Personal Description:
I am a PhD student and Teaching assistant in Economics at Leicester University. I was bron in Italy and I am 25 years old.
Former dancer and choreographer I have always liked mathematics and problem-solving. I like to think of myself as a rational individual that tries to extrapolate the key issue of a problem in order to solve it...both in academic and real life!

My research focuses on Behavioral Economics and Behavioral Game theory. I have strong knowledge of the tools and skills needed in economics and a strong Mathematical background.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience in teaching both in academic and non academic environment. I have been a university Teaching Assistant for 2 years (1 in Italy and 1 in the UK) covering topics of both Microeconomics and Macroeconomcs, and a dance teacher and choreographer in Italy for 6 years.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to have a direct approach. My students at the university are often asked questions. They are involved in the tutorials and I try to make them enjoy their time with real life examples to make every problem more interesting, challenging and (why not?) fun!
I believe that the important part of tutoring is not to make the tutees understand the result but rather to make them understand how to get to the result, what is the key feature of the procedure that led there.
Sometimes, a critical analysis of a problem is better than a thousands exercises..

Personal Description:
I am an energetic and enthusiastic English teacher currently working at The City of Leicester College. Having taken the `Teach First` route into teaching, I have been judged as `outstanding` in lesson observations with specific comments made about the engaging and enjoyable nature of my lessons. The progress that students make within lessons has also been regarded as `excellent.`

Teaching Experience:

I believe that for learning in English to occur, students need the context to be relevant to their own lives and experiences something that I strive to achieve in all of my teaching and tutoring sessions. I have an extensive knowledge and understanding of the National requirements at both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, whilst also possessing the skills to ensure that students understand how improved awareness of the English language can have a positive impact on their future careers. I am in my second year of teaching, but the nature of the Teach First scheme has seen me establish myself within The City of Leicester College extremely quickly. I am viewed as one of the leading teachers in the faculty with the Head Teacher of the school praising my ability to 'get the best and more' out of my students.

Tutoring Approach:

I began offering extra tuition to pupils that I taught very early on in my teaching career, seeing huge benefits in terms of the students grades as well as their overall enjoyment of the subject. The fact that I gained a First Class Honours degree in Psychology prior to training as an English teacher also allows me to offer my expertise to A Level Psychology students approaching their AS and A2 examinations and helps to ensure that my teaching remains as innovative as possible. I firmly believe that every student can achieve and I see it as my job to provide every student that I teach or tutor with the tools to do so.

Personal Description:
I was only mediocre at maths until I was 15. Then a combination of a tutor and a new teacher turned me on to it
Maths has been my passion since and my teaching/ tutoring career has centred on those who really struggle(d) and often failed to grasp maths in a 'normal' school setting as well as those with learning differences often labelled as dyslexia, dyscalculia, Aspergers' etc.
My slogan:-' There IS a way for YOU to pass maths!
My secondary subject is Chemistry/ General Science which I have also helped people of varying ages to make sense of.
I have three young adults in the family and am well aware of the fears and problems people of all ages have with subjects like these that seem to be written in their own strange languages.

Teaching Experience:

I am a fully qualified, graduate maths and numeracy teacher.
For those at school or college, I can support students across a range from Functional Skills through GCSE, A level and professional numeracy tests test to get into teaching, nursing, medicine etc.
I have taught BTEC Diploma Maths units and Access to Further Education and also help undergraduates and professionals who have to do some maths as part of their degrees or other qualifications.
My adult students have included policemen, engineers, forces personnel, and weather forecasters.

Tutoring Approach:

Most of my students have a fear of maths - (many hate it but need a pass in it) - or have another talent (art, mechanics, whatever) and don't think anything like a mathematician or scientist!
I make a point of trying to put maths to students in terms that fit in with their way of thinking. I also explain WHY things are as they are in maths rather than producing loads of facts and equations to memorise.
I use colour to break up what many see as meaningless combinations of numbers, letters and other symbols,
Not least among my approaches,I show students how to read, interpret and answer maths questions and maths books; techniques that are very different from those people use in studying most subjects.
I also have many strategies to overcome any gremlins minor arising from dyslexia or other learning difficulties.
Higher up, I teach maths as the condensed language that it is and show its illogicalities as well as its logic, grammar and structure, which seems to help many
Overall, however, my aim is to get to know the students, their favourite subjects and interests and use a combination of approaches tailored to open up my world at least a little to them.

Tutoring Approach:

I am able to get the best out of students, by identifying their learning needs and styles.

