Teaching Experience:

For Mandarin:
I received Certificate for Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages from Confucius Institute Headquarters.
I've also passed Mandarin Level Test with the level of B1.
During my college years, I taught Chinese through language exchange with my language partners, one from Minnesota, U.S., the other from South Korea.
For Computer Science:
I received my Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science in the July of 2016.
During my second summer vacation in college, I volunteered as math teachers for adults, helping them to prepare for College Entrance Exams for Adults.

Personal Description:
I am a university student currently studying at the university of St Andrews for a Honours program in Zoology. I am a native French speaker ( I actually am French) and was awarded the distinction of best French A-level results in East Africa in 2011, with a score of 499/500. I performed well both at IGCSE'S and A-levels ( IGCSE 6 A*'s and 4 A's, geography, Chemistry and Biology were among the A*'s, and are the subjects I took at A level, in which I achieved A* AA in the same order).
Last year, after a long and complicated admission process, I was offered a place to go study at Oxford University, but unfortunately had to decline it due to financial hardship.
I have lived in Kenya for now 7 years, and have a genuine interest in animal behaviour and conservation.

Teaching Experience:

I do not have much experience when it comes to teaching to be perfectly honest, although I often volunteered to be a student helper for those who had difficulties with certains subjects in my whole school. I am very familiar with the A-level syllabus by CIE, and the exam techniques required at this particular exam board.
I can offer advice and assistance with university application process too, as I was tutored to match Oxford requirements in terms of personal statements and interviews, I can also give you some tips about the Oxford interview processes.

Tutoring Approach:

I will first ask the person to tell me by email what their difficulties are, and what they would like us to go through together so that I can get together the information and any details necessary before meeting and discussing it. I am fairly flexible, everyone learns in a different manner and I will try my best to match my tutoring to the person's learning habits.

I have been a private tutor for the past 14 years preparing students for +11, +13 exams in English and Maths. I also teach Maths up to AS level (C1 and C2).

I am a certified therapist in PhonoGraphix method for addressing spelling and reading difficulties both for children and adults.

As a tutor, I encourage my students to reflect upon their mistakes and to understand how to tackle the next step of their learning, without having a negative response.

I usually have the first lesson together with the parents so that the student feels comfortable and parents can observe my teaching; I present a folder containing the CRB form, qualifications, QTS certificate and letters of recommendations from parents. I teach from home in a calm and stimulating environment.
The first lesson is only paid if the parent decides to continue tuition.

I studied at Trinity College, Cambridge and I am now a full time theatre director, working freelance. I worked as a volunteer teacher at an international school in Swaziland for three months, running drama classes and English classes. I also coached the school rugby team. In the drama classes I focused very much on basic dramatic skills through games and exercises, while the English classes were much more specific, focusing on Shakespeare texts and working in particular on Graham Swift's 'Waterland', which was a set text for the IB exam that year. I am currently affiliated with the National Youth Theatre as well as several drama schools; I work with educational projects in theatres and drama schools around London, working closely and extensively with students and young people.

Tutoring Approach:

When I tutor I like to be very open and conversational with the student. What is especially important is that the student comes away with the belief not that they have been dictated to, but that they have discovered things for themselves. I ask a lot of questions, guiding the student towards a conclusion rather than imposing it directly. This makes for a very interactive and exciting experience, an experience that contrasts perfectly with the proscriptive, curricular methods of traditional schoolteaching.

My approach also enables me to adapt to the needs of each individual student, and to have conversations both with them and with their parents. I recognise that each tutee has specific, unique needs, and I am totally prepared to adjust my style to such needs.

Last year, I completed my funded PhD on Samuel Beckett and Theodor W. Adorno at Royal Holloway, University of London. I completed my Masters study in Literature and Philosophy in September 2012, graduating with Distinction, and received a First Class Honours BA in English from Royal Holloway in 2010. Between my Undergraduate and Masters study I worked for a year as an Editorial Assistant in the Health Sciences division of Hachette UK.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a Visiting Lecturer at Royal Holloway since September 2014 and have taught on the courses 'Modernist Literature'; 'Reorienting the Novel'; 'Inventing the Novel'; 'Fundamental Questions in Philosophy'; and 'Special Author: Samuel Beckett'. I have received excellent student feedback, with over 95% of my students agreeing that the seminars significantly furthered their knowledge. Teaching Experience:

I have a formal teaching experience and worked as a Lecturer Mechanical Engineering. I have been giving the tutorial lectures at Loughborough University to engineering undergraduates during my PhD. I have also tutored (and currently tutoring) physics and mathematics to a number of GCSE and A-levels students.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching approach is to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in which students feel more confident to raise questions. I like to listen to my students being at their level to address and identify the basic difficulties that they face in understanding the subjects. I try to involve the students in problem solving and present the subjects in an interesting manner with the help of useful hints that are often required and proved to be helpful to provoke the original thought in order to improve their analytical skills. I find myself committed and patient and I believe that such teaching skills make me ideal for tutoring. I frequently highlight the practical implications of the subjects where possible so that the students could relate the subjects to their future careers. I am be willing to concentrate on the specific areas that the student requests. The focus of my approach is to prepare the students for the exams by developing the analytical thinking in order to solve the problems. Teaching Experience:

I have tutoring experience at both A-Level and University level, in addition to experience with small group teaching at Cambridge University, where I taught first year undergraduates in classes of 10. At the other end of the spectrum, I have an 11 year old sister and am very used to helping her out with homework, and know the challenges involved in teaching young kids too.

I place a big focus on being friendly and approachable to students, to help make sure they feel relaxed, which I believe is very important for effective leaning. I've been living in England for over 15 years, most of them in a tranquil town of Bradford on Avon. I'm a keen reader and chair a reading group. I have two extremely bright and boisterous boys, both of them completely bilingual, talking, reading and writing in both languages from an early age. I find that teaching comes very natural to me however I use all the latest techniques recommended by teaching authorities.

For the last three years I've been contracted to teach Russian Language for MoD, which means that sometimes I can be extremely busy but most of the time I still have sessions available.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in using different ways of teaching and learning approaches (VAK). I recognize the necessity of inclusion, equality and diversity, to approach the learners differently according to their needs. During my PTLLS course I learnt how to plan my lessons using scheme of work and lesson plan. Writing lesson plan was particularly useful as it helped me to break it down into parts in order to monitor progress and plan the lesson better time-wise I also like to use different resources, including e-learning as well as textbooks, spreadsheets and printouts. I obtained my law degree from Queen Mary University of London. Then I studied the Legal Practice Course as well as the MA (LPC with Business). Finally, I have completed my Bar Professional Training Course and I have been called to the Bar in July 2016 .

I am from Cyprus, thus I speak, write and read fluent Greek as well. Despite my country of origin, I have been living in UK for six years and I can confidently say that I am fluent in English. I have obtained 8 out of 9 in IELTS.

Despite my academic background, I always participate in various volunteering projects. I have worked in Ireland at Barretstown camp where I had to supervise children from all over the world. I have been a student adviser at the Legal Advice Clinic since 2014. I have been the student director in the call screening part of the Legal Advice Clinic since October 2015.

I am a really hard-working and organised person and this can be justified by the fact that while I was studying the BPTC and being a student adviser and student director, I have been working part time in a law firm.

I believe that there is always enough time if you use it wisely!!

Teaching Experience:

For the past five years, I have been tutoring students of various ages. I have worked with younger students up to the age of 18 by assisting them with their homework and their yearly exams. Furthermore, I have been teaching IELTS to people who either were interested in taking the particular exam or just improve their English.
I have helped students to learn Greek from scratch.
Finally, since I have been studying law for the past five years, I am extremely confident and I am helping a lot of law students with their assignments, final assessments and re-sits.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught A-Level Economics for the last 2 years at a non-selective private school. Last year, 1/4 of my students achieved 100 UMS at A2 and 1/3 achieved an A*. One student had achieved a D at AS and finished with an A* with a UMS average of 95. Prior to this, I played and coached sport at an International Level so have a real understanding of learning and how to help people improve, often starting with behavioural change and combining this with activities to maximise the students' learning. I also tutored several students last year including a mature student, all achieved the grades they required.

Tutoring Approach:

I use nudges to change behaviours in my students on an individual basis. We need to get to the stage where the student is comfortable teaching the subject matter to me and the whole course is connected rather than studied in isolation. I am incredibly supportive and adaptable to the individual but I the sessions will always be a challenge.

