Personal Description:
I am 23 years old and I am in my final year at The University of Manchester where I am studying French and Italian. I have spent 6 months in Bologna in Italy, working in a private language school for those wished to learn either Italian or English. I worked as a copywriter for the school website, working in French, Italian and English. I also worked as a conversation tutor to those who wanted to learn English. I am now waiting on my results for a recognised qualification, a C1 CILS exam. In the same year, I lived in Paris for four months where I worked at ELLE, the well known women's fashion magazine, where I used solely French. I am very down to earth and my biggest passion is football, I enjoy a good movie and love a good comedy. If you feel more comfortable meeting in a neutral place, a coffee place or in the town centre that is fine by me. It is flexible. A clean criminal record and can boast a detention-less education!

Teaching Experience:

I now have teaching experience and I have shadowed those who have done this for a job. I have worked voluntarily in a school teaching beginner's Italian. Having already worked as a conversation tutor in a private school, I feel I would excel in giving private lessons, given the chance.

Tutoring Approach:

I feel every student works at their own pace, however it would not take me long to work out an approach which would realise the full potential of the tutee. I am patient and I can sympathise that learning a new language or topic can be frustrating.

Personal Description:
I have been a teacher for more than thirty years. I was a university lecturer and private tutor in Hungary and I continued teaching as a tutor when I came to England. I am passionate about teaching; helping pupils improve is very important to me.

Teaching Experience:

A few years ago I was teaching drama at different levels, as well as English literature and language. I started teaching Maths for younger children when I came to England. I also marked theses in Literature as a lecturer and advised students on writing papers in Literature. I taught several courses; for example, Essay writing, Language skills, Communication skills and Drama and Theatre. I based my drama lessons on my experiences as a Fulbright scholar at the Drama Department at the University of Oregon, USA.
I am especially enthusiastic about helping students with their essays; teaching them how to find focus and express their ideas precisely and coherently; organise and proofread their work; how to write a good introduction and conclusion.
Pupils I have taught have been admitted to Wolverhampton Girls' High School, Wolverhampton Grammar School and Chase Academy.

Tutoring Approach:

I am an extremely patient teacher. I have helped children and adults of different ages to achieve their goals. In my opinion anyone can improve; the teacher's role is essential in the process. It is my responsibility to understand individual needs and to make sure that I create the best learning environment both physically and psychologically.
I am friendly and strict at the same time.
It is very important to tailor lessons to individual needs. My main priority is to find the best way to help the student improve. Motivating them can take different forms: encouragement, gentle pressure, being more strict and so on. Every student is different; it is my responsibility to find the best approach.

Personal Description:
Art and design has been the love of my life since early childhood. Being able to express oneself creatively and with imagination has always been my primary source of independence and happiness. Apart from that, i am also attentive to creative sparks and fires in the people around me, enjoying when the potential is given the chance to be fulfilled. Plus, i am thoughtful and hard working, with a light-hearted and empathic attitude towards people i work with. I am a bit of a connector, a bit of a maven, a bit of a geek and i always wear a sunscreen. I have studied Art and Design in Latvia and in London, have an Interior Design diploma and a degree in Product Design, strong drawing skills, sane knowledge of a range of arts materials, software skills and a spirit for safe experiments.

Teaching Experience:

Sustainable Opportunities Workshop 2011, in collaboration with British Council - designing the workshop and facilitating it.
Private arts tutor for life drawing and modeling, 2007-currently.
Learning Resources Assistant in University of Arts London, advising on materials and software (Adobe CS; Rhino; Solidworks for beginners) 2009-currently.
Arts tutor and group supervisor in Children Summer Camp, ages 6-16. 2007.

