Personal Description:
Hello there,
I am a native English speaker, and I have recently graduated with a First Class Honours in English from a top Russell Group University, which boasts an Internationally recognised English faculty, which means I had the opportunity to benefit from the teachings of influential scholars from the literary world. Students will benefit from my experiences, and I aim to offer an innovative and exciting take on English Literature and Language to ensure that they both achieve and exceed their potential. I am in the process of establishing my own tutoring business, as well as paving out a career path as a freelance writer.

Teaching Experience:

I am a professional English tutor, and have worked with students of all abilities from Secondary School right up until University for over 4 years now. I have spent 4 years tutoring privately in 1-1 and group sessions, as well as online. I have spent 2 years working in a supplementary school, where I worked with large groups of students from 11-19 years old of mixed abilities. I planned my lessons judiciously, set and marked homework, and prepared my GCSE classes for their exams. I have moved students from C grades, to A/B and even A* grades. My experience means that I am familiar with the current GCSE/A Level curriculum. I have also taught students English from all over the globe, not just academically, but also in terms of spoken English. I have much experience proof-reading and editing top University level essays written by students who attend the country's top Academic Institutions. In addition to this, I have accumulated over 250 hours of Skype and Online Tutoring using interactive educational software such as VLE/Blackboard, Moodle and WizIQ. Using these software, I have accumulated over 150 hours of teaching English as a Foreign Language to young learners and adults across the globe, including India, the UAE and Japan, with particular interest in business and interview skills for those wishing to work overseas in predominantly English speaking countries, conversational practices as well as for academic purposes.

I am also a freelance editor and proofreader, and have worked with students from top academic universities to assist them with their essays and dissertations. I have worked with students across a range of disciplines, including Psychology, Sociology, Early Learning Years and Childcare, Criminology and History.

Tutoring Approach:

As a tutor, regardless of whether I am teaching at GCSE, A-Level or University level, or English as a foreign language, I aim to encourage my students to identify with the subjects, to understand the content and what is expected of them by their examiners, but, most importantly, to enjoy them. It would be unwise for me to say that I have a standard tutoring approach for all my students. Instead, I work closely with my tutees, and use my extensive experience to gauge what grades they are working at, pinpointing the areas we need to work on, and then tailoring my lessons to suit their academic and personal educational needs. I can guarantee that regardless of their abilities and potentials, all my students unquestionably thrive and make excellent progress throughout our sessions together.

Personal Description:
Hi there, I'm Bruno. I'm bilingual in Italian and English and I'm currently studying BA Modern Languages (French, Spanish, Portuguese). I have always gained the highest grades in languages, and endeavour to help your child achieve the same results. Another of my greatest passions is playing piano, having passed my Grade 8 exam in 2008.

Teaching Experience:

Aside from tutoring, I currently teach piano to children at a local youth centre, which I have found has helped my teaching methods considerably. Not only am I naturally enthusiastic when it comes to working with kids; I am also young, patient and experienced.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to take an informal approach to tutoring. I have learned that children learn quickest when they are relaxed and having fun. I will provide learning material and set homework on a regular basis to further challenge and stretch my pupils.

Personal Description:
I have always had an interest in teaching maths, as far back as my own GCSE's i helped most of my friends with their coursework and I've continued in that vein my whole life. Now i have Graduated with my Masters degree (Hons) I have gone straight back into what I've always enjoyed doing. During my degree I also studied alternative techniques to numeracy that may help people to whom it doesn't come naturaly.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching in some form for many years. I was a peer tutor at university and I casually tutored privately through a lot of my degree to subsidise my studies. I have Professionally tutored for a year now and look forward to a great deal more.

Tutoring Approach:

I approach my tutoring with an open mind and I encourage input from the student, the downfall of the teaching system is its impersonal nature and the students trepidation to come forward after an initial misunderstanding. I am very patient and am willing to go over a topic as many times as necessary and i like my students to feel comfortable enough to ask me the same question a hundred times if its required. I favour a Socratic method of teaching in which i encourage students to ask questions and i manipulate the learning process to create such opportunities as information is more readily accepted and retained in this way.

Personal Description:
I am a Cambridge graduate with over 25 years experience of teaching IT/Computing at secondary level. I am now semi-retired (since 2009), but was secondary school Head of Department in Information Technology with a reputation for commitment and dedication which has seen several of my pupils achieve the very top results in the country. I am married and have three grown-up children.

Teaching Experience:

I have over 25 years experience teaching ICT/Computing very successfully at secondary level. I have had three pupils achieve "top five" status (ie top five individual pupils, not merely top 5%) in the country at GCSE level - two for ICT and one for BCS. A very large majority of my pupils at GCSE level - in ICT and Business Communication Systems - have achieved grade A or A* - this from pupils of mixed abilities. Similarly a very large majority of my pupils at A-level Computing have gained grade A or B. Of my A-level pupils who have gone on to study Computing and related subjects at university, many have gained first class honours and some have been awarded "best in year" and "best overall" prizes at UCL and Imperial College.

