Personal Description:
I am a Spanish native speaker who has been living and teaching languages (Spanish,German in London for the past fourteen years. I am outgoing, dynamic and passionate about teaching languages.I love seeing how my pupils progress and are able to communicate in another language lesson after lesson. I love travelling and meeting people from all over the world. In the past I lived in Germany for four years where I taught Spanish to students from all backgrounds, ages and levels.

Teaching Experience:

I am a native Spanish speaker and experienced language teacher with recognised QTS. I have been devoted to language teaching in secondary schools in London for the last eleven years. During this time I have taught all levels (KS3/KS4/KS5) in the three languages (Spanish and German ) preparing pupils for GCSE and AS/A level examinations.
Previously I have also worked in private language schools in Spain and in the in public further education sector in Germany, teaching Spanish and German to pupils of all ages and backgrounds. For the last three years I have been devoted to giving private tuition in the twho languages as well as intensive courses (4 to 8 hours a day) to adults (linguistic immersion).

Tutoring Approach:

As a vocational teacher I take a lot of pride in my work and strive to assure all pupils achieve their full potential. I am therefore used to identifying and meeting the needs of students of differing ability, levels, ages and backgrounds and planning accordingly adapting my methods to the student's needs.
I use the communicative approach trying to use the target language as much as possible as I strongly believe languages are tools of communication and therefore they must be spoken.
All in all I try to make my lessons fun, entertaining and applicable to your immediate language needs. For this reason I often use games, role plays, songs, Internet, cards, etc.. so there is no chance to get bored so,I hope to hear from you! Hasta pronto! Bis bald!

Personal Description:
I live in Sutton Coldfield and work in Birmingham. I am currently a Head of Department at a high achieving selective grammar I have been teaching over 13 years and also work for three major exam boards. I have a current and up to date DBS as required in the profession. I have a passion for teaching and love my job. My aim is to inspire students to attain the most they possibly can and believe with the right support that I can deliver the improvement that other tutors can not. My teaching, tutoring and examination experience put me in a unique position to meet student needs at any level. My A level results for Economics are currently for both AS and A2, in the top 8% of the country and I demand the highest standards from my students. I would describe myself as honest and reliable and am happy to provide references and evidence of any professional concern you may have.

I am both a qualified and experienced professional with access to a range of materials from past exam papers, revision guides for all exam boards as well as my own revision guides/notes based upon my examination work. I offer ongoing support outside of structured lesson time. I have tutored online around the world and this medium allows much greater flexibility and is beginning to meet the needs of all learners. Although you may be skeptical at first (I was) I have been receiving very positive comments regarding online tuition and is an exciting new development that allows access to the tutor that most meets your needs from the comfort of your own home with the usual geographical constraints.

Teaching Experience:

I currently teach all the GCSE, AS and A2 Economics at my school as well as teaching A level Business. I work for three major exam boards, CIE international for GCSE and AS papers, (Econ) OCR AS and AQA for A2. I have been involved in examination work for over 8 years. In addition I have experience of tutoring all exam boards at both AS and A2 and have tutored first year undergraduates from the University of Aston and Nottingham.

Tutoring Approach:

Each individual has different needs. Tutoring is a student orientated service. Firstly, I would identify the desired outcomes of the tuition sessions and how we can achieve those outcomes. Depending on the individual this may mean starting by revising work that has been covered at school/college over a period of time but not understood or it could be regular support with work that is currently being covered. In my experience exam preparation and technique is of vital importance and I aim to teach and support students to increase their individual grade potential through knowledge of the exam, it is important that a student is well prepared going into an examination.

I offer both one to one sessions and also run online group lessons for 50% of my one to one fee. The great thing about this is the focus on exam technique and the addition support you can receive online and part of a select group. (You do not have to provide the group)

Above all and what ever tutor you choose it is vital that you get the right tutor with the right experience to get the best possible outcome, please email me to find out more.