Adult learners: I have a very successful and unique approach, which allows adults to understand how a language is constructed and which allows them to grasp the basics of a language and then 'play' with the language by adding new vocabulary and phrases. You will feel confident wiih the pronunciation of the language from the beginning, which is essential to make progress quickly and effectively.

What my previous students have said:

E - July 2012 - Intermediate Adult: I needed a quick few lessons to help me pass a resit at University, I realised this was a pressure on Sarah to help me pass but I had learnt more with Sarah in a total of 6 hours than I had in a whole year. I would highly recommend Sarah to anybody, Thank you Sarah for your help, you helped me pass with flying colours! E.

R - May 2012 - GCSE last minute help online - My daughter says " Sarah is really friendly and helpful and she gave me lots of techniques I can use to revise". Sarah has been brilliant at giving a late boost just before the exams, which was exactly what we wanted. We found her incredibly helpful and responsive and are sure she has been a major part of boosting my daughter's confidence - her grades as reported by school have gone up two levels in the last two months and Sarah has been a definite part of this

S - July 2011-May 2012 - Adult Casual - After having lessons for a few months now I can say that Sarah is a very effective teacher and has the ability to explain things in a simple and easy to understand way. I feel I have made significant progress in my learning and would not hesitate to recommend Sarah to anybody wishing to learn french.

Most of my work with the children was over a period of two years and was carried out under a government project which aimed to raise the children's aspirations and awareness in higher education. I have now been tutoring young children for over 5 years.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring ensures that the child's academic needs will be catered for. Working with children requires a great deal of patience and communication, both of which are my strongest attributes. This will enable me to teach children using methods that are suitable for that particular child and will allow me to teach the child at the right pace. My motivational and creative approach to teaching will enlighten, stimulate and promote growth and development for the child.

Personal Description:
I am a confident and enthusiastic individual, with an acute passion for teaching. I am currently working as a teaching assistant in an Outstanding inner-city primary school, and want to take a post-graduate course in primary school teaching, a desire much encouraged by my class teacher and head of school. As an experienced dramatic performer and director, I enjoy effectively using these skills to aid children in their learning, leading to a warm, encouraging and happy learning atmosphere. I rapidly and easily create positive, personal relationships with colleagues and children, and believe education should be a creative and inclusive experience for all.

Teaching Experience:

Dog Kennel Hill Primary School
Teaching Assistant and Special Needs Support
Oct 2008 - Present

During the morning session, I am currently working in a Year One class in this south London school and thriving on aiding the children specifically with their literacy, reading and speaking skills as well as exploring numeracy work.
I lead certain lessons including story time and circle time.
I support key groups of children within the class and am able to use my initiative to plan, deliver and assess their learning in order to encourage progression.
I have vast experience in creating my own resources using ICT, and creating artistic displays to proudly exhibit the children's work.
I have taken courses in Early Literacy Support, encouraging creative and inclusive teaching especially for children with English as an additional language and complex special needs children. I also have training in "Letters and Sounds" Phonics, and "A First Workshop on Autism".
During the afternoon session, I support a child in Year Two with Autism. I plan and prepare all his lessons, working towards targets which I and the class teacher have set for him; these include phonics, counting and social skills. I use music as a reward system for the boy, and his singing has greatly improved his speech quality and communication skills.
I have extensive training in Autistic Spectrum Conditions, undertaken with Southwark, covering various aspects including history, sensory integration and behavioural management.
I work with various children with complex special needs within school, including children with Autism, Cerebral Palsy and Galactosemia, and have worked closely with speech and language therapists and learning mentors.
I offer one to one support outside of lesson time in the form of music lessons for special needs children; I prepare and provide my own resources and find singing with my students extremely rewarding.
I am in the process of setting up an after-school drama club for Key Stage One students at the school, having directed the infant school Christmas play this and last year.
I have also spent time in Key Stage Two classrooms, focussing on aiding older children with their literacy skills: I particularly enjoyed aiding Year Six students in exploring literary themes and using appropriate critical vocabulary when studying children's literature.

Stage Coach Theatre Arts
Early Years and Drama Teacher
Jan 2009 - Present
I am currently working in the Beckenham Junction branch of Stage Coach: using games and prepared resources, I teach my Early Stages children elementary levels of dance, drama and singing, allowing them to develop their confidence levels both on and off the stage. I have written and directed several productions for the children to perform over the year, showcasing their talents to their proud parents.
Since September I have taken on the role of drama teacher for the elder children aged six to sixteen. Through games, improvisation and text work, my students are encouraged to enjoy and improve their passion and talent for theatre in an open and safe environment.

