Personal Description:
I am used to teaching students of all ages. I have a first degree in History and English and a masters in Art History. I have been teaching successfully in London and Norfolk for the past 26 years and can honestly say that I have never had a student fail, whether it be for an entrance exam or GCSE, 'A' level or even at University helping with a final dissertation. I enjoy tutoring on a one to one basis and am passionate about my chosen subjects.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught at further education colleges in and around London as well as private schools mainly in English and History for G.C.S.E. and 'A' Level students. I am also an Associate Lecturer for the Open University in the Humanities and have been doing so for 14 years. My main strengths are in private tutoring in which I have been engaged for the past 26 years around London and Norfolk.

Tutoring Approach:

In the case of coursework for GCSE or 'A' level I am happy to have students email their work for me to check over and then have a lesson in person. With regard to working towards examinations, I prefer to use the question papers as the basis for learning as generally each exam board has a preference for the way in which questions are answered especially in the subjects I teach. English and History especially are open to interpretation. I believe the need to read around the subject and offer a wider knowledge than is generally taught at schools or colleges is vital. Regular tuition is therefore preferable, so that all problems can be addressed over a period of time.

Personal Description:
I am a second year PhD student at the University of Nottingham having completed my integrated masters degree in Mathematics in the 1st Class. In my PhD I am investigating the effect of rotation on vortices in fluid flows. I hope to use my passion for teaching in further education.

Teaching Experience:

My past tutoring experience includes both GCSE and A level pupils helping them achieve the required grades to attend their university or college of choice.

At university I assist in undergraduate problems classes to assist the lectures in answering questions from the students.

I feel my age and recent undertaking of A-level and degree examinations gives a less formal and more comfortable tutoring experience whilst still maintaining a high quality of tutoring and I can understand the problems and difficulties students may come across as I will have hit these problems myself in the past.

Tutoring Approach:

Since I myself have recently completed my degree and not so long ago my A levels I feel I have an up-to-date understanding of these examinations and the perfect exam technique as well as the required academic content. I am able to empathise with students and provide techniques for understanding which worked for both myself and fellow students. Furthermore having taken A level further mathematics I would also be able to offer tutoring for students taking this as a full A-level or AS-level.

Personal Description:
Hello! I am Rossella, I am Italian and I moved to London 11 years ago. Italian is my mother-tongue but I am perfectly fluent in English. I have a Diploma in languages (Liceo Linguistico, Mantova, Italy) and a degree in Economics and Tourism (University of Bologna, Italy). Now I am a full-time mum of two boys who are growing up speaking both Italian and English.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a tutor since moving to London, mainly one to one and also small groups (max 3 people).
I have been registered with UKtutors for 4 years now. Through UKtutors I have been teaching Italian to adults only, most of them beginners. I am very proud of what my students have achieved and are still achieving. Most of them only knew few words and are now able to hold a proper conversation in Italian. I have also been working with young people studying for their A-level and university students.

Tutoring Approach:

Since each student has their individual way of learning, I think it's important to discuss it at the very beginning in order to make sure that the tutoring is efficient and enjoyable. For example, there are some students that learn better by listening and repeating and others that need to write and read to learn the language; therefore each lesson is organised around the student's needs and learning skills. Both grammar and conversation are essential to learn and improve the language.
I also offer lessons purely based on travel, focusing on all aspects that tourists traveling to Italy are interested in, such as booking hotels and restaurants, asking for directions, being able to use public transports.

Personal Description:
Hi there,

Whether you just need just some extra help for exams or need that A in GCSE's or A-Level I'd love to help you.

Teaching Experience:

Teaching for 5 years in West London. 6 months in Midde East teaching. Experience teaching across KS3, KS4 and KS5.

Tutoring Approach:

From teaching experience I know what the main misconceptions are and use this to base my teaching on. So before we begin a topic I try to tease out any difficulties a student may have and go forward. For me building confidence in maths is one of the main building blocks to helping a student improve substantially.

Personal Description:
I am a Spanish native speaker and I am fluent in English. I have a Bachelor's degree in Literary Studies from the National University of Colombia. I am currently completing my Master's thesis in Latin American literature in London having finished the taught components of my course at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) in Argentina, where I was living for 2 years.