Tutoring Approach:

I have the ability to communicate effectively to pupils of all abilities. I make a point of ensuring that pupils always have the understanding they need, and will keep working at a problem, tackling it in different ways as necessary, until I know that they have grasped it. Having worked in the IT industry before coming to teaching I am a very capable programmer, and so am able to teach this skill from a background of experience which many teachers - at least when I first set out in teaching - did not have. I also have many years of experience of different exam systems, and have been responsible for choosing which examining board's specification to follow for GCSE and A-level, and for choosing teaching and computing resources for use in school. I have greatly enjoyed encouraging the less able pupils, as well as challenging the more able ones, to achieve more than they perhaps felt possible.

Personal Description:
My name is Marco De Biasio, during the past twelve years, I have taught the Italian language in England and abroad.
My professional experience has regarded various subjects, among which:
- pedagogic investigation about the foreign language teaching;
- foreign language teaching coordination;
- writing of didactic syllabi and curricula;
- assessment principles and criteria;
- organization of workshops, conferences, public lectures and roundtables with teachers, heads of schools, deans of universities to enhance the presence of the Italian language teaching in Guatemala among schools and private and State funded Universities;
- implementations in the MFL Italian language syllabus in order to improve the didactic offer;
- organisation of training courses for the CELI exam of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia;
- training of English students to take the GCSE and A-Level in Italian;
- creation of strategic networks among various educational partners both locally and internationally for the provision of scholarships for students and teachers in need;

I am graduate in Foreign Languages and Literatures from the University Ca' Foscari of Venice and I possess the ITALS Master's Degree in Teaching and promotion of the Italian language and culture to foreigners.

At December 2007 I graduated with success from the ITALS M. A. Degree in Teaching and Promotion of Italian Language and Culture of the University Ca' Foscari of Venice. The topic of my dissertation was linked to how organize an MFL interactive teaching unit in a class composed of students with different abilities.
At the end of May 2008 I published Mosaico Italia, a book on Italian Language and Culture that can be used with students with an Intermediate level of Italian (level B1 of the Common European Reference for Languages). This book aims to provide a didactic instrument to investigateItalian reality.

I added to my knowledge gained 'in the field' by taking the Master's Degree in Education at Birkbeck, University of London, graduating in November 2011 with Distinction. Success on this program entailed my being able to integrate effectively concrete work experience with theoretical knowledge in such a way that I deepened my analytical skills, overall.

Teaching Experience:

My professional experience has regarded various subjects, among which:
- pedagogic investigation about the foreign language teaching;
- foreign language teaching coordination;
- writing of didactic syllabi and curricula;

- implementations in the MFL Italian language syllabus in order to improve the didactic offer;
- organisation of training courses for the CELI exam of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia;
- training of English students to take the GCSE and A-Level in Italian;

Tutoring Approach:

think I am able to enhance the skills of low performing students by individualizing teaching methods and processes. My teaching style focuses very much on the outcomes my students wish to achieve by improving their Italian, be they grammatical, written or conversational. I am dedicated to helping my students learn and improve their Italian in an atmosphere that encourages interaction, listening, feedback and empathy. Above all, I like to make the process of learning Italian a fun experience that enriches my students' personal and professional lives through a sense of achievement.
The teaching techniques, which could be useful in a Foreign Language Tuition, are those in which communication between the tutor and the student is always is promoted. In this regard, mutual interaction and collaboration lead to a more natural learning of the language. This process follows a teaching method where the humanist-affective approach is used to practice the basic and integrated linguistic abilities while learning a foreign language.

Personal Description:
My name is Gordon age 49 I am certified in Computer Applications and Networks (CAN). Self taught casual programmer of 20 years. I currently offer tutoring services online via Internet-using text E-Mail, Video E-Mail and **Contact Detail Removed**. I can tutor anyone at my local public library.

Teaching Experience:

My portfolio includes my own self published training materials on PC CD-ROM. recently completed a KIOSK program last year. I currently publish my own training materials on PC CD-ROM as part of my tutoring package. I can introduce, and tutor several software packages help you develop your own applications in a very short time. Student should be computer literate and have the background knowledge of the subject matter they are writing. For example, if you are writing a PC CD-ROM driving course are you a driving instructor/Training Provider?

Software packages I tutor can include:

Building executable files
HTML WYSIWYG
Web Browser Plug-Ins
Flip Book Documents
Introduction to computer Games
Creating CD Graphic Arts
I can work:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday nights online as a guide rates of pay are 10 per hour minimum. Rates of pay are may be discussed on an individual basis. Student will need a computer using Windows and Internet Access to get started.

