Personal Description:
I am a recently qualified (July 2011) English teacher with four years of experience, teaching in secondary schools in Lincolnshire. I graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge in 2010 and, during my time there, gained experience teaching English as a second language and mentoring young people at home with special educational needs.
In my spare time I enjoy painting and exhibiting / selling my art and performing as a vocalist at various open mic nights in Lincolnshire as well as reading copious amounts of fantastic and terrible literature! I also love cooking for friends and family.

Teaching Experience:

I qualified as a teacher with Bishop Grosseteste University College, Lincoln in 2011. My training schools included Christ Hospital, Banovallum and De Aston. I taught English and Media at Sir William Robertson School for three years and then spent a year at North Kesteven teaching English and Communication & Culture with added responsibility in developing Key Stage 3 to support the requirements of the new national curriculum and GCSEs. I have also privately tutored and mentored special needs students under the 'son-rise' programme and taught English as a foreign language to adults and students in India and Romania. I have been teaching privately since 2015.

Tutoring Approach:

After four years of teaching in schools in Lincolnshire, I had a revelation! My favourite moments in the classroom have always been those quiet conversations with individual students during and after classes that often lead to major learning breakthroughs. And that's when I realised that, with only a small change, I could dedicate my career to being in this role. As such, my approach is very much student lead and I can plan sessions according to your preferred learning style, stage and areas of difficulty.

Personal Description:
I am 43 years old. I like being a teacher and I get true enjoyment from sharing my knowledge and skills with new learners, making them realize how easy learning can be and how much actually they do know already. I like helping young people enjoy learning and making learning easy for them. I am patient and adaptable and easy to talk to. I always discuss the needs of my new pupils very carefully and aim to build their confidence in the subject. As an Examiner with a well-known Board, I am able to help my students to maximise their potential using targeted revision and exam techniques.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a teacher for 14 years. I have always wanted to be a teacher. I have worked in several schools now, gaining experience from working with a variety of learners of various ages and learning styles. I have worked within the requirements of more than one examing board, therefore I am quite familiar with all exam formats. I have been a tutor also for 10 years with very good results. Students do like me within first session, gaining confidence and self reassurance that they are capable of a lot already. Only some issues need re-addressing, building on their prior knowledge. I have been an EDEXCEL expert marker for six years now. I am recommended as a tutor by Emmanuel College and Cardinal Hume School in Gateshead, as both schools know me well. Among other teaching positions I have been a classroom teacher at Lord Lawson School in Birtley and Whitburn School in Sunderland. I have worked as an intervention teacher (one to one teacher) in a few schools already, due to my extensive experience gained along the pas years.

Tutoring Approach:

Within the first session, I discover the individual needs of my learners, their strengths and weaknesses. Then I devise a plan to address the whole programme of study within the number of weeks available, so no topic is ignored. I work simultaneously on exam requirements, but also on skill development, skills that the student can benefit from, outside the boundaries of a specific exam format. Students find themselves forgetting the time, often engrossed in their work, mentally challenged and stimulated. I set short homework at times, so that students can practise independently on those skills they develop with me, being reassured that they can transfer those skills further. I do provide learning materials which I do personalize for each student. I am very likable and I do make young learners be at ease within minutes of meeting them.

Personal Description:
I am London-based, with experience in tutoring English Language and Literature to secondary students from the ages of 13 to 16. I am particularly focused on years 10 to 11 and the Language/Literature GCSEs. I am familiar with the AQA and OCR exam boards, and I understand the stresses facing many students at this point in their academic life.

Teaching Experience:

To date, I have been tutoring part-time, however I would now like to move into it on a fuller basis. I also have experience of teaching English to people for whom it is not a first language, and I can draw on this where some GSCE students may not always have lived in the UK.

Tutoring Approach:

I am extremely patient and understanding of the pressures facing many young people at this point in their academic life. However I will also work to ensure that they challenge themselves to get the very best results, to an aim to building knowledge of English as subject and self-confidence in their ability to tackle and enjoy it.

