Tutoring Approach:

The communicative approach centered in developing students' skills and abilities is my preferred tutoring approach, but it depends on the students needs. In the first lesson there is an assessment of competence and a learning style evaluation so I can easily tailor the Spanish course according to the needs of the student.
In all cases, Spanish classes include grammar, written exercises, talking and listening, and the writing practices are carried out through the homework (optional)
Also important the mutual evaluation at the end of each class so that both student and myself can correct/improve something that is not going well in order to fulfill mutual expectations, and have an interesting, funny and efficient Spanish lesson every class.

I believe that rows and rows of vocab are not only monotonous but also repetitive, and dare I say it, boring!

My first session with a tutee and their parents is to establish their needs and goals. Together we draw up a plan of the work which we will pursue. This plan will be reviewed regularly and a progress report compiled.

review of any problems which have occurred that week
lesson on a topic previously decided upon
My primary aim is to help my tutees overcome any difficulties which they are having with their work and to help them to achieve their goals both in the short-term and the long term. Before embarking on teacher training, I worked as a teaching assistant in both primary and post-primary settings. Personal Description:
I graduated from Worcester College, Oxford, where I got a Double First in Classics, doing a mixture of literature, history and especially focusing on philosophy. I am now studying at City Law School for the Bar Professional Training Course and will become a pupil barrister in September 2016.

I am enthusiastic and hard-working and I strongly believe in putting all my effort into what I do, so as a tutor I would work hard to try and help bring real improvement.

I was captain of one of my college football teams and also love playing cricket (though perhaps more keen than talented in both of the above!) I was Co-Chair of the Oxford University Labour Club and an elected official at the Student Union, and I also enjoy playing the piano and guitar.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored a number of people via UK tutors in several subjects. My most significant recent achievement is improving a student from an F grade at Latin GCSE to a C (the highest grade possible at Foundation Tier) in just three months. I have also been a voluntary leader on summer camp, which included organizing detailed discussion sessions, and I tutored my sister for her successful Cambridge Philosophy application.

Tutoring Approach:

I would try and keep things as relaxed and informal as possible so the sessions are good fun and try to listen as well as talk so that we can focus on what needs to be worked on and tailor the sessions to individual needs. I think students often underperform not through lack of intelligence but lack of engagement and I would try and find a way to help them enjoy the classes and boost their self-esteem. I love all the subjects I tutor and I'd hope to inject that into my classes!

I am a 25 year old PhD student in Spanish Literature at the University of Cambridge. I have a first class-degree in Spanish and German language and literature as well as an MPhil in Spanish literature which I completed in 2014. I have a range of experience that would make me ideal for teaching young people and adults from beginner up to A-Level standard.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored Spanish to school pupils with learning difficulties at both beginner and GCSE level and helped them to significantly improve their performances.

I was also a group leader at the Villiers Park Educational Trust in Cambridgeshire, aimed at language applicants from less advantaged backgrounds. Throughout the week-long programme I was responsible for delivering a series of seminars as well as one-to-one tuition on subjects as varied as Spanish vocabulary and grammar, to cinema, literature and history. The programme was such a success that I have been invited back as a tutor this year.

Tutoring Approach:

I am available to give online tutoring to young people and adults in Spanish and German from beginner to A-Level standard. I can work you through the basics of the language or the more complex material for advanced students. I'm happy to teach any aspect of the language or culture you need. Personal Description:
Hi there!

My name's Imdad, and I'm currently a Ph.D. student at Trinity College, Cambridge, studying Quantum Computing (Theoretical Physics). I completed my undergraduate degree also in Cambridge in 2012, gaining a First.

Since I was young, I've been fascinated by physics and maths, and I'd love to share my enthusiasm for those subjects with everyone!

Music is another big passion of mine, and I play quite a few instruments - French Horn, Piano, Recorder, Violin, Trumpet, mostly to Grade 8 level. In addition, I'm happy to teach Music Theory up to Grade 8 level. Music has been my biggest extra-curricular activity during my study at university, and I'm currently the President of the Cambridge University Symphony Orchestra.

