Personal Description:
Hello,
I`ve been tutoring Mathematics at all levels since 1996. Have an outstanding record of getting students top grades. I encourage a hard work ethic and discipline.

For A'level and GSCE students, material is taught as per their exam board requires, with plently of emphasis on the importance of past paper revision.

For younger children I specialise in Vendic Mathematics, subtraction via addition, estimate and adjust, etc. As well as applying the story book method to assist a childs memory techniques.

All students are taught about goal setting principles, motivating themselves and not settling for real and achievable standards.

Teaching Experience:

Have been teaching one-to-one since 1996. Software Engineer by trade.

Tutoring Approach:

Secret to my teaching style is to deliver the subject in a manner that appeals to the student.
Using examples that are relavent to the student's interest are key to understanding.

Personal Description:
I am a Master's student from Sheffield University. I completed my MSc (Research) in 2004 and have been in the Building Services Industry as a consulting engineer for the past 11 years. I have undergone a CRB check as part of my professional work.

I have always loved to teach, I used to teach undergraduates while I was at University. I like to be a tutor as it helps empowering people and enlightening lives. I shall try to make learning core concepts as easy as possible in order to make learning a highly enjoyable experience.

I have more than a thousand E-Books covering all aspects of Engineering, Maths, Mechanics, Engineering Thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, CFD, Strength of Materials, Heat Transfer in short all Engineering Sciences, I shall provide relevant E-Books to my Tutees for free to help them learn the core fundamentals and also to enable them to do further examples and case studies to reinforce the learning process.

I have got very good feedback and reviews from past students who have passed their exams with good marks.

Awards:
Won the Outstanding Contribution to Sustainability in the Industry (2007)

Teaching Experience:

I have been involved in teaching ever since I was at University to my fellow juniors and here in the UK, I have always loved teaching as a hobby, as it a powerful tool for empowerment.

I have sucessfully taught Engineering Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics to 2nd and 3rd year Engineering students. I have assisted 2 students projects in CFD analysis and Gas Turbines till date. My teaching style involves concentrating on the core concepts in the derivations rather than concentrating on the Maths and then scaling upwards to enable the student to appreciate the Physics and the Maths involved.

However, please note that these subjects are not currently covered under UK Tutors list, these are specialist subjects for which I charge a higher fee depending upon the complexity of the subject as it requires me to do a bit of preparatory study to teach these subjects. I shall advise you of my fee for these subjects after interacting with the pupils.

Tutoring Approach:

I try to make core concepts in Physics and Maths as easy to enable the pupil to understand the concept. Once the foundation is laid properly, additional information can be added to complete the overall structure.
Chemistry involves a bit of rote learning but again core concepts if clear make learning chemistry enjoyable with loads of FUN !!!

I am also looking at online coaching for those candidates who have to travel too far (excess of 20 miles), this is brilliant as it can achieve the same result without the hassle of travelling by using a combination of skype / video conferencing and team viewer. The pupil would need these free to download softwares and off we go !. If the tutee is nearby (1-2 miles) I don't mind driving to teach. We can always work out something optimal between us.

Personal Description:
I can provide tuition in a wide range of Economics and Business related subjects e.g. Marketing, Accounting, HRM. I live in the Bournemouth area but am willing to travel to provide tuition and I am also able to provide Skype/e-mail tuition for those students who live a long distance from me. I will also provide references from past students, reflecting the value added I can offer you, in order that your grades will improve. I am able to help anyone at any level, from GCSE up to Masters and beyond.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching and lecturing for over 25 years and have accumulated much experience which I am able to pass on to my students. One of the key benefits I can offer you as a student is providing critical analysis and evaluation when completing your assignments. This is extremely important for grading and often means the difference between a 2:1 and 2:2 or higher. For the dissertation it is fundamental, but even in year one and for Foundation degrees it is essential. I will thus ensure all your coursework is focussed, adheres to the assignment grading spec and includes critical analysis and evaluation.

Tutoring Approach:

I can provide specialised and comprehensive notes which will assist you in your learning. I can give coursework or assignment help (planning, writing, editing, suggesting improvements etc) and assistance with your exam preparation. If you live a long distance away you can e-mail your assignments/coursework to me for editing and improvements. I will then e-mail them back to you with the improvements. I am also able to help you via Skype if you live a long distance from me. So even if you do not live in Bournemouth I am still able to help you.

