Personal Description:
I am an honest and reliable person who works hard. I enjoy travelling, skiing and cycling. I really love my work and have decided to become a self employed tutor. I am currently living in Lowestoft, but am willing to travel as far as Norwich for employment.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching English as a Foreign Language since 1994 and have worked in Malaysia as well as the UK. I spent eight years in Malaysia working in private language schools. In addition, I spent two years teaching English to GCSE level at a boarding school.

More recently, I have worked in prisons teaching English to both foreign nationals and local prisoners. I have also taught ESOL at local colleges. I have had some experience of working with small groups of children. My specialist subject areas are English as a Foreign Language, English grammar and pronunciation.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that each student has different goals and needs. Therefore, I adopt a flexible approach to learning depending on what the student hopes to achieve. I believe that grammar is important and find that many students request help in this area. I also believe that reading is very important and have developed suitable resources for use with both adults and younger learners. I also work a lot on pronunciation and conversation skills. Generally, a course will include practise of all five skills with more emphasis on certain areas according to the individual needs of students.

Personal Description:
Hello and thank you for visiting my profile!
I have lived in London for the past 10 years. I previously lived and studied in Milan, Italy where I obtained my university degree. For a short while I also lived in Lausanne, Switzerland, where I did some of my studies. I have tutored students in both Milan and London, face-to-face as well as online, and have helped them improve in the subject matters they struggled with.
I get on well with people of all ages and backgrounds. I take the time to find the right studying approach that works for each tutee to ensure they pick up the material as effectively as possible. My goal in tutoring is to help tutees understand and learn the material in the easiest way so they can improve their knowledge without feeling it as a burden.

Teaching Experience:

I have previously taught English as a foreign language, Italian and French to children aged 9-13, teenagers and adults. My tutees markedly improve their knowledge and manage to fill the gaps and prepare for exams or achieve the desired grade. In my experience it takes tutees 1-2 months to notice a difference and 3-6 months to feel more confident with the language, though of course this depends on commitment levels and the difficulty experienced by the person.

Tutoring Approach:

The most important thing for me is to find out where specifically the tutee has difficulties or gaps with the subject. I also take into consideration how a student normally studies to work out what approach works best for them.
I am a strong believer in using a calm approach in tutoring as it is most effective to help set in the knowledge and achieve best results.

Personal Description:
I am an experienced and qualified tutor based in London and I am offering One-to-One tuition to students of all ages and levels. I can coach you in preparation of internationally certified exams or simply help you learning a new language or improving your skills (grammar, reading, conversation, speaking...)

Teaching Experience:

I have several years experience as a tutor and private teacher for small groups, and I am confident teaching students of any age.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach varies depending on the student's needs and learning style. However my teaching philosophy is based on encouraging students to think for themselves, using real-world examples wherever possible. I start from topics the students are comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds. I use questions and examples to check understanding continually. I usually focus on exam-style or past paper questions in order to check, practice and perfect the student's understanding and technique. I also give a lot of emphasis to some of the less obvious but vital skills such as essay structure and technique, logical thought, and the effective use of numbers and graphs.

Personal Description:
I am an 18 year old Photography student at Bath Spa University. I did my IB Diploma in Bremen, Germany and lived the last 10 years in Germany as well giving me fluent german as well as English. I am a very open person, who is always willing to help and will have the patience when students just can't get there heads around a topic.

Teaching Experience:

I taught a few children back at my school in Germany, just as a favour when they different quite understand something which I had already done in previous years.

Tutoring Approach:

I am very open, I do however pressure students to a degree to get them to believe in themselves and to not give up as if they can't bring up the willpower to understand something it will make their lives even harder when it comes to doing the actual work. However if students try their very best and don't give up, I don't see why one shouldn't spend as long as necessary to get a certain concept understood.

Personal Description:
I am British but have spent most of my life in Latin America. I resettled in the UK in 2015 and currently live in Birmingham. I hold a PhD in Ethnic and African Studies from a prestigious Brazilian university. In order to be accepted by the PhD programme, I had to demonstrate exceptional fluency in Portuguese, both written and oral. My BA in English from the University of California, Los Angeles (First/Hons) amply qualifies me to tutor in English literature.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently tutoring in Portuguese, English Language and Literature (GCSE, A-Level and Graduate) and English as a Second Language (ESOL) in Birmingham and nearby cities. I taught English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in Brazil for many years. I have also lectured in English and Translation at a Brazilian university.

Tutoring Approach:

I always attempt to establish a rapport with my students to keep them at ease, focussing on the positive before going on to point out areas where they could improve. I am aware that, especially when learning a foreign language, students can be extremely sensitive about making mistakes, so I use methods that are designed to be non-threatening and non-critical, but always constructive.

