Personal Description:
I am an organised, sociable and confident individual with a can-do attitude, I have discovered that I possess skills and attributes which are transferable within many different job roles both related and unrelated to my education. These include: Reaching targets (personal and professional). Writing memos, notes and feedback, record keeping, communication with office, school faculties, parents and carers. I speak several languages, including Hindi, Gujarati French and Spanish.

Teaching Experience:

Having working for education for 15+ years and covered various areas from: special need, controlling classes, providing feedback for absent teacher, observing health and safety of all involved people. I attend meetings, first Aid, in house and external training days. Report abnormalities, Feed back etc.
I have worked for interpreting services in a various sectors: Independent tribunal, social services, School and OAP organisation. I handle invoices to and from.
I have worked for weekend school for Children, Youth and Family University, where I supported family and children of all ages and back ground. Bought resources, issued invoices, planned lessons and delivered according to dead line.
I get on well with all ages and back ground. I work on my own and as a part of a team. I speak several languages and translate the too , for example, Hindi Gujarati, Urdu, Punjabi.

Tutoring Approach:

Students and parents both want academic success - high grades and the pride that comes with achievement. I believe any student, regardless of ability, can become a high achiever. I know from years of experience that students under perform because they have not learned the right approach or pathway to success.

Any school has the same essential components: attendance, class participation, attentiveness, homework and testing. Most teachers give students points for each category; however, simply showing up on a regular basis and "doing" homework will not guarantee a good grade. The difference between average performance (a "C" student) and high performance (an "A" student) turns on what a student does outside of class.

While no two students learn exactly alike in exactly the same manner, all students must struggle with independent learning. Where do I do my homework? When do I do my homework? How do I do my homework? Am I well organized? If not, how can I become better organized? Do I know how to study for quizzes and tests? If not, how can I develop better study skills? Students who discover the answers to these questions become high achievers.

help students become stronger independent learners by developing a customized approach to their needs, cognition and retention. Students can spend hours working very hard but working inefficiently to the point their effort fails to translate into results. I create personalized organizational plans so that students learn how to maximize time, work efficiently and retain key information not just for the short term but for the long term.

Personal Description:
My name is Sandra and I live in the south part of Norwich with my husband and tabby cat called Mowgli. My three boys are now at university (Leeds, Durham and London) so the house is much more peaceful and I can spend more time on tutoring.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked full time in Secondary Schools for the last 6 years, teaching Maths for years 7,8 and 9 and for GCSE and A level. I have taught A level cores 1,2,3 and 4 with both the OCR and the AQA boards of examination. I have been a 6th form tutor and have a good knowledge of the UCAS process and of the universities themselves. I also have experience of graduate tutoring for students wishing to improve their numerical reasoning for job applications. More and more graduate jobs are requiring additional aptitude tests including numerical reasoning in the form of psychometric assessment.

Tutoring Approach:

I enjoy being with young people especially hearing about their aspirations for the future. Maths is such a necessary tool, whether it is gaining Maths GSCE to open more doors, or getting your head around aspects of A level maths which will be used at university for quantum mechanics. I have developed several topical online resources so that the pupil's understanding can be quickly assessed and he or she can then have the confidence to make sure progress, in small steps. I encourage my students to explain their thinking at every opportunity. They have commented that the time goes very quickly as I use a variety of teaching methods, including games and card sorts as well as problem solving.

Personal Description:
As a forty-seven year old German citizen, I have lived in England for nine years. I began tutoring during my chemistry study, which I finished with a Master's of Science in Chemistry (first class degree) and a PhD in Biochemistry (first class degree). I have successfully tutored more than 40 A-level students and have helped graduate and undergraduate students at university. One of my pupils was a medicine student, who said after my lesson: "I did not know chemistry is so easy".

Teaching Experience:

Nine years of experience as a Chemistry Tutor enable me to help students to accelerate their understanding of Chemistry and to archive their full potential. Based on a thorough assessment a tutoring plan is developed to fill in gaps and to build up a solid foundation of knowledge.

I am familiar with the special requirements of GAMSAT Chemistry and I am more than happy to provide references of former students. I have been with a well known tutor agency for several years and I am fully CRB checked.

I have worked for 18 years in high profile labs in scientific research all over the world including Tübingen (Germany), Hamburg (Germany), Paris (France), Atlanta (USA), Vancouver (Canada), Cambridge (UK) and Leicester (UK).
During this time I have taught undergraduate university students and have supervised Masters and PhD students. My scientific expertise includes Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular biology, Protein chemistry, Chemical Analytic and Genetic Engineering.