I have been involved in martial arts for over 14 years now and enjoy the process of teaching others how to better protect themselves. In my current main job, I teach and train members of staff and provide workforce development for over 1000 staff members on a variety of topics. My second job is as a Kickboxing and Self Defence Instructor at the University of Sunderland, where I have worked for over 7 years.

My peers and tutors have told me that my mannerisms and personality lend itself well to instructing and teaching. I am patient, understanding and explain subjects in an accessible way. A personalised, considerate and professional approach. I would speak to you to find out what needs that you have, for example if you encounter situations at work or in your personal life, and then train you in a bespoke, specific way to deal with those issues. If there are no specific issues you are looking to cover, then a general overview would be covered that is useful for all walks of life.

Every step of the way I will explain concepts, reinforce them with real-life examples and ensure that, in your mind, you have confidence in the techniques I will be teaching. Reliable and qualified Maths Teacher with 20+ years of experience of tutoring individuals and groups.

I care deeply about teaching and learning in general and the teaching of mathematics is a particular passion for me. I am a secondary school mathematics teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). I have completed a BSc in Accounting, an ACCA qualification and a PGCE course. I am currently studying for my MSc Education degree. I have 20+ years experience as a tutor and 10+ years as a teacher. I have also worked for an acounting firm for 5 years and worked as a company director for 7 years.

My first session is provided free of charge and I use this session to understand the needs of prospective pupils. At the end of the session, I have a frank and honest discussion with the pupil and/or their guardians. I use these conversations to listen to the concerns of the pupils and/or their guardians and present an outline of my assessment of the student's areas of strengths and weaknesses. I also suggest a course of action to help the pupil move forward.

Teaching Experience:

I have been providing tuition in mathematics for over 20 years and have been a secondary school Mathematics Teacher for over 10 years. I have tutored A Level, university, AAT, CAT, ACCA, CIMA and CIPFA students in accounting for over 10 years and have 5 years experience teaching professioanl accounting courses in private colleges. I have experience teaching to individual students, to small groups and to classes of up to 35 students. I have helped four year old pupils take their first steps in arithmetic and forty plus year old students finally understand how algebra works. In accounting I have worked with 16 year olds studying accounting for the first time for A Levels or CAT or AAT and 40+ year olds who have working in accounting for a long time and are studying for their professional exams.

I have helped students gain confidence in their own mathematical ability when they have been convinced by the academic system that they are incapable of doing well in the subject. I have also helped higher attaining students to challenge themselves and aspire to become even better. Most recently my Year 7 students were the only gold medallists in the UKMT Junior Mathematics Challenge in my secondary school. They did considerably better than all the other Year 7 students and even all the Year 8 students in the school who sat the same exam.

Tutoring Approach:

During the last two decades I have worked with many hundreds of students and have read research studies from academics around the world on the subject of attainment in mathematics. My own experience is in keeping with all the studies I have read about this topic. The overwhelming majority of students can do well in mathematics provided they have the confidence, the techniques and willingness to work hard. Even after only six to eight weeks of tuition, all the students I have tutored have improved by at least one grade or one level.

I tell all prospective pupils there is no magic bullet or shortcut. To achieve success in mathematics a few things are key: understanding the concept well; understanding when and how to apply it in different situations; lots of practice in applying it in different scenarios and short, regular revision sessions. So my only pre-conditions before I agree to work with any student are: a positive attitude; a commitment to put in the time and effort required to bring about the improvement in their grades; and at least one ninety minute session every week.

It is important to me that students should enjoy mathematics and look forward to their sessions with me. To ensure this I use a variety of different resources to explain concepts to students and am a firm believer in using physical and computer based study tools and aides to complement the standard oral and written tools used to teach mathematics. I also believe in linking the mathematics that we study to the real world to increase students' engagement with the topic and their understanding of its relevance. I am very patient and empathetic to my student's needs and once they develop in confidence I encourage all my students to challenge themselves regularly. Depending on the amount of time available, I usually help students cement their mastery of the foundations of arithmetic and algebra before moving on to establish fluency in statistics, geometry and problem solving.
