Personal Description:
I am 35 years old and a highly qualified and experienced teacher and tutor of eleven years standing. I have been fortunate enough to receive an excellent education myself and through this I have been able to achieve the highest level grades throughout my own studies and a 'fully outstanding' award for my professional 'Teacher training'. I have worked as a psychologist/life coach and I write professionally also. I offer a quality service to quality students.

Teaching Experience:

As a teacher I have mainly taught at, "St Edward's College". This has been listed as one of the, "...best of the best" schools in the country and has received two consecutive 'fully outstanding' reports from Ofsted. I am committed and passionate as regards my subjects and with enabling my students to both enjoy their studies and realise their potential. I am dynamic in my teaching which ensures the students are engaged and my subject knowledge provides me with an assuredness in the quality of my teaching. My tuition students have attained places to read and study at The University of Nottingham; Oxford Brookes University and one of my students recently obtained a degree with honours from The University of Leeds. I am proud of the results my students have achieved as they have done very well in their examinations and some have even been able to obtain full marks in their examinations.

Tutoring Approach:

I am fully aware of how important communication with parents and students is in order to ensure all our mutual goals are met and the students potential is fully for-filled. I have references from students, employers and parents available upon request and I have an up to date criminal records bureau check. I only perform lessons that are 1 and a half hours long (90 minutes) for 45 pounds or 2 hours long for 60 pounds. Regular sessions tend to work best and this has proven to be mutually rewarding for both myself and my students. If a student unavoidably must miss a lesson, I will aim to arrange an alternative mutually agreeable time. If we cannot find a time, I will have to charge the fee for the lesson. I always do my best to accommodate both students and parents. This helps enable my students and myself to achieve our aims i.e. entrance to their chosen University and the highest grades. Thanks. Joseph.

I am a qualified Maths and Mandarin teacher.I have finished my master degree from University of Southampton with distinction, PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Mathematics)) from UCL and I also finished my undergraduate study with first class degree from University of Southampton as well. I was working as trader assistant ( yellow jacket ) in a top bank before changing to become a maths teacher. I have over six years experience in primary, entrance exam, GCSE and A-Level maths tutoring. I am always passionate for tutoring and I know how to make students' learning process enjoyable. My strong reputation has been built on my ability to improve my students' varying skills, ability and exam skills. I have unrivaled patience and understanding and I am able to bring the best maths tutoring experience to my students. I also have set up my own website with helpful maths resources for my students.

In 2011, I attended 3rd Mandarin Teacher Training which was held by Chinese government in London and I have also gained Qualified Mandarin Teaching Certification which was awarded and admitted by both Chinese and British government. (Original Copy on request). Teaching Experience:

Currently I am working as a Maths and Mandarin teacher in a college. I am also working with many Tutoring Agencies as five star rated tutor like Top Tutors,Galaxies Learning and Delta Tutors. Unlike other tutors, I only teach limited number of students to ensure quality. My A-Level students successfully entered top universities like LSE, Warwick University, Imperial College and other elite Russell Group universities. Other students successfully got through entrance examination to top independent schools like City of London School, North London Collegiate School, Channing School and Merchant Taylors' School.

Education:

University College London (UCL)
Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Mathematics) (PGCE)

University of Southampton
MSc. in Accounting and Finance (Distinction)

University of Southampton
BSc. in Accounting and Finance (First Class)

Tutoring Approach:

Quality is everything for me. Apart from the highest teaching quality I am pursuing, my rate is also competitive as I was a student, I know how important it is to have someone to help at reasonable price. However, the normal rate is usually high. For me, I only charge reasonable price.

Recent International Student Assessment (ISA) shows that Chinese students ranked best in the world at maths ( UK is ranked 28th for maths, Source: google "Shanghai students ranked best in the world at maths and science", The Telegraph). As British Chinese, I can tell you the secret of Chinese learning maths. I have a unique method of tutoring which can be adapted whatever the skill level and also unique exam techniques. But my first objective is to target my students' enthusiasm for the subject so they will be passionate to learn mathematics. Practice is also essential for learning maths, but a good tutor knows how to design different questions for effective practice. Finally,I usually believe that learning is a continuing process and if I am honored to be your tutor, I can not only help you learn the knowledge, but also master the art of learning until one day, you will be able to help others like I do.

