Personal Description:
Hi, my name is Tom and I currently work as an English, maths and ICT teacher at a local college. I hold: a first degree in Sociological, Historical and Literary studies, with Honours (BA Hons); a Master's Degree (MA) in Sociological Criminology and Criminal Justice; a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (P.G.C.E); a TEFL certificate (teaching English as a foreign language qualification); and I am a qualified assessor (TAQA). I live in Fleetwood with my wife and family and my interests are football, non fictional reading, critical writing and critical discussion.

Teaching Experience:

I currently teach English but also, some maths and ICT. I have previously worked at various colleges across the North West teaching these subjects as well as sociology. I have about five years private tutoring experience and enjoy both classroom and one to one teaching.

After graduating with a Masters Degree, I decided to embark on a teaching career, for which, I love. With having all the skills and knowledge in place, I wanted to give something back and help others succeed.

In addition to working at key stage 3 and 4 in an English setting and up to A level in sociology, I have over two years experience working in a Primary School setting. I love working with all ages and all levels of education.

Tutoring Approach:

With my level of knowledge and current experience, I would be ideally suited to improving your child's English and sociology grades up to GCSE level for English and A Level for sociology. With my in depth knowledge and developed writing skills, coupled with my teaching and learning qualities, I will be able to focus on areas of the curriculum that your child falls short in.

Focusing on improving your child's underpinning core knowledge, such as spelling, grammar and punctuation, I will also increase their capacity to internalise information due to my enthusiastic, friendly and easy to get along with style. The key to actively engaging learners to improve their grades is to: provide enjoyable lessons; set achievable targets; and give good, honest feedback. If learners enjoy themselves, know what they are required to do and how to do it, they progress!

If your child struggles to express themselves through their work, homework or coursework/ essays, or struggles to get motivated to complete tasks, I can help improve their enthusiasm, enjoyment and essentially their grades. My learner orientated approach helps to develop the ability to organise and structure work, improve grammar and punctuation and broaden creative output. Further to this, I also like to show learners how to self motivate and to manage time more effectively when embarking on homework or coursework, which is essential to further progression.

My methodical, approachable and friendly style, coupled with my results orientated approach, is suitable for learners of all ages (including younger children and adult learners), which in turn will aid development in other subject areas. Furthermore, I am TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) qualified, so I am also skilled in teaching learners English who speak English as a second/ foreign language.

Personal Description:
I'm an easy going, empathetic, supportive and a very patient tutor who is dedicated to all my students and teaching Maths. I'm very thorough in my teaching and ensure no stone is left unturned in preparing for my student's maths exams/tests. I enjoy helping my students reach their full potential and achieve their aims. I encourage all my students to take a general interest in Mathematics as this helps them in doing well. I do 1 to 1 tuition and also tutor small groups of no more than 4 students. I teach all levels up to and including A-Level and for all exam boards (AQA, EDEXCEL and OCR). I have thus far been very successful as a Maths tutor and hope to continue this trend especially in light of the tremendous performance of my students in the 2016 academic year. I specialize in helping my students obtain grades A-A* in their exams. Every GCSE (Higher) and A-Level Student I have ever tutored has gained grades A* to C.

Teaching Experience:

I'm currently a Teacher of Mathematics at a local academy in Luton (11-19 year olds) and have had 6 years experience in private tuition, teaching Mathematics at all levels up to and including A-Level. Teach all abilities and ages.

Tutoring Approach:

The aim of my tuition lessons is 2 fold. Firstly it is to give my students a thorough understanding of the Mathematics modules/topics they are studying so that they are able to gain an excellent foundation in studying Mathematics or courses that have a substantial Mathematical content at a higher level. Secondly I give my students intensive and vigorous exam preparation so that they do extremely well in their examinations and achieve high grades. This is usually done by by doing many past papers under exam conditions. I also set my students difficult questions to complete (from many different sources and references). These questions are more difficult than what would normally appear in their actual exams. The purpose of making my students do these questions is so that they are totally prepared to tackle any questions that their exams or tests may throw at them.

Currently, I am developing online educational sessions/material to aid students in learning. My videos have already had more than 100,000 hits. I believe these videos should allow revision when I am not available or refresh what you have learned with me.

Personal Description:
Teaching is part of my life, which I really enjoy!

My teaching career started in 1985 in São Paulo city, and after some years I received a new challenge in a beautiful coastal location. Two schools invited me to teach and I accepted.

Teaching Experience:

Then I had opportunity to improve my career, teaching different subjects like ICT, Statistic, Accounts and Portuguese. Also I helped other teachers to develop ways to improve their classes using modern technology, bringing a new face to the lessons.

A further challenge arrived in my life in 2011 and made me move once again and now I am living in the UK, and I wish to continue my teaching to help you to learn Brazilian or European Portuguese.

No matter what your goals are, travel, business, educational proposal or simply to learn a language, we can work together to achieve them. I have my own material for all levels, ages and needs.

Tutoring Approach:

In a very dynamic class, we talk about music, art, nature, hints & tips that I believe help to build your confident. In a balanced mix of conversation, grammar, exercise, video and books, you will achieve your target in Portuguese Language.