Personal Description:
My name is Simon and I am a graduate from the University of Leeds with a strong 1st class degree in Japanese, Russian and Ukrainian languages. I have completed my MA in Japanese cultural studies and now I have recently finished a PhD in Japanese focussing on the international reception of modern Japanese popular culture.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught all three languages, Japanese, Russian and Ukrainian to all levels to various age groups in preparation for exams and or general study for the students own pleasure. I am able to advise on proper essay style for assignments for all levels ranging from primary to university education.

Whilst studying abroad in Japan and Russia as part of my formal studies I taught English as a foreign language in Konan University situated in Kobe, Japan and in Moscow state university in Moscow, thus I am more than prepared and understand the requirements of language learning both from a native speaker level and as a student.

Having lived in both Japan and Russia I am also very aware of, and competent with, colloquial Japanese and Russian language and am prepared to teach both formal language and once a grasp of the language has been achieved I can move onto more colloquial language skills to speak like a true native speaker

Tutoring Approach:

I tutor in a relaxed environment tailored to each individual student's needs and wishes.I will then help the tutee create a work plan, and work through all areas that need attention.

I feel it is important to target the areas in which a student needs and or wishes to improve in so as to boost confidence. Regarding language study, I firmly believe that self confidence is one of the most important aspects to understand so that steps towards fluency can be achieved.

I am friendly, patient and understanding, and appreciate that everyone works at a different pace.

Personal Description:
A maths graduate from the University of Liverpool. Since graduating I have gained significant experience in the commercial, education and charity sectors. a former Commercial director of a regional airport and later having set up the School of Artisan Food I have a wide range of work and life experience which all provide very useful material for my teaching.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience of private tuition dating back to my time at University.

In recent years, I have taught Finance at the University of Derby and my module enjoyed one of the highest pass rates for the year.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is to help the student understand the subject, and not only understand the subject but also how the subject is applied in real life, and indeed to their own lives. I have found this really helps the student to be able to grasp the subject.

We all want exam results, but I like the students to understand what we are doing as this way they get skills that will stay with them long after the exams are over.

I am quite an engaged tutor who is responsible and adaptable to the student. I do not have a one size fits all mentality, in fact it is because I don't have this I enjoy private tutoring. I like to work with the students and build their strengths and help them with any difficulties they may be having.

Personal Description:
I am a 31-year old female languages graduate with a BA(Hons) 2:1 in Modern European Languages from Durham University and a Trinity CertTESOL certificate.. I am approachable and friendly. I believe everyone has the capacity to learn a language and my job as a tutor is to help unlock that potential so you enjoy the learning experience.

Teaching Experience:

I've previously tutored French up to GCSE level and Spanish and Italian up to A-Level standard. I am a TESOL qualified English teacher with experience working abroad and have also tutored primary school children in languages.

Tutoring Approach:

I prefer to tailor my approach to the student, depending on their age, level and what they hope to get out of the sessions, as well as their preferred learning style. For younger children I would tend to include more activities, whereas for students studying for exams I would focus more on helping with coursework, revising topics covered in class, and exercises.

Personal Description:
Hello,

I am a French native living in the UK since 2011. I am enjoying my new life in London.

Currently workin as a Care Assistant in a nursing home, I am also studying to get a teaching qualification. I have been doing one-to-one tuition for a few years now.

My students usually describe me as friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, patient and dedicated (based on students' satisfaction survey carried out by the school)

Teaching Experience:

I have been a private tutor in French since 2012.

I have worked with people of all ages and abilities from primary school children to adult learners.

I have helped many young people improve their level in French and achieve great results for their GCSE'S and A Level's.

I also taught evening classes with a private Language School for one year in 2012 and have gained an amazing experience in teaching. I am really enjoying sharing my knowledge and seeing my students improving, asking useful questions, and having fun after all, speaking a new language as if they had always known it.

Tutoring Approach:

Different abilities and learning difficulties are all taken into consideration to give each student a personalised work plan to meet their needs and expectations in an approach that is non judgmental.

Students are not been made to "feel stupid" about their mistakes but encouraged to learn from them.

The advantages of one-to-one tuition :

-Work on a specific skill (eg. Speaking, listening, writing or grammar)
-Learn from scratch at your own pace
-Boost your confidence (eg. You may be shy to speak in your classroom, or maybe you learned French at school years ago and need some extra help before a trip to France)
-Help your child to learn faster at school in early years.