Testimonials:
"Thank you so much for your help this year. My understanding has improved immensely and my confidence has also greatly benefited. I can now enjoy chemistry without the confusion and stress, even the exams have become enjoyable!"
Gabrielle

"You are a really good teacher and explain things very well." Rakhi

"I like the way you teach. You do not spoon fed, but help me to find the solution on my own." Joe

"I can't thank you enough for the tuition you gave to me - it was invaluable." Lydia

"You have helped me a lot when it was really needed." Suhrud.

"I wanted to thank you for your help and let you know that I got into my
first choice university" Amandeep.

"I wouldn't have been able to get the A* without your help." Sanjeev

"I did not know chemistry is so easy." Peter

"I got my GAMSAT results the other day and scored an average of 63 (which is in the top 15% of the country)!! Thanks so much for your help" Roshan Sing Rupra

Tutoring Approach:

Whenever I get a new client I begin with a thorough assessment: What kind of person is he or she, what basic knowledge is present and what are the main problem areas? Then a tutoring plan is suggested to reach the goal in a reasonable time frame.

My tutoring lessons are individually tailored to the needs of the student and designed to be entertaining but also challenging. The interview style of the session keeps the tutee focused and engaged. I incorporate examples of daily life and draw comparisons with situations from sports and hobbies. In my last assignment, we even did some small chemistry experiments (no worries parents - only harmless ones - the kitchen did not blow up!).

Besides improving their learning strategies, I ensure my students are well prepared for exams by practicing past papers and using official mark schemes. However my emphasis lies on building up a solid foundation of knowledge and the skills of applying it. I am familiar with the four main exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR A and B), but might add additional information, if this helps with the understanding. Homework of around 30 min is given between sessions to practice and deepen the new knowledge.

I give my best to make the teaching interesting and enjoyable, which motivates him or her to learn. I understand that at the beginning there might be resentment towards the subject. However there has to be a basic willingness to learn. If I do not feel the openness at least to try, I reserve myself the right to decline the assignment.

Nevertheless I have a lot of patience and enthusiasm, which let me usually get along very well with my students. I hope at the end of my tuition I can quote you saying "I did not know chemistry is so easy".

Additional Information: Travel costs up to 5 miles distance included. For travel distance over 5 miles a surcharge applies.

Personal Description:
My name is Darryl and I graduated from The University of Southampton in June 2013 with a degree in Economics and Actuarial Science (A very Statistical and Mathematical based subject). I previously worked for the American Bank Wells Fargo, and I now currently work as a Financial Consultant for Deloitte.

I have tutored for the past 4 years and I have enjoyed great success in helping my students to reach their full potential, and in many times, excel beyond their predicted grades. As a person who has just come out of education I have plenty of helpful tricks and tips to doing well in exams. I am also very familiar with the school curriculum as I have younger siblings, whom I also tutor. What sets me apart from most is that as well as tutoring my students, I take the role of a mentor, to motivate, encourage and guide them towards success.

As a young teenager I was a student who was pressured by my parents do excel in school, this sometimes caused me to have a more rebellious attitude towards my studies. Thus, I realise the various difficulties many students face throughout their studies, and I believe that having this experience provides me with the ability to connect to students who either are struggling with their studies, or are disengaged with their school work.

I achieved straight A's and A*'s at GCSE at a very poor school, I then got offered a scholarship to attend an independent school where I achieved A's in Mathematics, Physics and Economics. Finally I completed my studies at University with an upper second class degree with honours. I now am on a gap year and about to start a teaching course with the vision of becoming a Secondary School teacher in the near future.

Teaching Experience:

I started teaching Primary school and GCSE students whilst I was in my final year in sixth form, I then went on to teach A-level students whilst I was at University. Throughout those years my proudest achievement has been motivating my students and changing their attitudes towards studying and school. I have been able to get my students to work much harder then they (or their parents) ever expected them to. I believe the reason for is that I am young and provide a more friend-like support, as opposed to a demanding parent or teacher. By doing this my students' feel that I can relate to them and thus we establish a respected relationship. In addition I have also tutored students for entrance exams (e.g. 11+) and I am happy to say I have had great success in doing this also.

I have travelled to tutor many of my students, as well as tutoring some of them in my own home. I have always catered to the preferences of my students and their parents and I continue to do so to get the best out of my students. I like to finish each of my lessons by briefing the parent(s)/guardian(s) of the student's ongoing progress and my future goals for them.