Teaching Experience:

Personal Description:
I am a mature student, who has gone through the primary and secondary education system with relative success. I am passionate about the concept of learning new things and teaching others. It is very satisfying helping people achieve their targets and goals, and tutoring is one way to accomplish that.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience of teaching younger students as well as students my age, or even older. With younger students, I have a younger sibling who I often help with their work, so I am accustomed to frequently teaching younger people. In addition to this, I've helped my classmates and school members throughout my educational career,

Tutoring Approach:

I am very patient and understanding, so I will have no issue with going through a particular problem or question with a student multiple times. I would rather they understand what they are doing than skimming through work just to cover it all. I am flexible in my teaching methods, open to the student's or the parents wishes. So I can help with homework, go through past-papers or teach them something new entirely.

I've been teaching Spanish, English and Polish for about 6 years now. I used to teach adults in a Further Education Centre ( Polish and Spanish) and I helped in MFL department in a secondary school in Leeds.

Tutoring Approach:

I try to tailor my lessons to learners' individual needs nad make it fun as it helps memorising new vocabulary. In my opinion learners should be immersed in new language/ culture as much as possible, therefore I always use videos, podcasts, DVDs and try to get my students to speak.

Personal Description:
I am a trustworthy, hard-working and conscientious person. I am a quick learner with an exemplary timekeeping and attendance record. I take satisfaction in achieving high standards in any task I undertake, and possess a methodical and organised working approach. Equally capable of working both within a team and on an individual basis, my communication, interpersonal skills and knowledge enable me to interact with colleagues at all levels within the workplace. I love work with children from nursery, preschool and primary school up to stage 1.

Teaching Experience:

One very special working experience achievement was with children y3-4 and y5-6 in a primary school. I was not only teaching Italian Language but I was involved as producer and director of Goldilocks and the three bears in the Italian spoken language which has never been done before as a movie.
Date: from March to April 2005.
Actors were primary school children, which have been selected from the Head Teacher and me. I have trained them every week from March to April 2005 to play on different set. (Drama lessons included). The movie has been filmed in July 2005.
My experience was not only as an Italian Teacher but director and producer and composer for the editing of background music and special audio effects. This is the first time I have made my first movie. (17 minutes footage).
Sponsor for the project and investor was the Italian Consulate of Manchester (U.K.). Very good reward and payment + bonus for the hard work I have done in those months.

Personal Description:
I have a Bachelor of Science with majors in Geography and Geology. After working in the field of geoscience for several years I wanted a new challenge and have a new passion for education.

Teaching Experience:

For the past year I have been working as an SEN Teaching Assistant in a secondary school. In this role I primarily teach maths. I also teach geography, science and English.

There is a wide variety in the learning needs of my individual students. This has given me an understanding of how to tailor learning to the needs of an individual student.

The mid-level GCSE Mathematics class that I assist attained a 97% pass-rate in GCSE Higher Mathematics. Two year 10 SEN students that I have worked closely with both received a C mark in GCSE statistics, after showing vast improvement over the academic year.

During the previous school year I tutored an A Level geography student. She received an A grade in her final exam. I also tutored two year 11 mathematics students who received a B and C grade respectively.

During my time in third and fourth year at university I tutored several first year geology students.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that each student has the potential to achieve the grade that they are aiming for. In a lot cases though their learning needs to be supported and nurtured in the right way to help them achieve this.

I aim to identify strengths and weaknesses that each individual student possesses. By helping a student consolidate their strengths and by tackling their weaknesses head on I believe that I can help them improve markedly in a short period of time. I also aim to help a student put into place new skills that will help them improve their level of independence while learning. These skills are important to learn and are relevant in many aspects of life.

Personal Description:
I am currently a Nursing student in my 2nd year of study. I finished my A Levels in 2013 and spent two years working in a supermarket and Science Lab.
I play team sports when I am also in charge of charity work and a qualified first aider.

Teaching Experience:

I previously tutored science up to GCSE level while studying for my A Level examinations. Then after finishing school tutored many other core subjects at varying standards.
When coming to university I continued tutoring maths and basic study skills

Tutoring Approach:

I believe tutoring should be individualised to the student and will take the time to adapt to their needs. I believe the best way to learn is to do and that everyone can learn when they feel confident.
