Personal Description:
I come from Georgia, small and beautiful country in the Eastern Europe. I am 26 years old PhD candidate of Economics at the University of Leicester. My scope of interest is in the Behavioural Economics in general, my research concerns behavioural public finance. I hold my Master's degree in Economics from International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University (Georgia) and BA degree in Economics from Tbilisi State University (Georgia).

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experience is quite rich. I have been a teaching assistant at the Department of Economics of the University of Leicester since 2012. I am also an academic tutor at the Realising Opportunities Program, where I provide the guidance in research to the students of the program. Intermediate Microeconomics (EC2002) , the Economics of Development and Human Capital (EC2061) and the Principles of Finance (EC7084) are the courses I have taught so far at the University of Leicester. I was a module leader of EC7084 in 2013. I have face-to-face teaching experience also, during 2012-2013 I used to teach Microeconomics, Linear Algebra and Calculus at Leicester Tutorial. I used to be a teaching assistant and then lecturer of Macroeconomics in Georgia during 2011 and 2012.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching approach is oriented on a student's understanding. I use various methods of delivering the content and the respective intuition to a student. The methods include standard approaches (such as Teaching of the theory using appropriate books and notes, solving corresponding economic problems and providing real life applications of the theory. Teaching Mathematics using standard and appropriate textbooks), as well as individual, student fitted methods, such as eliciting the weaknesses of a student in understanding and filling the gaps in that direction to make sure that a student is equally proficient in theory, its applications and deriving the intuition.

I was entrusted with the task of devising my own scheme of work which allows the students to develop a variety of skills in a realistic time frame, taking into account the varying abilities within the group.

January 2012 - June 2012. Doncaster College, Exploring Digital Photography (Evening Tutor)
I deliver a unit of study over ten weeks that enables learners to develop a basic understanding of digital photography, from image capture through to image manipulation.

March 2011 - Present. Doncaster College, Learning Support Assistant
I give support to students that have a variety of barriers to their learning on both a one to one and group basis. I assist with basic spelling and grammar issues. I also help with students' organisation and planning. On occasion I act as a reader and scribe in exam situations for a number of students.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a patient and calm approach to tutoring preferring to act as a facilitator to my students development guiding them along the way to ensure they feel responsible for their own learning. I am able to deliver tuition in both film and digital based camera techniques. I also have a wide range of experience using traditional darkrooms and software programs such as Photoshop.

Through my own photographic education I have collected a large range of text books and resources that students are welcome to utilise for written assignments and I have developed a number of teaching resources to aid students with research techniques and the composition of essays.

Personal Description:
I am currently on a gap year from the University of Glasgow to gain experience within schools to achieve my goal of being a fully qualified teacher. I am a very organised, sociable person who always invests time into people to achieving their goals. I am a very determined person who will commit to the job at hand and will not give up until the target is reached. I adore animals and am a very family orientated person meaning I have a very caring, sensitive nature.

Teaching Experience:

I have had degree level qualification but never officially graduated in Bachelor of Education Studies. (I changed my degree to History of Art and decided to take a PGCE after obtaining that degree). During those two years, I regularly met with a child I was assigned who had Autism and would discuss his interests and talk to his parents concerning the little boys progression in a mainstream school. I have also volunteered on school trips at local primary schools where I was responsible for teaching and supervising the children on the 'forest trip'. I am also a class rep at my university which requires a certain percentage of teaching other students what I learnt on a one to one basis with the lecturers. I have also taught adults with special needs in an extra curricular activity to paint alongside a fully qualified art teacher.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a relaxed tutor but will enforce strict goals and targets if the student does not show signs of progressing. I prefer a relaxed and fun approach to studying, such as creating games that interlink with the topic studying. An upbeat, high energetic atmosphere is usually the mood required however, for more shy, inward students a more quiet, slow integrative setting can be used so it would not be as overwhelming.