Tutoring Approach:

The best tutors in my life have been the strictest ones, with high demands and set standards. I have learned from them well and would aim for the same level of aspiration they have given me. But in addition, my strongest belief is that the best teacher is the one who understands the way his student works and learns and acts accordingly, being an inspirational teacher. Ages 6-99 can all benefit from expression through the different forms of art. First of all I would discuss the needs and desires of stakeholders and form a brief, which would include:
Desired outcomes
Program to reach them
Sourcing materials - what materials are needed
Timetable
Location

Then, we would be set for starting the learning and revealing the wonders of life and ourselves.

Personal Description:
I am a Spanish native speaker from the south of Spain and have been living in the UK for eight years now. I studied for a degree in Translation and Interpretation and for a couple of postgraduate masters, one relating to education.
I have always been interested in learning languages and the culture of the countries where they are spoken. Therefore you will have the chance to learn about Spanish daily habits, gastronomy, hobbies and important events that happen around the year.
It is key for me to know why you want to learn the language and which Spanish speaking country you are visiting, as the contents and language of the lessons will be oriented to these requirements. Your learning style and preferences are important to me as well. Some learners prefer to base their lessons around conversations only and others are happy to have a few grammar based lessons, then conversation, then enjoying reading a book passage or a poem. My extensive library of resources will always have something that interests you.

Teaching Experience:

10 years teaching experience in the UK. This includes over 4 year secondary school work (first as a language assistant, then as a qualified MFL teacher).
Set up as self-employed in 2011 as a freelance adult educator and translator in the Spanish and French languages. During this time I have delivered adult education for local education authorities as well as private courses, primary school education and one-to-one tuition. As part of my Professional Development Plan I completed a Teacher Training Course at the Instituto Cervantes in Leeds, a key reference institution for Spanish teachers around the world.
Testimonials of happy customers are available upon request.

Tutoring Approach:

Fun but professional!
Learning programme is tailored to your needs and additional materials for independent learning can be provided after lessons. Doing a bit of work at home helps making progress.
You can choose to either follow a text book or allow me to cherry pick materials designed to help you achieve your course aims.
Flexible lesson times, you can have your lessons at a different time or day as we all have work and family commitments happening throughout the year. Just let me know well in advance please.
(Note: since you'll be charged a fee to obtain my tutoring details, the first lesson will be half price, it involves an initial meeting and teaching, totalling 1hr).
Note: the tariffs shown are for one-to-one tuition only. I can only travel 4-5 miles from my postcode.
If you live further afield, you can come to my local area or have your lessons via Skype.
Also, and as you may understand, I have to make a living and people have messed me up in the past, therefore cancellations made within 24 hours before the lesson will be charged at 10 GBP unfortunately.
Please note I do not teach GCSE nor young children as I specialise in adult education and A-level at present.

Personal Description:
Communication, cooperation and commitment are my key values. I know the importance of being assertive and helpful while providing French and Spanish tuition.
Empathy and a cheerful personality are my bridges to treating language learners with respect. It allows me to have a positive impact on them and see situations from different angles.

Teaching Experience:

During my teaching experience, I have learned how to establish and maintain constructive relationships during lessons, school hours, regular meetings and parents' evenings.
My past experience as a French language assistant and supply teacher allows me to quickly adapt to changes of pace while providing differentiated support. I am therefore used to constantly keeping review and updating records of learners' attendance and attitude. Therefore, a continual assessment of students' learning allows me to set them appropriate targets. So in parallel to the lessons I teach, I monitor their achievement to give them constant appropriate feedback.

Tutoring Approach:

Keeping a high quality of work is one of my other assets. To do so, I make sure I constantly review my lesson planning and assessment processes. I make constant use of my creativity, and provide solutions when improvements are required prior to or during the lessons taught. I am always searching to undergo further training to add value to the lessons I teach.

Personal Description:
I am semi retired secondary school teacher. In the last 20 years of my career I headed up several Computing and ICT departments in schools across Surrey, Hampshire and Portsmouth. I am well versed in teaching to GCSE level in Computing, ICT and privately, Mathematics. I have worked to AQA, Edexcel, and OCR examination specifications and have been an external examiner and marker for SEG examination boards. I currently work part time at a secondary school in Alton Hampshire.