Tuition can be Face2Face or online via Skype, Google Hangout

Personal Description:
Having grown up in an Anglo Italian family in both England and Italy, I am totally bilingual and I have a passion for language teaching in all its aspects.

Teaching Experience:

II have taught both English and Italian language for many years and in all kinds of situations.

- I have taught all ages: from children to senior citizens.

- all levels, from elementary to advanced

- from individuals to university courses of over 100 students

- in a variety of professional contexts for companies

- in my home and in cafes to create an authentic environments.

I love seeing my clients make progress.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in putting students at ease and fostering a positive emotional environment within which the students can learn by doing. Believing there is no greater incentive than success I always adopt a positive approach to teaching.

Although grammar is fundamental to any language, I prefer to teach students collocations (groups of words that commonly go together) than dry grammar rules. I leads to people speaking more instinctively and spending less time worrying about the correctness of what they are saying.

Building confidence in the learner and helping them realise that they can transfer natural communication skills from their first language to their second language is key to their success.

I was a participant of the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) in Iran in 2012 and in India in 2013. In the latter I was awarded a Silver Medal. In 2015 I participated in the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) in India. My knowledge was awarded either Gold or Silver Medals in Physics and Chemistry National Olympiads every year. In the Mathematics and Biology National competitions I received honorable mentions. Now I want to share my knowledge with others in Maths and Natural Sciences.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience of helping 8 students in Higher Physics, Higher Maths, Higher Chemistry, National 5 Physics, National 5 Maths, National 5 Biology and National 5 Chemistry.

Tutoring Approach:

I tend to explain the basic principles firstly, later I am developing students' s ability to solve problems by themselves starting from easy questions and building knowledge to thinking required solutions.

Personal Description:
I am a former primary and secondary school teacher, mainly teaching all the science subjects. I have tutored my son and daughter in the science subjects straight from KS3 through to A-level, especially in biology. Therefore, I have gained extensive knowledge of the sciences, covering a range of exam boards, and also experienced first hand the exam technique needed to achieve the target grade. I would like to transfer this knowledge of biology and revision methods to others who need it, and I am committed to encouraging students to achieve the best grades possible.

I am extremely familiar with the GCSE biology syllabuses and regularly remain up to date with changes in specification and exam dates.

I can also do Maths tutoring for those at the primary school level, and Hindi language tutoring.

Teaching Experience:

Currently tutoring multiple students in primary level maths and english, and also GCSE Biology
Former primary and secondary school teacher

Tutoring Approach:

I like to take an interactive approach to the lessons, where topics are taught through quizzes and questions, which allows me to identify topics the student might find challenging. I explain subjects comprehensively, and often recommend making revision posters as a good way to remember a lot of information, especially with GCSE level subjects.
I also enjoy tutoring younger children of infant and primary level in literacy and numeracy.

Personal Description:
A friendly charismatic tutor with excellent communication skills, varied education thus enabling an adaptable and effective teaching technique. I am enthusiastic about engineering and science and am hopeful in inspiring students as I was. With almost five years' industry experience as a design engineer in the automotive industry. I am now self-employed as a tutor and a CAD design engineer. I am comfortable in teaching all aspects of engineering having taken TEFL and PGCE courses, I am able to transfer and adapt my education for the benefit of students at various levels. Having studied both vocational subjects and academic theoretical subjects I am able to teach technology (resistant materials), physics, maths, electronics from primary school to 1st year university undergraduates.

Teaching Experience:

I Have been tutoring, training and teaching for a total of almost five years. My first experience was just after I graduated in the summer of 2012, by September I had been offered an unconditional place at Jaguar Land Rover. Before long I had been giving the post of project managing a group of apprentices on a community project, which I can proudly say made the Liverpool Echo. my job was to teach them mathematics, electrical theory and installation at NVQ level 2 to to BTEC National certificate level in preparation for when they went to college to get their qualifications. During my time at JLR I had presentations on projects in front of the board of directors. I can't deny that wasn't slightly nerve racking to say the least. Since early 2017 when I have been tutoring whilst being hired for private CAD contracts, therefore i can also teach all aspects of engineering from level one to second year undergraduate.

Tutoring Approach:

I always ask the student if possible to bring with them all lesson materiel, e.g. notes past papers and any handouts acquired at school including any textbooks. I do have my own but the more materiel the better. Students have different ways of learning, for example i found it best to go over as many example questions and past papers as possible. They can send me the work prior to our meeting so I can go over the material before the lesson starts. it saves time for yourself and obviously money. I teach them the technique for a set of questions then I ask them to have a go at similar questions without any help at first. if they have made any mistakes I will go over them after wards. the best way to learn is to make the mistake the first time. You must fall in order to rise (by the way I do not teach philosophy:) ).

PS Engineering was not in the subject list but I can tuition all BTEC, HNC and up to second year Mechanical/Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering subjects. I had one request for a parent to teach their child chess, that would be an honour. I Love chess
