Personal Description:
I am a 28 year old Masters student taking a career break from advertising to study full time in an area I am passionate about - International Development, at SOAS in London. I previously graduated from the University of Manchester in 2010, where I studied French and Spanish as a Joint Honours, and received a 2:1 with a Distinction in spoken Spanish. I love languages and take great pleasure in passing on this enthusiasm to others!

Teaching Experience:

-I was a teacher's assistant for the head of the French department at Altrincham Grammar School for Boys in June 2010. I assisted in teaching Years 7 and Upper Six, and all years in between with class sizes ranging from 6 to 32. I attended 12 hours of training on behavioral management, how to engage pupils and effective teaching prior to this placement which prepared me well.

Lucy

Personal Description:
I am a 27 years old Chinese girl, and doing my master degree in Public Relations in Leeds University from August 2013. I have approved Mandarin Certificate and fluent English. I will stay in Leeds since 2013.

I do Mandarin since I arrive UK, and I do Chinese tutor almost for 5 years

My hometown is in the north of China, and 15 minutes by train from Shenyang. Shenyang is a famous history city and was the capital of early Qing Dynasty. There also a Imperial Palace in Shenyang, and it is a city full of Chinese culture. I grow near there and nourished under the Chinese culture. And I have almost 1 year working experience in Shanghai, China.

Now, I have an internship both in St. George's Crypt, and I can have Chinese tuition on Sunday.

I am patient and like kids.
I like talking with people and making friends.
My hobbits are swimming and indoor hiking.
I think you will find easy and have lots of fun to study and practice Chinese with me.

Teaching Experience:

Three tuition now in England:
One is teaching a 30-year-old man Mandarin every next Thursday.
Another two are teaching children Mandarin on Sunday (One is 8-year-old, and another is 10-year-old)

Previous teaching experience:
Teach a 12-year-old boy mandarin in Leeds;
Teaching English to high school student for 3 months. He got a fairly good English language grade in final College Entrance Examination, and we are still friends now and talks with each other sometimes.
Taking care of 4 year old child and teaching her English for almost 1 month during my summer holiday.

Working Experience:
I worked in a social media agency in Shanghai, and I was charged of writing articles and Weibo (Facebook in China) status.

I published 3 academic articles with my tutors during undergraduate study and they are respectively about Chinese paintings, Chinese higher education and advertising (my bachelor degree is advertising). I have a good skill in writing.

Personal Description:
I am an enthusiastic and experienced teacher with a real passion for languages. This has led me to travel widely within Europe and amass a great deal of experience of other cultures. That and my belief in 'having a go' at communicating has led me to learn the basics of quite a few languages and given me plenty of material for (short) 'instructional anecdotes', based on various scrapes and international misunderstandings! Languages should be fun and we should never be afraid to try them out! My other passion is music - a truly international language - and I enjoy my weekly instrumental lessons and playing with my local (amateur) orchestra.

Teaching Experience:

I hold degree level qualifications in English, French, Spanish and German and have over 30 years' experience of teaching languages, in both private and state schools and Sixth Form and Further Education colleges, where I have prepared students for a range of examinations and other qualifications. I have particular expertise in helping students bridge the gap between GCSE and AS level - and I love grammar! I have also worked as a private tutor and as a provider of courses and interpreting services for local businesses. My students have ranged in age from 8 to 80-plus. I teach Spanish and French to A level and can also offer German and Italian to intermediate level and basic introductory courses in Russian and Latin. I also offer conversational English for speakers of other languages.

Tutoring Approach:

Lessons usually take place in my home, but I am also willing to travel to you or to a venue of your choice. In the latter case I would need reasonable time and travel expenses. I can offer day-time or evening lessons, any day of the week. My hourly rate is 25, though I offer lessons of any length to suit you (charged pro rata). The same rate applies irrespective of the group size. Tutoring can be 1-to-1, small-group or, if you can provide a suitable venue, in a group of up to 15. I can offer intensive tuition or courses of various lengths (though exam candidates must make their own arrangements to sit papers). Alternatively, I can offer coaching and support for those already studying elsewhere. Each course is tailor-made to suit your exact requirements - and I aim to make each lesson fun!

Personal Description:
I have been teaching for 7 years and am currently taking a break to complete my Masters degree in cognitive neuroscience. I have most recently been teaching Psychology, Sociology and Health and Social care to A-level students.