Personal Description:
I am a qualified English Teacher with a wealth of experience teaching in various schools in Bristol and London. I have the knowledge, skills, and experience to teach English Literature and English Language up to GCSE and ALevel. I am able to cater for a range of learning styles, needs, and abilities. I can also offer literacy support (including dyslexic pupils), as well as advice on UCAS applications, part time job applications, and essay skills tuition. I am an empathic, friendly, and caring person who is very supportive and approachable.

Teaching Experience:

I was first drawn to teaching English when I worked as a Nursery Assistant in India in August 2008 following a TEFL level 1 training course. I found the experience richly rewarding as I adapted to, and overcame, the communication challenges. I then took on the role of private Literacy and Essay Skills tutor for two undergraduates and a Y7 mentor for the Schools Linking Network during my Master's degree. In September 2014, I secured a place on the Secondary English PGCE course at the University of the West of England (UWE). I completed trainee placements at Hugh Sexey Church of England School, Michaelston Community College, and Sheldon School, which developed my teaching across all years from Y7 media units to Y12 English literature units. In my final progress report, I was praised for my excellent subject knowledge, ability to model Standard English, teach engaging and well-structured lessons, create challenging and differentiated resources, instigate a caring classroom atmosphere conducive to learning, and form good relationships with pupils. In September 2015, I was offered the role of Teacher of English at Holland Park School, a prestigious institution known for its creative excellence and academic rigour. Having completed my NQT year at Holland Park School in July 2016, I then took on the role of Supply Teacher at Robert Barclay Academy in Hoddesdon on a short term basis. Having relocated to Cheltenham, I am now working as a private tutor for ClassPeople.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach will entirely depend on the literacy levels of the pupil I am tutoring (any level completely welcome), and what exams (if any) the pupil is working towards. Depending on the ability of the pupil, the tuition will incorporate practice exercises targeting any areas that need improvement.

Personal Description:
I am a PhD student at UCL, currently studying towards a doctorate in Mathematics. I have a BSc Financial Mathematics (2:1) from University of Surrey and a MSc Mathematics (distinction) from University of Sussex.

Teaching Experience:

I undertook tutoring roles at University of Sussex and I am currently tutoring a degree student in London. In addition to this I used to run a homework club at my secondary school.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that understanding is key. I will use visual representation and justification as much as possible to provide a clear understanding of why and how we use techniques. I will tailor my tutoring to the specific needs of my tutee, and my time will include a FREE consultation to see where the student is in their studies and attempt to highlight any areas where they may feel less comfortable. I hope to inspire my tutees to see maths as a useful tool as apposed to a chore.

Personal Description:
My name is Leon and I provide training in website design and development - of which I have over 15 years experience in this field gained real commercial projects include those related to names such as Unicef and New Scientist magazine.

My training services allow you to understand all aspects you need to start a career in web design or web development - or to create your open website for your hobby or business. Additionally, I am able to help students studying at GCSE, A-Level or degree who are studying web design/development as part of the course.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught subjects of web design and web development to individuals at all academic levels as well as in industry, where I have delivered training for organisations including the NHS, Dundee Council and Halesowen College. Web design and development topics I have taught include:

* Web accessibility
* UX design
* Web security
* Front end web development - HTML5, CSS and Javascript
* Server side web development - PHP, MySQL and MVC
* Content management systems - including Wordpress
* SEO and social media for websites

I have also written a series of tutorial articles and cover features on the above topics for Web Designer Magazine, which can be found in shops such as WH Smith.

Tutoring Approach:

One to one tuition is the most effects for individuals with a specific need for training or tuition relating to programming because this allows sessions to be tailored specific to the learner in terms of the types of example problem to solve. This type of session would be delivered using the pair programming approach, where an example application is developed and adapted in collaboration with the learner.