The Tutors Group
Private Tutor
Sep 2008 - Present
In contrast to my primary school teaching experience, my private tutoring allows me to help young people of an older age and greater intellectual development further their learning.
I teach English Literature and Language, History, Theatre Studies and Classical Studies, from Primary, to GCSE and A-Level, Degree level and beyond.
I aid my students in improving their essay structure, spelling and grammar and discussing key thematic and conceptual elements of their required texts.
I plan and prepare lessons and constantly assess students, ensuring they receive high quality tutorage.

Classroom Teachers
Teaching Assistant
Sep 2008 - Oct 2008
I received thoroughly positive feedback from the schools in which I temporarily taught in the weeks preceding my permanent employment at Dog Kennel Hill; colleagues reported me as reliable, enthusiastic and hard-working, and possessing excellent interaction skills with the children themselves.
I gained vast experience with nursery and reception children, thriving on working with early years.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that the teaching of drama and theatre studies is often neglected within schools today, often purely due to lack of resources or funding; my aim is to introduce drama further into the English curriculum, whilst also indulging my passion for teaching literature and language to students. My aspiration is to teach English and Drama to GCSE and A-level students, and I would be delighted to tutor University students also, having recently gained such first-hand experience myself. My teaching experience with younger children has also cemented my love of early years tutorage.

A previous student, John Idowu-Agida, provides the following reference:

"I find her to be a very kind and helpful teacher, always punctual and with a smile on her face. I found that she is very supportive and motivating. She is more than willing to offer her assistance on any sort of English task given to her, helping you in a constructive, precise and proper manner. I greatly feel that you would benefit from having her as a tutor as I have had." (2008)

Personal Description:
I am a friendly, relaxed and patient French-born tutor with nearly 20 years experience in teaching French as a second language.

I graduated as a teacher of French and English as a foreign language from International House, Green Park, London in 2000.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught pupils of all ages and levels during my career as a private tutor, and I provide tailored tuition for all purposes (help with school exams, conversational French etc).

My previous pupils included young children (beginner level), students (mainly GCSE and A Level French), adults (advanced French), as well as members of the United Nations (I was the appointed tutor for the Canadian branch of the UN based in Northwood for a few years).

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring provides solid grounding work on the structure of the French language (grammar and spelling rules, for example) to form the basis of a strong grasp of the language which my students can build upon at every stage of their learning. I use a wide variety of methods, depending on the student's personal needs, to ensure that my students' weaknesses in any area of the language are properly addressed.

In my opinion, learning a language also needs to be a pleasant experience, therefore I always try my best to make my lessons fun, interesting and meaningful for the people I teach. Please do expect to get a bit of homework to complete between lessons; I don't "drown" my students in homework but it helps keeping the mind fresh on what has been worked on from lesson to lesson, and it is an important part in the process of learning to get the opportunity to keep track of where the students are at every stage of their learning.

Personal Description:
Hello, my name is Margarita, and I would like to give you a little background.

I am from Spain. I am 34 years old, married to Dave and have a boy called Rio who was born in 2009 and now have a little baby girl called Samara born in 2011. I have been living in England for the last 13 years and we are now settled in Rustington.
I have been teaching for many years and the main language that I teach is Spanish, which is something that I really enjoy. Teaching my own language is one of my greatest passions and I feel extremely rewarded when I see my students' achievements.

Teaching Experience:

I have always done home tutoring (more than 10 years) but after talking to many of my clients and as per their request and after having my own children, I found a great interest in teaching to children since they are babies. I now teach at schools, nurseries in this area as well as family centres. I have a great number of babies, toddlers, mums and children learning Spanish through singing and dancing and I tell you what, it's so much fun, I am having great support and feedback and best of all, the business is growing rapidly.
Thanks to all of you, this company is expanding very quickly and I look forward to offering further languages and locations in the near future. In the meantime, if you are interested in joining us, please contact us.

Tutoring Approach:

The teaching technique that I use is based on the communicative method, which helps the student develop language skills rapidly without having to refer to their native language too much. I speak Spanish throughout my lessons and use miming, flash cards, real items, etc, in order to help children understand me. They soon start picking up commands, words and expressions. They are like little sponges and they love repeating and pronouncing words. They always want to learn more and are extremely confident. I set routine songs, expressions and actions throughout lessons and my children really enjoy them.
Teaching children is extremely satisfying and research proofs that they become more confident and do better at school. If you live near me, I strongly recommend you register your child now as it is the best gift you could ever give to your child ever.