Personal Description:
Experienced tutor for A-level and Degree Chemistry. Throughout my academic and research career I have developed a passion for chemistry and teaching and have been extensively involved in the tutoring and mentoring of students across a range of levels over many years. I have a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Bristol in addition to a 1st Class Masters Degree in Chemistry from the University of Edinburgh. I am currently employed as a Senior Research Scientist in the North East with responsibilities including the training and mentoring of chemistry undergraduate students from a range of Universities.

Teaching Experience:

My passion for teaching started during my PhD where I taught practical and theoretical chemistry to numerous undergraduates, with particular focus on 1st year students struggling with key concepts to guide them through exams. Since then, I have continued to teach and mentor chemistry across a range of levels with particular focus on helping A-Level chemistry students struggling to get the grips with key concepts.

Tutoring Approach:

I adopt a systematic and logical approach to teaching using 'real-life' examples and models where ever possible to aid the students understanding and visualisation of the problems. This approach not only assists their immediate understanding of the subject, but come exam time, also helps them to identify the correct answer to the problems in front of them. I am available most evenings for tuition, so please feel free to contact me for more information or a quick chat.

Personal Description:
I am an experienced and qualified EFL teacher, living in Sheffield.

I was born and raised in Sheffield, and studied Psychology at Newcastle University. I spent last year teaching English to school children in Vietnam. Before my time in Vietnam, I taught academic English to overseas Masters and Degree students at Newcastle University.

Teaching Experience:

2010-2011 Hanoi, Vietnam: Teaching English to school children (8-16 years old)

2010 Newcastle University, UK: Teaching academic English to overseas Degree and Masters students

2009 Newcastle, UK: Teaching school children (4-15 years old)

Tutoring Approach:

Our first meeting is free. Here we can get to know each other, and you can tell me what you want from the lessons. (Do you want help with your university work / everyday English / pronunciation / reading / listening /.? Do you want any homework? How often do you want to meet? ). After the first meeting, you can decide if you would like to start lessons with me.

I will then prepare some lessons, tailored to your requirements. After the first few lessons, I will identify your strong and weak areas, and you can tell me what you like or don't like about the lessons.

My lessons are relaxed and friendly - it's your time and money, so you should enjoy it!

Personal Description:
I have been a teacher all my professional life, although for ten years I worked in the theatre as an actor, fight director and singer. I love teaching and I love music. Most importantly, perhaps, I have never stopped learning!

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching English, French and German for 25 years. I studied English at Oxford; worked in Germany, studied in Spain and have my main home in France. I recently trained in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, so I feel up to date with current teaching methodology. Nevertheless, I adapt my teaching style and methods to benefit my tutees. I teach adult evening classes and give private tuition in French, German and English Literacy.

Tutoring Approach:

I will come to your home and talk to you about what your learning requirements are and will tutor in order for you to maximise your potential in line with your requirements. All tutees have different learning styles and preferences, too, so I will pick up on yours and shape our lessons accordingly. We will work proactively, and there will be specific goals and targets for each lesson so that you will be able to chart your progress. My colleagues think I have a great sense of humour, and I have sometimes found it to be helpful in a teaching situation. I am, however, totally professional in the conduct of my lessons and tutorials.

Personal Description:
I obtained Ph.D. in mathematical optimisation from Loughborough University in 2012. Teaching is my only profession and training students from 11+ to masters level.

During my GCSE and A level, 95-99℅ is my usual marks for my favourite subjects. I learned in-and-out of these subjects thoroughly, and I believe these subjects became part of my life.

My strengths in teaching are the exclusive knowledge of physics and maths.

Teaching Experience:

Personal Description:
I graduated in Classics (5 years) in Italy. I made extensive studies in Ancient Greek and Latin languages and literatures. The final thesis dealt with the historical fragments of Cato the Censor. I am now leading a research doctorate in Roman history at the University of Newcastle. The research concerns the tribunes of the plebs within the Mid-Republican period (218-134 BC), especially focused on the political role of the tribunate in shaping the Roman politics through their legislative action. My first language being Italian, lessons are available both in English and in my mother tongue. As for the Italian literature I can cover all the centuries of its great history, from the pre humanistic time (Dante, Petrarca, Boccaccio), until the twentieth century.