My tuition can also be provided online - making use of Skype to provide direction.

Personal Description:
I am 28 years old and currently working as a Spanish teacher in a secondary school. I learnt Spanish as my parents moved to Spain as a child and so I am bilingual. I am also offering Spanish tutoring up to A-Level standard. I have my own car and I have held a full clean drivers licence for 11 years and commuting is not an issue.

Teaching Experience:

I have a lot of experience in Spanish tutoring and I am very confident in teaching GCSE Spanish. I work for the AQA and Edexcel exam boards currently so I have a lot of knowledge around how to succeed in the exam. I am currently a head of year and I have previously worked as a head of department. This included moderating work from other schools to support them in marking accurately. I have been very successful with my own GCSE classes at my school, last year I achieved a pass rate (C or above) of 93% (national average is 72%.) To date I have privately tutored 17 students, all of whom have achieved a B grade or higher, most students beginning on an E grade or lower. I am extremely successful in supporting students to exceed expectations in exams but in a way which is easy to understand. I understand an appreciate that Spanish isn`t easy for everyone and having learnt it as a teenager myself I am able to explain it in a way students understand better.

Tutoring Approach:

I offer a very fun approach to learning which is what I feel is the key to success in language learning. For those who are learning Spanish for fun/pleasure I offer topics which are vital to survive on holiday/living abroad rather than doing them for the sake of it. I am able to teach individuals or groups of people.

While at University I have served on the committee of the Debating society, where aside from helping students express their ideas, the training also often involved providing concise explanations of current events and related political theories.
I have worked with the veteran's charity Forward Assist, teaching political understanding and general knowledge to veterans to help them in civilian life.

Personal Description:
I am a friendly, approachable, History & Politics teacher, currently teaching in Bromley, Kent. I am very passionate about education and I find great satisfaction in helping young people achieve.

I studied History & American Studies at the University of Nottingham and the University of Toronto, achieving a 2:1. I also have a PGCE at Masters level. I also have A2 Levels in English Literature, History and P.E.

Due to my experience in teaching for a couple of years at a top independent school, l I am happy to help with preparing for the 11+ and entrance examinations, and interview technique.

Teaching Experience:

I spent my first year of teaching working at a top independent boys' school in Surrey, teaching History. I then completed my PGCE, working at two different schools in the Bromley area. I am now in my second year of teaching at Charles Darwin School in Biggin Hill, where I teach History up to A2, Government and Politics up to AS, and Religious Studies up to GCSE.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in tailoring tutoring to each individual's learning style to get the best out of our time together. I do this whilst also trying to create an enjoyable working environment to encourage maximum learning potential. This is especially important with younger students; I want them to enjoy our sessions so that they look forward to them and get the most out of them.
I have a huge variety of tried and tested resources that I have created and used in the various schools I have worked in. I always adapt these to the needs of the individual learner so they can be of maximum benefit.
I am also happy to set work to be done outside of the sessions, which can then be worked on together in future meetings

I am a recent UCL maths Msci graduate and I know how to get incredibly high marks on exams. My average mark on my A level maths/further maths was 92%. In a couple of the more interesting modules (FP1, C4), I got 100%. I continued this academic excellence into my undergraduate, my average was 82%, I did the hardest analysis / algebra courses.
Here is what one of my current students says about me:
"Joe has consistently proven to have great knowledge and understanding in all areas of mathematics. So far, my degree has required me to have a strong grasp of analysis, algebra, statistics and mathematical methods, all of which he has taught me in great detail. His enthusiasm for the subject has made our lessons exciting and extremely rewarding, often leaving me mulling over interesting mathematical problems that he has left for me to think about for homework. When I started with Joe, I had just failed my first year at UCL and thanks to his help, I achieved a 2:1 in the retake exams and am on the path to obtaining a first in my subsequent years. Joe has taught me methods that have enabled me to solve complex mathematical problems independently. I have never had a tutor with such a breath of knowledge, empathetic approach and natural ebullience as Joe. I highly recommend him to all students. " Hannah Michaels, 25, UCL mathematics undergraduate.

