Personal Description:
Hello.

I am a graduate of Cambridge University. I was previously at a successful, all-girls, private school.

I have top grades in a wide range of GSCEs. I took Spanish, Latin, Ancient Greek and General Studies at A Level and passed with high A grades. I have a first class degree in Classics and Oriental Studies (Middle Eastern and Islamic)

People describe me as friendly and sociable as well as organised and efficient. In my Cambridge college I held various positions of responsibility.

Teaching Experience:

I also have lots of experience as a private tutor teaching all ages and ability ranges.

Most recently I was working as a full time teacher of English at the National School of Aleppo, Syria. I had two grade 6 classes and 4 grade 10 and 11 classes.

During July '08 I taught English as a foreign language at a school in Dubai, UAE. I had my own form class but during the school day I saw 60 children between the ages of 11 and 15.

I have also taught Shakespeare-based workshops to English Primary School children and Japanese High School and University Students.

Tutoring Approach:

I am friendly and supportive as a tutor; encouraging my pupils to stretch themselves and achieve their best.

Although I am only young, I feel that I have the right amount of maturity to guide my pupils effectively, and I am also very approachable. Tutoring is not the same as teaching in a classroom, so I do not believe that a Tutor should be the same as a teacher.

Personal Description:
I'm a qualified teacher with 11 years experience in 3 different inner London mixed secondary schools as well as being a local authority advisor. Teaching Experience:

I have 11 years of teaching experience in secondary schools and currently working in a secondary school in Redbridge. I have delivered training to adults and pupils, and been an advisor for a borough.

Tutoring Approach:

You are in control of your learning so you will learn if I can motivate and make it fun for you. I believe that tutoring is about setting goals that you feel are attainable, discussing these with your parent/guardian is key in order to establish a prescribed route to take in order to show progress. I think tutoring works when you can see progress. I endeavour to help you quickly feel at ease and I work hard to develop your confidence. I will divide the session so we start with a recap, followed by the main learning outcomes and finish off with a feedback with the parents.

Personal Description:
I have completed an LLB Law degree and have furthered this by undertaking a Legal Practice Course. I am currently working as a legal representative. In the past I have really enjoy working with young people and I feel that tutoring is something that is underrated and hugely beneficial to them. Due to working with young people in sports I have a full enhanced CRB check.

Teaching Experience:

At university I obtained a position as a Peer Assisted Learning coordinator and leader, which involved taking on a group of first years once a week in order to go over their notes, help them learn to study, revision and essay structuring techniques. This allowed students to have a different kind of learning environment to that of formalised education in which they were comfortable with practising work and asking questions. I very much enjoyed this and believe that it was highly beneficial to the students that attended.

Working at a local football centre I have been involved in several sporting/coaching projects for young people. This has allowed me to develop different teaching strategies related to different environments; these involve quick thinking and problem solving both skills which I deem to be essential when tutoring.

I have close links to a local secondary school and therefore am able to have access to valuable resources which will aid tutoring sessions.

I offer tutoring in GCSE and KS3 English, GCSE & KS3 Maths, GCSE PE and GCSE and A-Level Law.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that tutoring is a very important concept for some children. A lot of children benefit hugely from one to one information and reinforcement; and it may be a far more effective learning strategy for them. I think it is important to first gain an understanding of where a child's strengths and weaknesses lie, in order to focus on the areas which perhaps need improvement. I also value a child's input as they are good judges of what they feel they do well and what they may need help with. The tutoring sessions will move at a pace that the child is comfortable with, and help with homework and coursework will be available. For GCSE and A-Level tutoring if desired essay structuring and revision strategies can be discussed and learned, as these are often overlooked in schools.

I feel that tutoring outside of school may help improve a child's confidence within a school environment, be this in the work itself or in class discussions and for them as a person. It is not always easy for a child to speak up at school, and if they do not understand this may result in them falling behind. As a tutor I am able to reinforce school work at a pace more appropriate for the level of your child, and allow them to develop and learn in a way that is suitable and enjoyable for them.

Personal Description:
I am a family man, married 10 years to my wife Mel, with 3 beautiful daughters. I have been tutoring in the South Wales area since 1992 after graduating in Chemical Engineering with 2nd (Hons) Degree from University of Glamorgan. My hobbies include wordwide travel, Triathlon, Motorcycles/Cars and anything to do with science and maths.

Teaching Experience:

After graduating in Summer 1992 with an Honours Degree in Chemical & Process Engineering from the University of Glamorgan, I set up my tutoring business to assist parents & pupils with examination preparation, who felt they were being let down by the educational system.

I worked as an examiner for the WJEC from 1997 to 2002 marking Maths papers.

I currently teach on a 1-2-1 basis or in small groups, usually {but not exclusively} in the privacy of the pupils home, in the following subjects:-

* Key stages 1 to 4 {GCSE} in Mathematics, English, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Engineering, Design and Technology, Electronics.

* 'A' Levels {GCE} in Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics

* BTEC Engineering, Nursing & Health Care courses, Paramedics, Sports Science.

* Degrees in Engineering - Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Aerospace, and Nursing.

* UKCAT Entrance exams to Medicine and Dental school.