Tutoring Approach:

As a self taught casual computer program developer learning at my own pace has become very important. Computer programming is a very deep and broad subject. Under my guidance students can work at their own pace and challenge themselves as little or as much as they want. The good news is that a student can learn to write a computer application in a very short time and without four years of college. Students are not graded and no testing is required. More productive levels can be reached if the student has a good idea for a computer application. This idea could come from the work place or a hobby they may have.

I use my own screen captured videos and hand-outs to help students achieve what they want. Everyone has their own learning style some of us learn best by reading, others like to be shown and the rest of us want hands-on training.

I am not the foremost expert on anything, if I don't know the answer to a students question I simply tell them and help them find the answer.

Knowing how to write your own applications is just another feather in a cap for private instructors, business owners, B&B's, human resources, government, and book publishers. These are referred to as 'Vertical Markets' in the software industry (search 'wikipedia vertical markets'). Private computer owners are welcome.

I am a 27 year old male working towards a Ph.D. in renewable energy technology. I am lively and friendly and I enjoy learning as well as teaching.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently tutoring a range of students including Standard Grade, Intermediate 2, Higher, Advanced Higher and university level mathematics and physics. This provides me a broad perspective on the school curriculum and allows me to relate between the different levels and help students fill in any gaps in their knowledge base as well as progress into more advanced topics as their skills develop.

Additionally I have been a Mathematics tutor at the University of Glasgow for three years while doing my Ph.D. During this time I have taught a large number of students with varying levels of ability and helped them get to the standard required for their university career. I have also worked as a private tutor at University level, teaching thermodynamics and fluid/thermal courses.

I have further experience teaching computer programming to second year students and I have worked in Spain teaching English to young children. I like to tailor my teaching approach to the pupils learning style and I am extremely patient and understanding.

Tutoring Approach:

I am patient and I recognise that mathematics can be a difficult concept to grasp and is something which takes practice. 15th March until 18th April
30th June until 25th September

I charge £12 for GCSE level and below and £15 for AS/A level per hour + travel expenses if you wish me to travel to you.

I studied maths, further maths, physics and economics at A-level, and I achieved 3 A*s and an A respectively. I have a keen interest for mathematics and I enjoy studying it and reading around the subject.

I have completed 15 A level maths modules with AQA in total:
core 1, core 2, core 3, core 4, further pure 1, further pure 2, further pure 3, further pure 4, Mechanics 1, Mechanics 2, Mechanics 4, Statistics 1, Statistics 2, Decision 1 and Decision 2.

I have achieved As/A*s in all of the modules mentioned above and I believe I would be able to confidently help my students with any of the core, further pure and mechanics modules.

Teaching Experience:

Peer-tutor at the Warwick Mathematics Institute: (Term 1 of the 2014/15 academic year)
I have been hired by Warwick University as a peer-tutor for the Analysis classes that run during term 1 for the first year Warwick maths students. This role helps me to lay out my mathematics in a presentable, easy to follow format and gains me a deeper understanding of the subject.

Maths tutor at the Warwick Widening Participation Scheme: (October 2014 until present)
I have been hired as a maths tutor for two A-level students as part of a "widening participation" scheme by Warwick University, aimed at enabling students from disadvantaged backgrounds to succeed in higher education.

Maths student tutoring (Warwick volunteers): (Jan 2013 until present)
During the academic year I volunteer as a maths teaching assistant at a local school. I started out with helping younger students and then I was given the opportunity to assist the 6th form students with their A-Level maths.

Registered Maths tutor with "UK tutors": (December 2012 until Present)
During my holidays, I am usually pre-booked for tutoring A-level and GCSE maths.

Maths Mentor at Farnborough Sixth Form College: (September 2011 until May 2012)
During my second year at Farnborough Sixth Form College, I was appointed as a maths workshop mentor. My role involved mentoring A-Level students and assisting them with their difficulties in all mathematics modules.

Tutoring Approach:

In general students come up to me with a list of questions that they're stuck on, and we'd work through them together, but if a student is completely stuck on a topic then I am also able to explain it from scratch. It would be helpful if the student could inform me which topics they are stuck on before the session so that I'll have time to prepare some material for it.

I am a recent graduate of University of Nottingham where I studied Biochemistry and Genetics. I am looking to hopefully teach GCSE or A-level students that require help to get a better grade. I am currently not teaching younger students as I feel my skills are best suited to older students.