Tutoring is not a side project for me. It is a vocation I genuinely want to pursue to the fullest extent.
When I look at my achievements, I don't quite believe them: I grew up on a deprived council estate in Wolverhampton, life could have been so different. This is why I have applied for a PGCE; so that I may uplift others.
I am unique in that for a period of my adolescence (GCSE), I was home schooled. I know very well the challenges that home-schooled people face.
I was known as the "Ideas Man" in the maths common room at UCL: two years ago I gave an hour long talk at UCL on quaternion analysis for the The Mathematics Colloquium. I also helped a number of students with their own Colloquium talks. I am currently preparing a series of talks on relativistic fluid mechanics.
In my spare time I answer people's questions on math.stackexchange (my reputation score is currently 223). I also write poetry related to my mathematical interests. Aside from maths. I'm a huge computer games enthusiast (typical maths nerd!) and attend philosophy debates.
Availability:
My timetable is nearly full (12/16 hours of tuition weekly).
I am away from London: 23rd of December until 2nd of January.
Location is at discretion of the client.

Teaching Experience:

I started tutoring part time while I was studying in February, and I have been a full time tutor since graduation in August.
My maths and physics teachers put me in charge of mentoring AS students during my A levels. (I have three letters from my teachers confirming this, available on request.) Here are quotes from two:

"First rate physicist and mathematician... The tuition and help he has given has been really useful to those to who have received it... I would recommend him without reservation to any other student..." -Mr Ian Cunliffe FE Physics teacher, 2010; Central Sussex College, Haywards Heath campus.
"Joe has read widely around the subject... I can fully recommend Joe for his mathematical expertise as well as his ability to put across his explanations" -Dr A G Williamson FE maths teacher, 2010; Central Sussex College, Haywards Heath campus.
I mentored undergraduates in the maths department at UCL while I was studying; giving lectures on the provided whiteboards.
Five years of maths mentoring experience (10 hours / week) (Including university and college.)
Experience with home schooled students.
Experience with dyslexic students.

I have detailed knowledge of the demands of each specification for Maths and Further Maths A Level (AQA, OCR and Edecxel). I can also teach Maths IB and pre-U.

Tutoring Approach:

Maths lessons can be very daunting, with the teacher often moving on from key methods to difficult questions too quickly. One-to-one tuition is great because I can make sure a student really understands the fundamentals behind concepts, before tackling specific questions.
Rather than teach superficial 'tricks' to get answers, which often backfire in exams, I always give students a genuine grounding in a way of thinking about problems. It's also great that my students can ask the questions they've always wondered about in class, but been too self-conscious to ask.
I am experienced in providing custom-made handouts that cater to the individual needs of my students. The handouts usually cover things that cannot be reasonably tutored during lessons, and novel and instructive ways of solving problems.

Personal Description:
Reliable and qualified Maths Teacher with 20+ years of experience of tutoring individuals and groups.

I care deeply about teaching and learning in general and the teaching of mathematics is a particular passion for me. I am a secondary school mathematics teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). I have completed a BSc in Accounting, an ACCA qualification and a PGCE course. I am currently studying for my MSc Education degree. I have 20+ years experience as a tutor and 10+ years as a teacher. I have also worked for an acounting firm for 5 years and worked as a company director for 7 years.

My first session is provided free of charge and I use this session to understand the needs of prospective pupils. At the end of the session, I have a frank and honest discussion with the pupil and/or their guardians. I use these conversations to listen to the concerns of the pupils and/or their guardians and present an outline of my assessment of the student's areas of strengths and weaknesses. I also suggest a course of action to help the pupil move forward.

