold a double first class Bachelors degree in History and American Studies from Canterbury Christ Church University, and have had many years experience leading youth projects such as youth councils, young persons' scrutiny forums (YPSF) and have acted as a liasion on several historical and cultural preservation projects such as the Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education (SACRE) and the Church House Preservation Committee.

Teaching Experience:

I have previous experience as a teaching assistant to KS3 and KS4 level history at a state secondary school.

Tutoring Approach:

I take a holistic approach to the teaching of history, ensuring that the student becomes engaged within a fuller understanding of the period being studied. As a former student and teach of history, I realise that the principal block to a tutee's understanding of historical concepts is a lack of immersion within the relevant time-frames and thus an inability to fully comprehend why certain actions were taken, and the wider effect this had.

Thus in my approach I am firm believer that it is as important for every student to understand to a higher level than that offered by the current state curriculum the context of the period they are studying. As a consequence I offer tailored introductions to said period's culture, economy, religious and political setting, and even physical geography.

Furthermore, I offer the necessary skills to craft this knowledge into well-reasoned, informed essays. My intimate knowledge of the state education system and beyond has imbued me with the ability to gauge how assignments will be assessed and thus I can work with students not only on improving their knowledge, but showcasing this in highly-marked, structured and coherent written forms.

I use a number of methods to achieve this, including homework assignments, but also using character adoption, audio-visual aids and a mixture of written and verbal questions of varying length and form.

Personal Description:
I have recently completed a PhD in Latin Literature from St Andrews University, although I am now based near Reading. I hold a Bachelor degree in Classics (Class 2:1) from Bristol University, a PGCE in Classics from Cambridge University, and an MLitt (with distinction) in Classics from St Andrews. I am currently self-employed and involved in tutoring, freelance writing and editing, and exam moderating. I am married and live in Winnersh near Wokingham, Berkshire.

Teaching Experience:

I have twelve years of teaching experience at Secondary Level, five years as Head of Department. I have substantial experience of language and literature teaching, from a wide range of Classical authors, at GCSE and A level, and have also taught university undergraduates. I have often tutored individuals outside of the classroom and am used to catering to the needs of students at various stages of their learning, from complete beginners to potential Oxbridge candidates.

Tutoring Approach:

My style is relaxed and I always aim to make learning enjoyable while also promoting intellectual rigour. I certainly encourage active participation and believe in allowing all tutees to comment constructively on their own progress or the relative value of different activities undertaken in tutorials.

Personal Description:
Hello! I am an enthusiastic First Class postgraduate student in Literature at the University of Essex. I graduated in 2012 with a First in Literature and Art History and received a number of awards throughout my degree for the best marks in the Faculty and for academic excellence. I have been awarded a very high mark for my IELTS language qualification (8 out of 9) and I have a near native competency in English.

I am happy to offer tuition in:
1. English language - preparation for language certificates, such as IELTS; help with writing, reading, listening and speaking English, for day-to-day conversation or otherwise;
2. English literature - preparation for GCSE Key Stage 4
3. Academic writing - preparation for writing letters, essays, reports, articles and so on in English.

I am based in Colchester (close to town centre) and I am able to offer visits at home as long as the address is accessible via public transport. Please feel free to contact me via e-mail or at the phone number provided.

Teaching Experience:

I have previously worked as a tutor, offering younger students help with learning English as a foreign language. During my undergraduate degree, I have also offered help with academic writing, proofreading and editing. My teaching experience was further enhanced by means of participating to academic conferences in literature (from departmental to international level), events which developed my public speaking and persuasion skills in relation to a diverse audience.

Tutoring Approach:

I am passionate about making the study of English language and literature relevant to contemporary situations. I use popular culture examples, propose conversational scenarios relevant to everyday situations and texts which are in line with the students' preference, taste, culture, and interests. I focus on the student and on making the teaching session as enjoyable and stimulating as possible. When preparing for an exam, I insist on using example tests and possible questions, followed by a discussion of the results with the student. I am flexible and interested in as many different methods of teaching as possible.

Personal Description:
I am a 19 year old student currently on a gap year before commencing studies once again at New York University in August,2014. After having completed my International Baccalaureate diploma at Marlborough College, I applied to NYU to read a double bachelors degree in History and Global Liberal Studies ( a combination of philosophy, politics and a foreign language of my choice). Tutoring has always greatly intrigued as I myself have had first experiences of how a tutor can either help oneself to flourish or how their methods can inadvertently stunt your academic growth. I have a passion for children and learning and I believe that tutoring should be an activity that both the tutee and tutor can mutually benefit, learn and grow from. I am a very driven individual who faces every challenge with a vibrantly positive approach and I try my best to put 100 percent into all that I do.

Teaching Experience:

During the summer of 2012 I worked as an assistant teacher at Constant Spring Primary all age school. This school is located in Kingston, Jamaica. During the few months that worked as a TA, I particularly dealt with children who had learning difficulties and challenges, teaching them English Language and Literature, Spanish and Mathematics.

Tutoring Approach:

I would like to think of my approach to Tutoring as a rather Hollistic one. I believe that my role as a tutor should not only be focused on building the tutee academically but also helping them to flourish as a person in their confidence and ambition. I like to have a hands on approach and work with my tutees each step of the way to ensure that they are maximising on their time with me and that a clear set of goals are set from the beginning to enable them to fulfil their true potential.