Tuesday: 4pm-5pm
Wednesday: Unavailable
Thursday: 8pm: 9pm
Sunday: 5pm-6pm, 8pm-9pm

Tutoring Approach:

After teaching solidly since November 2012, I have been able to further develop my teaching skills. To begin, I start with revision techniques, worksheets and make new, very detailed, class/revision notes with my students. After developing a solid understanding, I begin with exam questions as I have been able to collect a solid amount of questions (exam and school questions). Every lesson, I print out worksheets and notes for my students as well as give them homework. Essentially, what I offer are school lessons that are more detailed and focused than what they receive in school. Through these methods, I am able to thoroughly assess a student's abilities, increase them and hopefully better their grades. However, I stress, students must work hard themselves to achieve good grades.

Parents often ask me about discount, I am happy to discuss this for long-term students and 2 hours lessons

School Holiday (Easter, Summer and Christmas) - 20% off two hour lessons
A Level: £60 to £48

Personal Description:
Juan is a rare artist with a great deal of intellect and an in depth understanding of piano, composition and music technology. He has been linked to what he describes as a "marvelous instrument: the piano" since the tender age of three. Eight years later, he made his fist concert appearance in his hometown Estancia Santa María de La Armonía. Ever since, he has been a regular performer throughout the theater halls of Argentina, the United States of America, and the United Kingdom.

Teaching Experience:

8 years of one to one tutoring.
I have prepared students for all ABRSM and Trinity College exams including GRADES and DIPLOMAS with 100% success rate.
I also train other teachers entering for Masters at RCM and RAM. I believe in a modern approach to music learning that's why I encourage my students to develop a their own taste for music. I also give my students the option of start making their own videos here in my studio where I have all the necessary equipment.

Tutoring Approach:

Juan believes that people connect to music at different times of their lives. As you watch him work, it is stunning to observe how he can be involved in the details and never lose sight of the big picture. His approach to piano pedagogy is very unique, one which simultaneously combines music technology, playing, reading and writing.

As a piano tutor, his greatest challenge is to instigate a hidden and deep rooted spark within each of his protégés. He believes that everyone should learn at their own pace, and accommodates this by providing tailored programmes. He has been very successful in preparing students for the ABRSM and Guildhall Trinity Exams.

I have just completed an MA Photography in where I undertook a project which was an assertive evaluation on landscape photography, highlighting the factor of scale and the part it plays with both the picture and the viewer.

Using traditional and digital photographic techniques together with specialised optics. my work explored conventional landscapes alongside fragments in extraordinary detail. My work challenged the traditional view that photography is a science or art, demonstrating that it can be both.

Within two years I want to build on my MA Photography and hopefully study for a PhD in this area. I also want to build on my Associate status of The Royal Photographic Society and want to aim for a Fellowship of this organisation within two years by September 2014.

I have made some very good friendships in the area of photography who are of enormous help to me.

Personal Description:
I am a 22 year old female, currently pursuing MSc in Economics from London School of Economics and Political Science.
I am from India (Delhi) and have completed my Bachelor's in Economics from the University of Delhi. I scored 92.8% in my GCSE equivalent exams and 92.6% in my A-Level exams. I also secured a distinction in my University with 78.3% marks. In my A-level exams, I scored a 95% in Math, Economics, Physics and Chemistry.

I am a budding writer. I worked as a correspondent with an online social media website for 15 months. I am a very passionate and driven individual and I am forever looking forward to expanding my horizons. Currently, I am in the process of learning Spanish while also serving as the Treasurer of my Hall Committee (Bankside House, LSE).

I am very fond of reading and some of my favourite books are- "To kill a mockingbird- Harper Lee", "A palace of Illusions- Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni", "A thousand splendid suns- Khalid Hosseini" and "The Help- Kathryn Stockett".

I am an enthusiastic traveler and have visited the following countries- USA, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau and Mexico. Currently, of course, I am staying in the UK for my Masters degree.

I love making new friends and meeting new people. I am forever looking for new experiences and strongly believe that every individual I meet has something new to teach me. I believe the biggest motto in life is to be happy and everything else must follow that.

Teaching Experience:

I have a substantial amount of teaching experience. I have taught Economics to high school students. I have also been a Math tutor to children aged 10-12 years and 14-17 years. Since my course is highly mathematical, I believe that I would be able to the students a deeper understanding of the underlying concepts. My entire education has been in English medium schools and hence, proficiency in understanding and speaking English is not an issue.

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring style would largely be determined by the nature of the individual I am dealing with. Patience being my strong suit, I am happy to explain the same concept for the millionth time if so needed. My academic record has been quite exceptional and I keep myself updated on the newer methods of teaching and learning. I believe I can tailor my teaching style in accordance with what the student would be comfortable with.
I focus on relating concepts to real life experiences and observations which help to imprint them in the minds of the students and de-emphasize rote learning since then memory plays a crucial role in performance.

However, I do focus on making assignments which I expect to be handed back to me (flexible deadlines, of course) and I do give regular tests to assess if my student is able to coherently express his/her ideas in accordance with what is expected in an examination framework.

I am happy to give a trial class for ₤18.