Regular practice and commitment are strongly advised for best learning results.

NB : I travel to the tutee for free up to 7 miles radius, an additional fee may be required for longer travel distance.

Personal Description:
I studied architecture then moved into the world of film and commercials as a set designer, training at the BBC and moving into the freelance world working on a variety of projects as a Set Designer and Stylist. My drawing skills have always been central to my varied art and design career .
In film I collaborated with a variety of creatives including directors ,lighting, costume, makeup, special effects designers, which was enriching and inspirational. Then I began to paint for other designers on their projects and my artwork became a larger part of my work.
Now I work mainly from my studio in Wimbledon on commissions (including painting ) for films & interiors, portrait commissions and my own personal projects in between tutoring.Drawing, painting, photoshop, collage, photography and model making are used in many of my projects. I currently have a painting in the BP Award 2016 at The National Portrait Gallery,London, then in Lincoln and finally to The Scottish National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh until the end of March 2017.
I continue to be passionate about the visual world, creating and sharing my skills and experience, carefully designing my sessions to respond to the students requirements in an enjoyable and rewarding way.

Teaching Experience:

In recent years I found people came to my studio for advice and inspiration. I was then invited to be a visiting artist at a school in Kingston and began taking workshops for groups of varying age groups and abilities.
I have designed and run workshops for 'Gifted and Talented Children' and have recently been invited to devise workshops for the V&A.Recently I devised and supervised a project for a final year textile design student at Manchester University to work on a project with a working designer .The students I work with at the moment age from 6 years to adults. From Scholarship Applications to students needing help with university projects to professionals requiring assistance with projects.
My City & Guilds course for Delivering Learning enabled me to carefully design the projects to suit the students and their individual requirements.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a great believer in the unique value of creative skills to build confidence and enrich our lives in so many ways.
My sessions are carefully considered and devised to encourage my students to develop their talents and make it an inspirational and enjoyable experience.One-to-one Tutorials are a great opportunity to work on your own skills to enable you to produce that art & design portfolio, better pieces for your GCSE course work or for the practising artist or designer to inspire innovative ideas & concepts, alongside the exploration of materials, process and techniques.

Personal Description:
Hello! My name is Rhea and I love to teach. I am most excited about Art as this is my passion (I am currently working as a Graphic Designer). I also really enjoy learning about science (in particular neuroscience and psychology). I find astrology fascinating and so am both creative and a bit nerdy.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked in both primary and secondary schools as a teaching assistant. This was primarily in art in the secondary school, teaching children how to draw and use various materials to create great artwork. In primary school, I have helped teach literacy, numeracy, phonics, reading, science and art. During these experiences I have found ways of explaining new information to children so they can apply it without supervision. I also have worked in various school holiday clubs, so I relate very well to children.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is individualistic - each person has their own learning style and it is important to understand which way a student learns best. Some people are kinaesthetic learners, others are verbal and some have an amazing ability to memorize information. I am personally a hands on learner, but I am able to adapt to various techniques for students. I am friendly and personable and think it is important to develop a good relationship with tutees.

Personal Description:
Hi I'm Tom. I am 25 years of age and am a graduate from the University of Cambridge with a 2:1 degree in Natural Sciences in which I specialised in Chemistry and Mathematics.
Much like the 'supervision' style teaching of the University of Cambridge, I love to share my passion for problem solving with others on a one-to-one basis.
Outside of academia, my interests include Table Tennis and the Rubik's Cube.

Teaching Experience:

I have 3 years experience tutoring Mathematics and Chemistry at both GCSE and A-Level with students of all abilities.

Tutoring Approach:

I understand that there is no one-size-fits-all method of teaching, and that often there are many correct explanations and solutions to problems.
Each person is different, so if one approach fails we will try again from a different angle to ensure a clear and lasting understanding.
I will aim to work towards the syllabus but am also willing to deviate slightly if the tutee would benefit from a wider understanding of the subject.
I am patient and strive to instil real enthusiasm and confidence in the subject for each student.