Personal Description:
My name is Ryan and I am currently in my fourth year of undergraduate medical training at Barts Medical School. I have also just completed an educational degree based around medicine. I am very passionate about teaching and I hope this translates into my lessons.

My general area of interest is in the sciences, in particular biology. I have A-grades in biology, chemistry, and maths at A-level and A* in all sciences at GCSE level.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught extensively throughout this year in a variety of formats including one-to-one sessions, lecturing, and class teaching. I have spent this year studying the science and psychology behind teaching and learning and I can therefore back-up my teaching techniques with extensive evidence. I have helped struggling students on the course to improve and achieve their aims.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to take an interactive approach to tutoring with the student engaged at all times - This method aims to reduce 'spoon-feeding' information as much as possible and ensures active understanding of the taught material. This also has the benefit of being more fun for the student and is a much more powerful method of learning.

Creating an atmosphere where the student feels comfortable to ask questions and converse is very important to me .

Personal Description:
I am a Geography graduate of Magdalene College Cambridge. I studied Geography, Mathematics, Biology and English Literature at A Level as well as taking an Extended Project Qualification. I achieved 100% in several of my modules including Decision Mathematics, Victorian Literature, Biology practical work and my Geography AS paper. I am an open, friendly and approachable character with a genuine love of learning.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored previously and lectured at New York University. I have given talks to school aged children and fellow students at the London Science Museum and Cambridge University Engineering Department. As a Guide leader I am used to working with children and young people. In addition to this I have been tutored myself so know what can be achieved with one-on-one teaching.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a strong work ethic driven mainly by my love of assimilating knowledge purely for knowledge's sake. I hope to not only improve my tutees abilities in their respective subjects but encourage them to enjoy their learning and see the value of education. I believe that confidence is a major factor when approaching a new or a difficult topic. Making mistakes is a natural part of learning and just because you are struggling with a problem now doesn't mean that you will never be able to solve it. I have first hand experience of this. In my first AS Maths exam in January I got a C. But by June I was achieving A grades and never slipped below this again. I believe that it was tutoring that was the catalyst for my improvement. It gave me the confidence to ask questions but it also showed me that the rapid pace of classroom learning doesn't suit everyone. Tutoring should consolidate what is taught in schools and should only push children beyond their age range's ability if the child is comfortable with this and has a keen interest in the subject.

Personal Description:
As far as I can remember, I've always liked learning new things and teaching and considered it as fundamental. I'm really interested in different cultures, languages and ways of thinking. I'm French and I've been living in England for 2 years. I like meeting new people and having fun while teaching.

Teaching Experience:

I've been a tutor for a few years in France, teaching English and French to high school and secondary school students. Their results improved and they were pretty happy with my methods and resources. I worked as a French assistant for the Kings School in Macclesfield with students from Year 1 to Year 13 for two years and will enter a PGCE course in September.

Tutoring Approach:

In my experience, I've found that students appreciate learning languages with loads of different material like music, games, films, books, videos and the internet platform in general. I think tutoring has to be interesting and entertaining as well as efficient. I try to be funny, joyful but focused at the same time. And if the tutee is motivated, then there will be no boundaries.

Personal Description:
Hi there, my name is Nadine and I am a native German, who recently moved to the UK.

I love to support peoples learning, whether it is in sports (I hold a master in sport science) or communication (I am a trained public relation consultant and blogger).

Following my heart to England I am very excited about the opportunity to support people's language learning and can support tutees from beginner up to A-Level and beyond. So let's talk German!

Teaching Experience:

I started teaching at the age of 15, when I hold weekly swimming lessons at my local swim club. I supported peoples learning ever since - as sports coach, work group leader, communication consultant etc.

After my immigration to England I started working as a play worker in a primary school and will soon start my first German Club for children 4+ in that school. I am also working towards a teaching assistant qualification and eventually a teaching qualification.

Tutoring Approach:

"Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn." Benjamin Franklin

When I learned English in school I was only a mediocre student. I never seemed to be able to satisfy my teachers expectations so my confidence in my ability to speak and engage in English was very low. One day I found a book on my friends shelves about a little wizard called Harry Potter. It was in English and from the moment I opened it I was caught in the story. I was also very surprised to find myself reading along easily, understanding the story without much trouble. I went on from book 1 to 2 and then 3 and so on, eventually I started watching movies in English and using English when travelling. Today I am able to live and work amongst English native speakers without many language barriers.