Tutoring Approach:

I spend a lot of time planning for sessions so that my students get the very best out of each lesson. I am a very organised person, and I like to set short term and long term goals for myself and my students. I also like to keep track of the performance of my students, both for my needs and theirs. I always ensure that my lessons are engaging, and I work towards building a good relationship with my students, encouraging them to ask questions without any hesitation. I make sure that my students are comfortable with me by building a friendly and trusting relationship; I believe this enables my students to feel easy and allows them to ask me many questions, which leads to a better learning experience.

I adapt my approach depending on my students' learning style as I feel this is the key to successful teaching. I have had a range of different students, from those who were demotivated and disengaged, to those who needed me for that extra help to reach their goals.

Past papers is a very important part of my lessons, once I am able to cover the concepts and theories of the subject I swiftly turn the attention of my pupils to past papers. I believe practising these papers are definitely the best way of achieving great exam results.

I OFFER DISCOUNTS FOR MULTIPLE HOURS OF TUITION.

Personal Description:
I hold a BA hons in History and Masters degree (distinction) in History and Politics from the University of Exeter. I was graded outstanding for my PGCE in Secondary History. I continued this onto Masters Level, completing my MEd last year.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught in a selective boys grammar school in Devon, where I worked in a thriving History and Politics department (ranked among the top 10 of History and Politics departments nationally according to GCSE and A Level exam results). I am now teaching History and Politics to A Level at The King's School in Chester, and the department achieves an exceptional number of A*/A grades at GCSE, AS and A level. I am experienced in various examination boards for both subjects including Edexcel, AQA and Cambridge IGCSE. I have taught a range of exam modules, from Henry VIII; Crime and Punishment; the Modern World; 20th Century America: Vietnam War; 20th Century Germany; The Cold War. I have also worked as an Edexcel and OCR examiner for the last five years (marking GCSE and A Level papers) and am well versed in exam technique. I am able to offer an insight into what examiners are looking for in GCSE, AS and A2 exam responses. I am familiar with the courses offered at GCSE and AS at various secondary schools in Chester and the surrounding area and have tutored students from Abbeygate and Queens this year.

Tutoring Approach:

I work to instill a genuine enthusiasm for History and Politics, as well as developing a sound understanding of the topics covered during tutoring. I use and prepare engaging resources as well as a diverse range of teaching methods, which enable students to learn both the content and the skills needed to succeed in their examinations. It is my belief that tutoring sessions should not just involve the regurgitation of facts on the part of the student; rather, it should empower students with the confidence and knowledge they need to secure the grades they're capable of.

I tailor my sessions to best fit the needs of the students; whether that is through honing exam technique, or gaining an in depth understanding of the course content. I am able to target my sessions to suit all levels of ability.

Personal Description:
DO YOU NEED A TUTOR FOR EXAMS/RE-SIT EXAMS THIS YEAR? LOOK NO FURTHER!
LACK OF JANUARY EXAMS (2014) MEANS YOU MIGHT NEED A TUTOR MORE THAN EVER BEFORE!!!

I have been teaching Psychology since 2001 at several of the best performing sixth form colleges in the Greater Manchester area including Holy Cross College and Loreto College. Both colleges were awarded grade 1 by OFSTED.
I am 37 years old, married, living in Didsbury, South Manchester. I gained my degree in Psychology in 2000. I began teaching in 2001 so have over 13 years of experience teaching Psychology. I also have extensive experience of working with students with a wide range of learning difficulties, particularly dyslexia.

I offer tuition at my home, either at the weekend, or weekday evenings and during the day Tuesday and Thursday.

Teaching Experience:

I completed my PGCE in 2001. I teach Psychology GCSE, AS and A2 level, and this is therefore my main specialism. I also have extensive experience of working with students with a wide range of learning difficulties, particularly dyslexia.
I have many years' experience of teaching the AQA, OCR & WJEC specifications. I am also an experienced examiner for AQA, OCR and WJEC and have marked most units at GCSE, AS & A2 level. I am also willing to tutor students who are following other specifications.

Many tutors are not willing to advertise the results they have achieved with students. I recommend you read the section below on the results I have achieved with my GCSE & A Level Psychology students.

Also, many tutors seem to offer tuition in a wide variety of subjects. Are they really specialists in so many different subjects? I am a Psychology specialist, and only offer tuition in Psychology.

Tutoring Approach:

I have an incredibly strong track record of results at GCSE & A Level Psychology. Below I have compared an example of my students results against the national benchmarks.