Personal Description:
I'm a 28 year old vivid, enthusiastic English and Turkish languages teacher and musician. Languages and teaching are my passions along with my qualifications, so my students have always been content with our interactive lessons.

Having completed my undergraduate degree at Bogazici University, English Language and Literature Department, I had my MA degree at Royal Holloway, University of London, Department of English.

Teaching Experience:

Teaching English and Turkish languages to various levels of students and various age groups have always been my primary occupation.

I'm a qualified English teacher with CertTESOL Level 5 Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages- TRINITY COLLEGE LONDON.
I teach English to students from the beginner level to advance, special qualification English Exams such as FCE, IETLS, First Certificate as well as to native speaker, primary and secondary school students for Key stages 1-4, GCSE, A Level and AS Level.
Furthermore, I'm a Turkish native speaker entitled with a bilingual linguist. The same teaching areas, beginner to advance, GCSE, A Level and AS Level, for students who wants to improve their Turkish.

Tutoring Approach:

My methods are based on inductive presentations, more students talking time than teachers talking time and loads of interactive activities which I'm taught during my teaching experience and most importantly during trainee education.

It is never boring and never passive for either the student or the teacher.

I have taught civil education for a year at a secondary (high) school and this was followed by a year as an Assistant lecturer at a college where i lectured on political science.

I have valuable experience as both a learner and a teacher. Thus, this aids my understanding of what a student needs and the pressures associated with the academic environment. Having this understanding, i will be able to employ skills learned as a teacher and lecturer so as to relieve pressure from my students and ensure their needs are met.

So, that's me in a nutshell. I will gladly elaborate on anything further.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught and lectured at various levels of academia. I have a year of experience teaching at a community based secondary school. This was followed by a year lecturing in the capacity of an Assistant Lecturer at a college of education. This is further complimented by years acting as a personal tutor to academic colleagues.

Tutoring Approach:

I adjust my approach to fit the requirements of my tutee. I ascertain what learning style appeals to my student and i adopt that for the lessons. The adoption of this approach is due to my understanding that all students cannot have similar learning styles. Most importantly, i am always eager to learn new methods and procedures in order to improve my technique and approach to ensure my students always have the best experience.

Personal Description:
To make this brief, my name is Jasmine and I am a strong believer in life long learning. It is important for the path of developing yourself and allows you to reach your dreams.
I am from London and originally Vietnam. I attended James Allen's Girls' School in East Dulwich, studied Art, History of Art, Geography, Maths and Critical Thinking at A Level (A*, A, A, B, B).
I applied for Cambridge and got into Trinity College, the most prestigious college at Cambridge University and there is only 1 or 2 spaces for Architecture students. I then went on to study Architecture at The University of Nottingham and graduated last year.

I was 1 of 10 adults worldwide to be awarded the Engage scholarship from Google's Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute for Advanced Emotional Intelligence, Mindfulness and Neuroscience. I am trained to teach an 8 week beginners/advanced course for mindfulness and I combine my knowledge about well-being into my style of tutoring.

Teaching Experience:

I have over 2000 hours of one to one teaching. This has been over the course of 3 years informally for Art, History of Art, Maths and Architecture. In Vietnam, I have taught for 2 years English as a foreign language to students from 11-18 years old. My students have gone on to get into the schools that they wanted, land the jobs and do their best work.

I have also taught belly dancing at university, acroyoga, meditation, acapella singing and mindfulness for 3 years.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is rigorous and supportive. Depending on how lenient you want my tutoring style to be, it is up to you! I am keen on getting the results that you want.
I have always had to rely on myself to achieve the grades that I want, to understand each subject intimately and what the exam boards and teachers are asking of you - this is also thanks to some amazing teachers I have had in the past. I understand the challenges that comes with learning, the stress, the ins and outs of each subject and all the short cuts in between.

I believe it is important to connect with a student, understand them, empathise and teach some emotional resilience - key in achieving the grades you want. My knowledge in mindfulness is an advantage, as I have learnt tools that has been proven scientifically to increase focus, productivity, deeper awareness, calm and reduced stress. This is how you can reach a flow state, where it is enjoyable to be challenged in what you are learning, as well as being able to become more internally motivated.

Personal Description:
I am very patient and supportive of children of all needs and I am just finishing my training as a primary school teacher. I am 20 years old and my hours are very flexible.

Teaching Experience:

I am just finishing my degree to be a primary school teacher with a specialism in special educational needs. I have just finished working in year 2 for the last three months so I am familiar with what is required to meet the expectations for SATS if that is something you need. I am very familiar with children across the autistic spectrum and I understand how they learn and I am able to support them to achieve their potiential.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring depends on the child, some need direct and clear instructions and others may need to be supported emotionally as well as intellectually when preparing for tests or in their progression. I am very patient and kind to the children I tutor but I also want to ensure they make progress.