Teaching Experience:

I've been teaching for many years, both tutoring and teaching in classes. I have tutored students for 11+ exams, helped with GCSE and A Level work, and I currently have students whom I supervise for Mathematics and Physics university courses.

Tutoring Approach:

I pride myself on my ability to explain things in ways that help students grasp the underlying principles of the subject. In my experience, if these basics are understood, a good intuition for the rest of the subject develops very quickly and naturally. I find that GCSEs and A Levels focus much too strongly on teaching a few methods - and a lot of the time, the students find they have no true understanding of the subject, and I do my best to remedy this.

Hello, my name is Tamara. I have just completed a degree in Medical Microbiology and Virology, studying at the University of Warwick. In September 2015 I moved down to Brighton where I have since undertaken training to become a Midwife! I absolutely adore Midwifery - finding the balance between academics and interpersonal relationships. With a long history of science behind me (including a year spent working full time in IVF) I would love to continue my tutoring.

During my time at Warwick I successfully tutored three girls, one at GCSE level, and two at A level who both achieved the grades they needed to continue on to University. I am immensely proud of them both.

I have always have a great passion for Biology and Chemistry, and took them both along with Geography up to A2 level. I am a kind and enthusiastic tutor, and I hope to show all my students this though our time together. I have a very flexible working schedule, and am more than happy to drive to a client's house for tutoring.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience working as a mentor in my secondary school whilst in Sixth Form, to support the younger years. In addition to this I have run summer camps yearly for ages 4-16 and have worked and been responsible for groups of children and teenagers of all ages.

Currently, I am an Ementor for a group of 6 year 13 student, a job I received through working as a Student Ambassador at University. I have weekly online sessions with my students which are used to help them into higher education by talking about revision tips, helping them structure their coursework, and most recently talking through personal statements.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a patient person and take the time to clearly explain things. I find that diagrams particularly help with understanding complex topics, as well as representing basic concepts that can be kept by the students as a solid grounding to a subject, and then elaborated on further in the future. With any new student I am keen for them to tell me particularly what they would like some assistance with and how best they feel they learn, so that over the first few sessions we can build a suitable style of teaching/learning to help the student in the way they feel comfortable with.

I'm a physics student entering my fourth and final year of my Physics MSci degree at Imperial College London having achieved first class results in all three years so far and ranking within the top 10% of my year. Alongside my physics studies, I'm an active musician - a member of the Imperial College Symphony Orchestra, Imperial College Big Band and former member of the NYOW - and an aspiring software developer.

Teaching Experience:

Since beginning 6th form, I have tutored local secondary and primary school students privately, arranged official after-school revision sessions for GCSE students with my school friends, partaken in numeracy schemes for younger secondary school students requiring additional assistance, and was required to present topics, such as energy wastage, to KS3 classes as part of the Welsh Baccalaureate (which I also passed but was unable to fit in the Qualifications section below).

In my second year of university, I enrolled in a Communicating Physics course which entailed visiting, teaching in and providing teaching resources for a London secondary school for a period of 11 weeks. This is also indicative of my continuing enjoyment of, sharing my understanding and passion for my subjects with younger students.

Since 2004 I have been tutoring AS and A2-level students in small groups and one-to-one, and university preparation courses in classes of up to 15 students. I have taught the AQA, Edexcel, and OCR syllabuses. Most of the individual students were re-sitting exams, most of whom improved their grade, often significantly.

First of all I ascertain any particular areas the student needs help with most urgently. I then review the basics with the student to make sure that these have been well understood. I have taught for almost one year and have had a wealth of diverse students all at different abilities and ages. I have taught beginners, intermediates and advanced level guitarists, and have made a huge difference when the student is preparing for a performance examination.

I teach many things but I do expect the student to be practicing during the hours away from the lessons. If you are not willing to make the effort, then neither am I.
