A Royal Academy of Music graduate, I have taught piano privately for over 20 years. As well as children and adults from the ages of 4 to 84, I have tutored and mentored high profile rock musicians, film composers and producers.

I taught composition in the music technology department at London College of Music (Junior College) for twelve years where I became department head from 2004--2012. I was mentor on the MA course in music production at Leeds College of Music from 2006-2009, and have guest lectured at The Academy of Contemporary Music and West Thames College.

As a composer and producer I have two decades of experience writing for theatre, TV, film and the concert hall. I have written string arrangements for bands and worked as session pianist for several artists including Cathal Smyth (Chas Smash from the ska band, Madness).

I like to make my lessons fun and excited, as I believe that a lesson that is boring will not be remembered by the students.
I have learnt over the course of my teaching that students are individuals and cannot be taught the same. What works for one student will not necessarily work for another. Every course can and should be adjusted to suit the different student.
My classes would be packed full of fun with the intention of energizing everyone in it. I enjoy teaching English as it is the language of the world, the internet and the language that is spoken by the most number of countries. I find the enjoyment comes when some who can't speak or pronounce English well at first become confident and fluent over time.
I like to make my lessons fun and excited, as I believe that a lesson that is boring will not be remembered by the students.
I have learnt over the course of my teaching that students are individuals and cannot be taught the same. What works for one student will not necessarily work for another. Every course can and should be adjusted to suit the different student.
My classes would be packed full of fun with the intention of energizing everyone in it. First I will have to assess the student's level, then I can proceed accordingly. I've been working in Education for 16 years as a teacher, tutor, and Educational Psychologist. I started as a teacher of Modern Foreign Languages and I particularly enjoy learning about other cultures - I believe this brings language to life. I have taught French and German in mainstream secondary schools where I prepared students for GCSE, AS and A2-Level exams in both subjects (AQA board). Between 96% and 100% of students achieved a grade C/4. I also have experience teaching children with a wide range of additional needs. I taught in specialist schools for children with moderate, severe, and profound learning difficulties (a range of subjects in Key Stages 1 to 5) and specialist settings for children with social and emotional difficulties (a range of subjects in Key Stages 2 and 4). I have previously tutored French and German to children as young as 5, through to adult learners. This was delivered in a 1:1 or 2:1 setting.