Tutoring Approach:

I thoroughly prepare students for examinations using past paper practise to build up their self confidence and develop the ability to read and digest each exam question.

During the interim term time, I conduct 'student led' lessons, where each of my pupils is able to tell me what they want to learn; whether it be new material, homework assistance or revision of old topics.

I structure my lessons this way because I teach many different students of varying abilities, who are studying at different levels and using different exam boards e.g. WJEC, OCR, AQA, EDEXCEL.

Personal Description:
I have always been very passionate about maths right from a very young age ergo it has been the subject I have throughout excelled in during my academic life. I have recently graduated with a 2.1 in Maths with Business at University of Surrey. Having done A-level Maths (with over 97% in all core modules) and Further Maths as well as Maths and Additional Maths at O-levels, Iam equipped with a solid foundation when it comes to tutoring Maths. Apart from academic stuff, I try to indulge in different maths activities such as UK Senior Maths challenge or Senior Maths Team challenge (on behalf of college). I have also been a Business Advisor for Young Enterprise UK's company programme.

Teaching Experience:

I haven't got an official experience as such but I have been tutoring my friends and family over years. They have always recommended me to get into teaching since they say that I have all the qualities to be a great teacher.

Tutoring Approach:

My style is not at all fixed. Since maths has different aspects to it so I approach every student based on their weaknesses which I discuss on the first meeting. This means if someone has difficulties in remembering formulas, I work accordingly. If someone gets confused on how to approach a question, I adapt a different style. So it all depends on my tutee-which area he needs to work most on.

Personal Description:
I am 54 years old and I have been a self employed tutor for over five years. I live in Nelson and always travel to the homes of my students. I have taught students from 8 years of age to adults and all ages in between. I love tutoring my students, because it is teaching in its purest sense without all the pressures of teaching in school.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching since 1989. I have taught in local secondary schools, including more than 10 years in a school in Burnley. I have worked in primary schools on a supply basis. I have a great deal of experience in teaching pupils and students with educational issues, pupils with statements of SEN, both behavioural and educational. I have a proven record of boosting grades at both GCSE and Key Stage 2 SATS. More recently I have tutored and mentored pupils studying for their 11 plus exams particularly for Clitheroe Grammar School.

Tutoring Approach:

When tutoring my students, it is crucial to establish a relationship with not only the student but the rest of the family. This helps establish a relaxed, and workmanlike atmosphere quickly so that progress can be made quickly. I spend the first few lessons establishing specific areas that need attention within the subject/s I am teaching. I am very well resourced with both text books and worksheets specifically designed for each student. I am well prepared for the new GCSE Maths syllabus and provide text books for pupils taking the 11+. I set homework by negotiation, and try to mark it before the next lesson, distance and time constraints allowing. Where possible I try to liaise with my student's teachers in school, but this can prove difficult.

Personal Description:
Hello - my name is Dave. I am a qualified Maths Teacher and an experienced A-level Maths Tutor. I specialise in teaching A-level maths and coaching students to attain the top grades at GCSE level. However, I enjoy helping people of all ages and abilities to improve their confidence and understanding of Maths.

I teach Maths at the Redhill Academy, Nottingham, specialising in A-level and GCSE students. I cover all core A-level topics as well as Statistics, Mechanics and Further Pure. I have extensive experience of working with students studying the AQA, Edexcel, OCR and OCR-MEI A-level specifications.

I offer a friendly and effective Maths Tutoring service aimed particularly at A-level maths students and GCSE students who intend to go on to study maths at A-level. In addition I have considerable experience of tutoring adult learners who need help with maths in order to progress their careers.

Tutoring normally takes place at my family home in Gedling, Nottingham.

Lessons usually last 1 hour.

Please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss availability etc.

Thank you.

Teaching Experience:

I have considerable experience of teaching maths at all levels especially A-Level and GCSE. Over 10000 hours tutoring experience.

Tutoring Approach:

I have extensive and carefully planned resources for all the A-level maths topics which I teach. The student works at his/her own pace in order to build the depth of understanding that is essential to achieving the top grades. To a great extent the student is allowed to make his/her own mistakes, we can then tackle misconceptions and help to build confidence. Students are encouraged to ask questions to validate their understanding.

Overall my approach to tutoring is based around developing that depth of understanding and confidence in maths. This is broadly achieved by working closely with the student to build a trusting and supportive working relationship.

Personal Description:
Hello! I'm a 25 year old Physics graduate who loves helping students master concepts they once found so confusing. I have a very down to earth manner, explaining things in such a way that helps turn Maths and Physics exams into common sense. The feedback I`ve received so far has been overwhelmingly positive and I've become friends with students whilst at the same time they excel in their examinations. Maths doesn`t have to be a chore, with a little enthusiasm, effort and creativity even the most disenchanted student can become a whizz kid.

Teaching Experience:

I've been tutoring for almost a year now. I've taught maths and physics to year 8 through to year 13 for exam boards AQA and Edexcel. I currently tutor for 12 hours a week and counting.

Tutoring Approach:

Patient, direct, friendly, smart, simple, involving, calming, enthusiastic and effective.