I am a cheese loving, psychology adoring, fitness freak who enjoys blogging about dance, weightlifting and good nutrition! I have additional qualifications in anatomy and nutrition and enjoy sharing my knowledge on both these subjects and my mainstream subject specialisations.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught for 7 years, graduating from the University of Sussex in 2010 with a PGCE in middle years science. I have since taught GCSE, A-level and casual biology, psychology, sociology and health and social care. I have also taught KS2-3 maths, english, science and literacy skills. I have a 2:1 BSc degree in Psychology (Neuroscience) and am currently studying for an MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Sussex.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that learning about my students is key - likes, dislikes and interests. This means that the subjects being taught can be tailored to fit the learning and understanding of the student. I enjoy working with students and teaching and feel that the natural excitement I feel can be transferred through explanation - this can be seen in the increased uptake of social sciences at my last teaching job and increased applications to university for these subjects.

Personal Description:
I am an 18 year old Photography student at Bath Spa University. I did my IB Diploma in Bremen, Germany and lived the last 10 years in Germany as well giving me fluent german as well as English. I am a very open person, who is always willing to help and will have the patience when students just can't get there heads around a topic.

Teaching Experience:

I taught a few children back at my school in Germany, just as a favour when they different quite understand something which I had already done in previous years.

Tutoring Approach:

I am very open, I do however pressure students to a degree to get them to believe in themselves and to not give up as if they can't bring up the willpower to understand something it will make their lives even harder when it comes to doing the actual work. However if students try their very best and don't give up, I don't see why one shouldn't spend as long as necessary to get a certain concept understood.

Personal Description:
I am currently enrolled in SOAS, University of London as a Masters student studying the Political Economy of Development. My primary research includes investigating the impacts of public policy on economic development. My academic training has led to strong interests in subjects including History, Politics, Economics, and English. I received my undergraduate degree in Politics and History from Brunel University and achieved a 2:1 overall.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching for over 3 years. For over a year and a half, I began my teaching career by leading group tutoring sessions at a local university in preparation for the English GCSE. This was enlightening for me as a teacher, particularly when hearing and critiquing student's opinions or arguments on works of literature. In line with these teaching experiences, I have gained a certificate for community teaching (CLEI). As of this year, whilst attending University for my masters, I have been tutoring students part-time in subjects that include English, Politics and History.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe having a personable demeanor and having fun interactive and engaging lessons are the best approach to learning. I am also a strong proponent of encouraging my students to always reach their highest potential and to give their best effort to the course material. I also believe in learning as a collaborative process between the tutor and student, highlighted by discovery and insight.

Personal Description:
Hola!

I am a native Spanish speaker from Colombia. I have also lived in Barcelona (Spain) for 23 years. I completed a degree in Digital Marketing and Business Management at the University of Medellin, Colombia. I achieved a First.
I moved to England in February, 2010 as I really wanted to improve my English.

I am friendly and hardworking. My personal interests are: salsa, yoga, sports, travelling, nature, meeting new people and listening to music.

Teaching Experience:

In Spain I worked as a private tutor for 12 years. I am familiar with the syllabus at GCSE and A level.

I offer support in all relevant skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. I can support students in improving their intonation and pronunciation in order to reach high standards of accuracy. Alternatively, I can work on improving your knowledge and application of Spanish, as I offer advice on how to use key words and structures (e.g. verb tenses, adverbs, etc.).

Tutoring Approach:

I use a range of resources to support students (worksheets, videos, CDs) together with a variety of methods (from traditional writing and reading exercises to games and role plays). I can adapt my teaching to suit your learning style and priorities (e.g. improving writing skills to prepare coursework).

I am looking forward to hearing from you!

Hasta pronto,

Walter

Personal Description:
I want to be a part of making students love studying English as much as I do.
I am currently studying an English Literature degree as a mature student. I have a current DBS (previously CRB) certificate issued February 2017.
I am a patient, friendly and hardworking person and like to use my knowledge to help others. There is nothing more satisfying to me than knowing I have taught someone new way of understanding.
After graduating from my degree I will be going on to teach English at Secondary level.

I have 7 GCSE grades- A*- C (2006), ENGLISH LIT- A* and ENGLISH LANG- A
English Lit/Lang combined- C (2008), and am currently studying BA English Literature.

Teaching Experience:

I have lots of experience working in schools, providing reading and writing support to primary level students and English GCSE work and revision support to secondary level students, as before going back to university I was working as a Teaching Assistant.
I also have a lot of experience working with SEN students, most of my experience working with students with Autism. I have an understanding of P levels that some SEN children may be working towards rather than following the national curriculum.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a relaxed tutor that wants to get the best out of each student I work with. My main approach is to make it fun. I want to make English something my students are passionate about and enjoy developing their understanding. Dreading something because you find it difficult is what stops a lot people from achieving their full potential. As students succeed and progress, their confidence improves and they begin to enjoy studying more.