Teaching Experience:

I have had experience of teaching in the italian school as a substitute teacher of Latin, Italian and Ancient Greek at the Liceo Classico. I also taught at Universities, most notably Latin and Ancient Greek, in quality of private tutor.

I run seminars in Roman History during the first academic term (2015-2016) at Newcastle University, focusing particularly on the works of the Greek historian Polybius, Sallust's historiographical view concerning the role of the common Roman people in order to determine the events described within the Bellum Iugurthinum, and the political issues of the last period of the Roman Republic that emerge from Cicero's speech Pro lege Manilia.

Tutoring Approach:

Lectures, with particular attention to the requests of the student. Translation exercises (focused on the morphology and syntax of both Ancient Greek and Latin), which are essential to strengthen and, if necessary, to deepen their knowledge of the classical languages. Additional readings compared to the tasks assigned by the school.

Personal Description:
Postgraduate Student.

I am a twenty-one year old postgraduate student at the University of Glasgow. I enjoy helping students reach their full potential and understand the tricky bits of their material which is escaping their understanding. I am a Canadian studying abroad here in Glasgow and therefore do not have GCSEs or A levels, but I have the equivalent levels from Canadian institutions with top marks. I tutor best in history, my chosen subject, English or French as a second language, and maths, which I not only did well in during secondary school, but all of which I have also studied at the University level. I get along very well with students of all ages and try to make the tutoring experience a fun an interesting one for any student.

Teaching Experience:

Tutoring 1 on 1
ESL teaching (Group sizes from 5-12)
Age range of experience: 7-18 year olds

I have several years of teaching experience in different settings and with different age groups. I've taught English as a Second Language in a camp setting which ran lessons similar to classroom lessons every morning. I had to design my own approaches to various topics which gave me a lot of practice in making studying and learning interesting and easier for children who were less interested or struggling. I also tutored on a private basis for primary school-aged children through the medium of French and English in reading and writing skills as well as the general subjects at that age. I have tutored at the secondary school level in Maths, English, French, Sciences, and History. I have also been a teaching assistant at the University level for both Irish and Scottish Gaelic second language courses as well as a general Celtic World knowledge course.

Tutoring Approach:

Learning should be fun.
Aim is to help student learn how they understand instruction so that they are more confident in their own abilities and can perform better in the future.
Use past work to improve on future work.

Learning should be fun and I strive to make the tutoring experience less about school work and more about understanding the ways in which what is being taught is of interest to the student. Finding ways to improve the student's understanding and learning experience sometimes means approaching the material in a different way than is being taught in class. Teachers understand that not all student learn the same way but cannot always deliver their teaching in all these ways. By helping the student understand the material first and then explaining the method the teacher used to explain it first allows the student to reach their full potential, understand the material, and go back to class with a better chance following the teacher's instruction.

All of this is done in a light-mannered way that does not make the child feel as though tutoring is a punishment for not understanding in class, but rather, a (sometimes lengthy) temporary situation until the student becomes more confident about his or her own skills!

Using the student's own work is an important tool for helping them recognize their own areas of difficulty and should be used again as mock exams to help the student see tangible proof of their improvements. The best understanding of any subject comes from watching it being done/having it explained, doing it oneself, and then teaching it in turn.

My approach to tutoring is more about deliver tutee expectation. I believe different tutee has different expectation from the class. I would tailor the class to meet student's expectation. I also like to be measured on what I will deliver.

Personal Description:
I am a very well qualified and very experienced teacher of both German and English as a Foreign Language. I have a Master's of Education, a BA (Hons) in German, a PGCE and an RSA Diploma in TEFL. Having lived and worked in Germany for over seven years, I also have near-native competence in German.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching German and EFL for more than 30 years from beginners to advanced level. I used to teach German to GCSE and A level at what used to be Plymouth College of Further Education as well as EFL from Cambridge KET to Cambridge Proficiency. In addition to that I have prepared many students for the IELTS exam and I have taught Business English and English for Academic Purposes too. I have worked in the UK, Germany, Spain and the United Arab Republic.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that it is essential to establish the needs of each individual student so that a tailor-made course can be designed for that particular student. That does not mean that my approach is inflexible, however - if one approach to teaching does not suit the individual learning needs of the student, I will endeavour to teach the student in a way that they are happy with and which will lead to the best possible results.
As a teacher of foreign languages I very much favour the communicative approach but I am also more than willing to teach grammar as this also plays an important role in language learning. As languages are meant for speaking I place a great deal of importance on oral work - particularly at GCSE and A level - but once again, the needs of each individual learner are paramount. For oral conversation, I am happy to teach using SKYPE.