I have two teenage children, a son recently achieving a first class degree at Coventry University and my daughter studies at
at Exeter University. I am available at various weekday times and weekends to visit, Skype, or to receive tutees.

I have recently relocated to the Chichester area.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught a variety of subjects during my career, but predominately Computing, ICT and Mathematics related subjects. I have taught in secondary schools to 11 - 18 years old students at GCSE, BTEC and A level standard. I have taken on pastoral, academic and managerial roles and have worked as an assessor for examination boards. Although much of my time has been spent teaching classes, I have often enjoyed mentoring and teaching individuals one on one and have tutored many pupils successfully at their homes in the past.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to ascertain where my tutees are faring in the initial sessions, by questioning, testing and discussing with parents and tutees in the first instance. I will then design and recommend an individual action plan for my student to follow both during tutorial sessions and for homework, so as to advance and improve their understanding. I am methodical and not judgmental in my approach, so will return to 'difficult' areas of understanding, by presenting examples in other guises until the student understands fully what is needed to succeed, and to remember it in the future.

I am presently teaching to the Edexcel GCSE (9-1) Foundation examination with some of my students. I am also taking bookings for the Autumn Term.

Personal Description:
After spending some time working in the IT industry, including a spell being practically a one-man IT department for a small business, I discovered a love of - and I like to think a knack for - guiding and supporting the learning of others through teaching and training. Initially this was in the IT/Computer Science fields, but more recently I have diversified into Maths. Seeing the "lightbulb moment", when a learner finally conquers a problem, is an undoubted highlight of my job. Away from teaching, I am a music buff, and I also love to discover new places and meet new people.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching professionally as a college lecturer since 2007 and privately since 2014, teaching Maths at KS3 and GCSE level, and IT from KS3 to BTEC Level 3. While I love the 'cut and thrust' of a classroom, I find private tuition to be particularly rewarding - being able to devote more time to each learner can make a real difference to those who might otherwise get overlooked in a large class, and only serves to increase yet further the satisfaction in seeing them succeed.

Tutoring Approach:

I can readily adapt teaching styles to fit the needs of individual learners. I recognise the importance of having a Plan B and trying different approaches to suit different learning styles. Learner input is more than welcome on this. If you know what techniques work well for you, feel free to let me know!

I am also a firm believer that successful learning depends on four main factors - hard work, willingness, perseverance and self-belief. Students often have plenty of the first three, but may lack a little of the latter. I see my role as being about encouragement as well as teaching, so as well as offering support and guidance, I will also encourage you to have confidence in your ability. Believe that you CAN succeed, and it becomes much more likely that you WILL.

Personal Description:
I received a First Class Honours B. Sc. degree in computer science from Cardiff University, UK, in 2016 and I am currently working towards the Ph.D. degree in the field of Cyber Security at the same University. My research revolves around the security and privacy of Internet of Things devices (IoT). I have experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, and Matlab, as well as with a variety of other technologies. As a current PhD student I also have experience in various research and study methodologies. Finally I am fluent in Greek, English, and Italian.

Teaching Experience:

For the past year, apart from being a private tutor teaching mainly GCSE Computing/ICT and Greek Language, I have also been a Teaching Assistant at Cardiff University. There I have been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students programming; Python and Java as well as Web Applications Technologies. Additionally, I have been supervising group projects for year 2.

Tutoring Approach:

I aim to provide a solid grounding in the subject while paying close attention to the needs of the individual. Therefore, I will vary my tutoring style depending on the ability and needs of the student. I aim to run my tuition in support of the progression of my students through their subject syllabus, but I am also willing to progress more slowly and focus on particularly weak areas if the student so desires. I will also offer pre-exam revision sessions for all exams including modular resits and conduct end of topic tests and mock exams should the student desire.

As I aim to tailor my tuition to the individual I expect students to maintain regular contact in regards to their subject progressions and their individual needs.