Due to my experience with students with learning difficulty, I am able to help any students break down long text based information into more manageable forms. Often students find the volume of information in psychology difficult to manage, I am able to help students work through information and encourage independent ways to make the amount of information more manageable.

Here is an example of my A2 Psychology students:

Grade A*-B = 80.3%
Grade A*-E = 100%

National Benchmark A2 Psychology:

Grade A*-B = 43.1%
Grade A*-E = 97.4%

Here is an example of my AS Psychology students:

Grade A*-B = 65.6%
Grade A*-E = 100%

National Benchmark AS Psychology:

Grade A*-B = 29.1%
Grade A*-E = 80.5%

Personal Description:
I'm a Cambridge graduate with a PGCE from the University of Nottingham and nine years of secondary teaching experience. I stopped teaching in July 2014 so that I could pursue a writing career, but I am still passionate about helping people to fulfil their potential, especially in my subject of geography.

Teaching Experience:

I taught for nine years in an outstanding school in Oxford. It was a large comprehensive with a varying catchment area, so I am used to bringing out the best in students with a wide range of abilities. During that time I taught students aged 11 - 18, including GCSE and A level courses and their associated skills papers. I specialise in human geography but have also taught physical geography and decision-making papers involving pre-released material.

Tutoring Approach:

My aim is always to make learning interesting and relevant. I will work with students to find out their specific needs, and provide a range of approaches to enable each individual to succeed to the best of his or her ability. Personal Description:
I am currently on a gap year, having finished sixth form this year, and intend to take a BEd in primary education next year. I studied Maths, French and Spanish at A-Level, hence why those are the subjects I am currently offering.

I have a keen interest in teaching and know how difficult and stressful it can be to get the necessary grades. I also know that children often tire of learning things that they don't find interesting and have tutored children successfully by relating their interests to what they are studying. I have experience teaching people with learning difficulties.

Teaching Experience:

EAL mentoring
Experience teaching and tutoring KS1
Workshop for KS2 children on how to build a motor vehicle (design, electronics, aerodynamics, etc.)

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring will vary depending on the tutee. While I will make lesson plans, they will be more of a guideline than a fixed plan. I am willing to answer any queries that may arise between sessions and can be contacted by email or text.

Personal Description:
I am a fully qualified primary school teacher working in an Outstanding Primary school. I have gained a first class honours degree and PGCE from St. Mary's University in Twickenham.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently teaching in KS2 however, I have teaching experience of all ages from Reception to Year 6. I have been tutoring part time for 5 years and am very experienced in tailoring lessons to suit the needs of the tutee.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that it is important to tailor the sessions to suit the strengths of each tutee. Basing lessons around engaging and enjoyable topics will help to approach areas of Maths and English the tutee finds most difficult.
No two sessions are the same and I use a range of resources to get the best results and improvement over a period of sessions.

Tuition sessions should be fun and engaging to ensure that the tutee is fully engaged for the session - ultimately leading to progress and better understanding.

Personal Description:
Having achieved 15 A* at GCSE and 6 A at AS-Level, I have had first-hand experience of revising for maths, biology and chemistry, learning the resources and skills most essential for succeeding in these examinations. Preparing to begin my medical studies at Imperial College London, I am also able to tutor in UKCAT and BMAT, both examinations which are essential for applying for medicine. I am also able to do mock medical interviews and interview practice, having experienced the real-deal just a few months ago, help with personal statements, giving feedback and tips to getting into medicine and other courses.

Teaching Experience:

I have had over three years of experience in tutoring individuals for GCSE and AS-Level. Having gone through the examinations only two years ago, I understand the most useful resources such as textbooks and practice available. I completely acknowledge the importance of summer holidays being a time for your child to catch up with any difficulties they have come across during the teaching year and to prepare them for the next academic year. Throughout my Chinese (Mandarin) studies, I have also tutored young individuals studying for GCSE and A Level Mandarin, all who achieved A* in their examinations. Such tutoring has included speaking practise and the use of stimulus cards, haven spoken fluent Chinese all my life.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe it is essential to tailor the method of tutoring to the needs of the tutee. From past experience, this has included identification of the topics that require improvement and providing resources for further practice. Explanations and clarification, through encouraging question-asking and ensuring a broad understanding of key concepts to apply to examinations has been particularly effective. I am a patient, diligent and trustworthy individual, all qualities I feel have aided me in tutoring individuals of all ages.