So long story short, as a tutor I am not extending your school hours or create a class environment, but will take you out, play games, craft, listen to music and do whatever to find your hook on German. (Although if you have any technical questions or need help for school tests with German grammar, punctuation and spelling I am happy and capable to help out too!)

Let's get involved!

Personal Description:
I am an Imperial College graduate in Biomedical Engineering (masters).
I was born in Italy from Italian parents, but have lived in the UK since I was 6 years old (I'm perfectly bilingual). I attended the European School in Culham, near Oxford, before moving to London for university.
I am a friendly and outgoing person, when I'm not busy with uni work I like to be in the company of friends, enjoy cinema, live music and playing/watching sports, particularly football and squash.

Teaching Experience:

Over my first two years at university, I helped some As and A-level students from my old school, especially during their exam period (i.e.: one on one revision sessions, helping out with coursework and writing sets of revision notes) in Maths, Biology and Physics.
Early in 2011 I joined the Blue Tutors agency, where my teaching skills were assessed and received full accreditation.
In October 2013 I did weekly one-on-one GCSE maths lessons for the month leading up to an exam. As well as the lessons I made revision notes for the student, whose mark increased from C- to B.
From January to April 2014 I was Project Coordinator and voluntary teacher in weekly extra curricular activity "Code Club", a basic computer programming workshop at Pimlico Academy. Generally about a dozen 13-14 year old students attended.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to teaching is generally quite friendly: I believe that at a subconscious level, a student will be much more inclined to listen to and learn from a person they trust and appreciate. However, I also believe the teaching style must be suited to the student, and largely depends on the subject being taught.
A particular technique which I have learnt from Blue Tutors and have tried to implement ever since, is to try and lead the student to the answer by asking the right questions, rather than just giving him the answer.

Personal Description:
I'm a flexible, energetic and dynamic tutor offering lessons in English, Violin and 11+ to students from primary age to A-level and beyond. I have a passion for English literature and music, and I love to teach.

As I have been finishing my PhD, I have gradually been taking on more pupils for private tuition. I specialize in bringing the academic study of English to life for school students by combining a dynamic and accessible approach with the exciting ideas and research I have experienced at university level.

Teaching Experience:

I have a range of classroom and 1-to-1 teaching experience. As an English tutor, I have worked with a range of students from primary to PhD level. I am experienced at preparing students for exams, 11+ and university entrance, including intensive revision work to prepare students for a particular exam.
I have also delivered the GCSE English curriculum to a home-schooled pupil as her only English teacher. At the University of St Andrews, I was employed for 3 years as a tutor for undergraduate students in the English and Music departments. Through my tutorials on essay writing skills, I was able to significantly improve the marks of my cohort of students, and I teach the same techniques to my pupils at school stage. After qualifying with the widely recognized CELTA certificate in English Language Teaching, I spent several summers teaching English language to classes of children and teenagers aged from 10 to 18.

Tutoring Approach:

Learning with a tutor can be much, much more fun than learning in school! And since literature is all about life, learning to critically read and interpret literary texts, whether at GCSE or undergraduate level, will open your eyes to look at the world in a new way. I love the fact that through my experience of university life as a student and teacher, I can fast-track my school-aged pupils to the skills and ideas they'll need at university and beyond. The study of English literature at university is a different world to that at school - I wish I had known at school how rich and interesting the subject was. Through my teaching, I aim to inspire my students not only to understand and appreciate the great works of literature that they study, but to use them to understand big ideas about history and society.

I am also keenly aware of the requirements of the various exam boards, and I tailor my approach to developing skills to excel in particular exams and beyond. I particularly enjoy preparing students for exams such as GCSE and A-level, and I am equally at home providing challenging debate to stretch the most gifted and talented pupils, or inspiring enthusiasm in students who want to improve their grades. One of the best things about private tuition is seeing my pupils develop their confidence, whether in musical performance or tackling the big ideas in works of literature.

As a violin teacher, I love to teach beginners of any age, but particularly young children. My lessons are lively, interactive and engaging, developing all-round musical ability in a way that is fun and motivating. I can also act as a practice buddy for any instrument, and assist with reading music, sight-reading, music theory and aural training skills.