Personal Description:
Hi, I am 19 and currently studying engineering at The University of Sheffield. My interests lie very much in academia, majorly, in mathematics and physics. However I also spend my spare time swimming, cycling, socialising and travelling. I have been described as being approachable, easy to talk to and 'good at explaining things'. I offer my first hour of tutoring free of charge.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring for over a year now and I had 8 regular students last academic session whom all gave positive feedback after sitting their exams. I also have tutored GCSE and lower school pupils in the capacity of a teachers assistant in my spare hours during my time in 6th form (a level studies). In terms of A-level maths, I teach C1, C2, C3, C4, M1, M2, FP1, D1.

Tutoring Approach:

I very much believe that the best way to teach is through clear explanation and, where possible, an explanation of the root of things. For example, where particular formulas or ideas are derived from. I also believe every student is different and may require different methods of teaching, perhaps not available in the classroom. I feel am suited towards students who may feel they learn better if they are tutored by someone who is more of a peer than a teacher. I currently only tutor online, as this allows me to offer more time slots to students.

Personal Description:
Hello there. I am an experienced Latin tutor and am currently completing my PhD in Classics at the University of Edinburgh (2013-2017). I have an honours degree from University College Dublin (2008-2012) and a Masters in Classics from Trinity College Dublin (2012-2013).

I truly enjoy tutoring and understand that people come to learn Latin for many reasons. My main aim is to support my students throughout their learning and to help them achieve their own unique goals.

I am also happy to offer Ancient Greek and Old Norse.

Teaching Experience:

I have much experience teaching Latin. I taught Latin to two undergraduate classes at the University of Edinburgh in 2015-2016. This course covered all of the grammar in Wheelock's Latin as well as unadapted Ovid. I received excellent feedback from my students and was nominated for a student teaching award for my work.

I also have much experience teaching younger students and children. I have taught short Latin courses at various primary schools around the country and I was heavily involved in the founding of the Literacy through Latin programme here in Edinburgh, which aims to introduce Latin to state primary schools. As part of this, I spent a year teaching a class of 10 year olds at Liberton Primary School and this experience has provided me with the skills to teach and enthuse younger students.

I believe that an interest in Latin can be sparked at any age and have had great experiences with casual learners. Most recently, I worked with a tutee in her 50s who had no previous experience of Latin.

I have also received formal tutor training at the University of Edinburgh between 2014-2016.

Tutoring Approach:

Latin truly is the key to languages and I know from my own experience that the skills and tools acquired through Latin make learning other languages a much easier process.

I believe that translation is the best way to learn a language and therefore, I always tailor work to each individual student and adapt my teaching to their specific needs.

I know that language learning can make people very anxious and so I always approach my tutoring with the utmost patience and aim to provide care and support throughout the journey.

To put it simply, I love languages and I love Latin and I aim to impart this enthusiasm to all of my tutees.

Personal Description:
Having graduated less than 6 months ago, I was a student and school pupil very recently too, meaning I can offer a different perspective and approach to most teachers and textbooks.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring since my final year of school and always with good results. Most importantly, I have always managed to build good relationships with my students and establish the relaxed and informal atmosphere so important for productive learning.

Tutoring Approach:

Everyone learns differently and I will find the best way for you, focusing on understanding rather than rote learning. This is much easier and more effective in a relaxed and easy-going atmosphere, something I try to establish in every session: learning doesn't have to be a chore!

Personal Description:
Hi,
I am a qualified primary school teacher. I graduated in 2009 from Roehampton University with a BA Primary Education degree with QTS and have been teaching for 8 years.

Teaching Experience:

My experience ranges from Foundation Stage to Key stage 2. Meaning from nursery to year 6.
Working with a broad age range of children, has allowed me to have knowledge about the different ways children learn. Which has enabled me to have a range of different teaching styles, to suit each child as an individual. I feel that I would make an exceptional tutor for your child as over my teaching career I have enabled children to make exceptional progress. I also have experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs such as Autism and Cerebral Palsy. Showing that not only am I a warm and welcoming presence but I am also compassionate.

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring approach would be similar to my approach to teaching. I would find out where my student is academically first, then to the steps to fill in the gaps in their learning. Therefore, ensuring they continue to make progress.