Teaching Experience:

I have been providing tuition in mathematics for over 20 years and have been a secondary school Mathematics Teacher for over 10 years. I have tutored A Level, university, AAT, CAT, ACCA, CIMA and CIPFA students in accounting for over 10 years and have 5 years experience teaching professioanl accounting courses in private colleges. I have experience teaching to individual students, to small groups and to classes of up to 35 students. I have helped four year old pupils take their first steps in arithmetic and forty plus year old students finally understand how algebra works. In accounting I have worked with 16 year olds studying accounting for the first time for A Levels or CAT or AAT and 40+ year olds who have working in accounting for a long time and are studying for their professional exams.

I have helped students gain confidence in their own mathematical ability when they have been convinced by the academic system that they are incapable of doing well in the subject. I have also helped higher attaining students to challenge themselves and aspire to become even better. Most recently my Year 7 students were the only gold medallists in the UKMT Junior Mathematics Challenge in my secondary school. They did considerably better than all the other Year 7 students and even all the Year 8 students in the school who sat the same exam.

Tutoring Approach:

During the last two decades I have worked with many hundreds of students and have read research studies from academics around the world on the subject of attainment in mathematics. My own experience is in keeping with all the studies I have read about this topic. The overwhelming majority of students can do well in mathematics provided they have the confidence, the techniques and willingness to work hard. Even after only six to eight weeks of tuition, all the students I have tutored have improved by at least one grade or one level.

I tell all prospective pupils there is no magic bullet or shortcut. To achieve success in mathematics a few things are key: understanding the concept well; understanding when and how to apply it in different situations; lots of practice in applying it in different scenarios and short, regular revision sessions. So my only pre-conditions before I agree to work with any student are: a positive attitude; a commitment to put in the time and effort required to bring about the improvement in their grades; and at least one ninety minute session every week.

It is important to me that students should enjoy mathematics and look forward to their sessions with me. To ensure this I use a variety of different resources to explain concepts to students and am a firm believer in using physical and computer based study tools and aides to complement the standard oral and written tools used to teach mathematics. I also believe in linking the mathematics that we study to the real world to increase students' engagement with the topic and their understanding of its relevance. I am very patient and empathetic to my student's needs and once they develop in confidence I encourage all my students to challenge themselves regularly. Depending on the amount of time available, I usually help students cement their mastery of the foundations of arithmetic and algebra before moving on to establish fluency in statistics, geometry and problem solving.

Personal Description:
I was born into a family of educators who instilled in me a love of learning.I earned my Bachelor of Engineering degree from Anna University India 2014 ,after that I have worked for 3 years in one of the leading Multi National Company called Wartsila India Ltd and presently pursuing my Masters in Electrical Power systems Engineering in the University of Birmingham UK.

Teaching Experience:

I have studied as well as trained the simplest and the hardest Mathematics which makes me appropriate tutor for Maths subject. I know the subjects concept, ideas and problems inside out. I can introduce Maths to real life applications from my experience and knowledge that I've gained. I can make Maths fun and can help to develop the core basement for the students. I can make learning relevant to student's interests, thus create more students who actually care about what they are learning.

Tutoring Approach:

I prefer to build strong and intense relationship with students, because I believe personal relationship is the key to the students success. The more closer the student feels, the more respect and consideration the teacher earns. I always treat every student same because nobody in this world is lazy or not capable, its the way that we find out the best in them is the key. I always listen and communicate early and often with parents, that helps me to map a better plan for success.

I always believe that lesson planning is important and this intuitively leads to student's success. For my session following points will be covered about the topic
1. Objective of the course
2. Introduction
3.Body of the course
4. Checks and Home Works
5. Conclusion

I'm aware of the UK curriculum and know about the key stages and the assessments. So I will be giving assessments through out the programme to check the student's development in the subject and the progress will be updated to their parents after each session which makes parents more updated about the child's progress and the same will make me meet the expectation levels of the parents.