Personal Description:
Hello!

My name is Jessica and I offer private German tuition. Whether for your GCSEs, A levels or an upcoming holiday, I can help you improve your language skills in a friendly, informal environment. Though born in the UK, I have strong German roots as my mum is German and I was brought up bilingually. I have an A* in GCSE German, an A in A level German (before they did A* for A level!) and a first class joint honours degree in French and German with distinction in spoken German from the University of Nottingham. I lived in Berlin for three years after my first degree, and go to visit family in the Black Forest region a couple of times a year. I am currently training as a Speech and Language Therapist via De Montfort University, so know too well what it means to learn and study for exams. I am DBS checked

I look forward to hearing from you.

Teaching Experience:

I worked as a foreign language assistant in Trier, an English teacher in a Berlin Kindergarten and a Business English teacher in Paris, giving me valuable language teaching experience with children, adolescents and adults.

Tutoring Approach:

I absolutely love Germany, the German language and German grammar - hopefully that enthusiasm comes across in my lessons. I ask that students tell me in advance what they would like to achieve from my tutoring, and always ensure I prepare accordingly. When teaching I like to create a relaxed and informal atmosphere, and welcome feedback at any point.

Personal Description:
I enjoy teaching maths and physics and I have had previous experience of teaching maths for a tutoring organisation. I am an 18 year old student in my final year of school (RGS Newcastle), currently studying towards 4 A levels in Physics, Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Economics. This combination of mathematical subjects has enabled me to develop a solid foundation of mathematics, as well as physics, which I am able to trickle down to the students I teach. However primarily I really enjoy tutoring as it provides me with an opportunity to interact and support young persons of varying ages, from primary all the way up to A level. It is fascinating to watch and support them as they develop and to push them to reach their true potential whilst refining my own skills.

Aside from teaching Mathematics and Physics, I would also be able to provide some advice about applying to universities for Economics/Maths-related courses as studying at the London School of Economics is my chosen career path for the future, and I went through the application process last year so it is very familiar. I would also be open to helping with personal statement writing and structure as part of the application process.

Please text me to get in touch.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a class assistant for Kumon Educational UK tutoring organisation for the past 2 years which has provided me with experience in teaching children of all ages, ranging from 6 to 17 years of age. Through this experience, I have taught children first-hand and this has strongly facilitated my role as a tutor.

I have completed a Sports Leadership qualification, in which I taught children basic sports skills and learnt how to communicate and cooperate with children of different ages.

I have had experience as a Lance Corporal for the NRGS Combined Cadet Force, in which I taught lessons to juniors in military craft as well as leading juniors in military exercises.

I am a 1st degree Blackbelt Instructor for the Newcastle Blackbelt Academy and through this role I have developed a high degree of focus and discipline. I have had experience in teaching junior students as well as leading classes of people of all belt degrees, adults and children.

Tutoring Approach:

Particularly in the case of tutoring children, I have had a lot of previous experience. I am able to cater to the needs of all kinds of children and have developed a knowledge of where children are likely to make errors and how to teach both simple and complex ideas in a palpable manner so that they are able to understand and progress with their learning. I look to target specific areas in which there are strengths and weaknesses and try to iron out any difficulties, one by one, before progressing onto the next idea.

Conceptually, I would like to create a strong foundation and try to perfect their knowledge of the basics before applying it to further concepts and doing it in this way allows future, more difficult problems to fall apart and be solved more easily.

I would like student to bring their own materials, books, textbooks etc relevant to their course or stage of learning and once the individual needs of the student, relative strengths and weaknesses, exam boards have been discussed, we can develop a plan. I am also able to offer additional material such as worksheets or practice questions if required.

Available on Monday, Wednesday and Sunday (Evenings).
