Personal Description:
I hold a Spanish teaching certificate from the Instituto Cervantes (the Internationally-recognised Spanish culture and language institute) and a first-class degree (BA) in Spanish. In addition, I recently qualified to teach in Adult Education by gaining the PTLLS qualification (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning sector), and am also trained in participatory teaching method (popular education theories) which influence my teaching style.

I previously lived and worked in Mexico and Peru and have used Spanish in a professional context as a freelance interpreter and for other commercial companies. In addition I am CRB/DRB-checked.

I am very keen to share my enthusiasm for the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures with willing students and will tailor lessons to suit your personal requirements and interests, whether Spanish for academic exams, work or travel. A consultation class can be booked to gauge your level.

Teaching Experience:

I have more than 2 years' experience in providing private, easily digestible, flexible Spanish tuition to adults, GSCE students and those learning for professional reasons. I currently deliver a Spanish course for adults in Chorlton and will soon be rolling this out into other areas of South Manchester. In addition, I have also taught adults courses on other subjects such as job hunting skills, CV writing and self-esteem/ confidence.

Tutoring Approach:

In my experience, pupils engage best with a foreign language when it is used in context since this brings the words and grammar to life and gives it a purpose. I understand how intimidating foreign language learning can be and make sure I simplify grammar and explanations as much as possible to make new information digestible. I focus on encouraging confidence in spoken Spanish, which makes the class more fun, but will happily tailor the classes to suit the individuals' needs and interests.

Please note that my tuition charges are flexible depending on your financial situation.

Personal Description:
Hi! I am Ana, a 23 years old Spanish girl currently looking for job in London.

I have a degree in human nutrition and dietetics, the Proficiency English Cambridge certificates and an 120 hours advance TEFL certificate. This summer I attended a course in the renown University of Nebrija to form people to teach Spanish as a second language and it was fascinating.

I love music, art, health science, English language, meeting people, reading, cycling and travelling.

My mother is a teacher and I have always liked helping my classmates with any doubts they had, so it would be my absolute pleasure to share my knowledge with who ever needs it.

Teaching Experience:

I taught English to children when I was in the university in Spain, and as an au pair I always try to teach my children anything I can, from art or music to reading, writing or helping with homework.

Tutoring Approach:

It depends a lot on the age as well as the subject. So basically we will talk it trough and try to work which ever way suits both of us the best.

Personal Description:
I am a practicing photographer and I love to share my passion with others to help them to take better pictures. I am the in-house photographer for Leeds Grand Theatre and Leeds City Varieties and undertake a wide range of commissions. I am also an Insight Guides/Independent on Sunday travel photography award winner and have mounted a number of solo exhibitions.

Teaching Experience:

I have delivered photography courses in a range of settings including schools, colleges and community venues and have been a member of the portfolio review panel at degree level. I also have experience of using photography with adults with learning disabilities.

Tutoring Approach:

I run a range of creative and fun courses, which offer learning in bite-sized chunks with plenty of time to practice and ask questions. Courses are held at my studio in Thornton, West Yorkshire, birthplace of the Brontes.

I also provide one to one tuition, usually at my studio, but I am equally happy to travel to a different location.

My approach to tutoring is relaxed but stimulating and is student centred. I endeavour to home in on the subjects, which interest my learners and provide activities appropriate to the student's learning style.

Personal Description:
I am a french student doing a MSc in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bristol until next September. During the whole summer (from June to September), I will be working on my Thesis and will be able to organize my time in order to give some french tutorials.

Teaching Experience:

Back in France, I had already a teaching experience as a Mathematics/Physics teacher for Secondary school level students (13-18 years old). I have good teaching skills as I usually adapt the tutorials according to the learning objectives of the tutees. For example, some will only need speaking skills in order to be able to travel in France, then, I will focus my teaching on typical daily conversations useful to get along actual speaking situations. Some will need more academic basics. Then, I will try to construct the tutorials with more complete tools (both speaking and writing comprehension, and expression).

Tutoring Approach:

I usually start by understanding the learning objectives of the tutees in order to adapt the way to teach. If the tutees is still a student, I will have a look at what he/she does at school and will provide some additional work or/and help him/her to complete some homework and help him to understand more deeply the french course.

Personal Description:
I was born in Rome (Italy) and moved to London when I was 7 years old. I was fortunate enough to have experienced what I would refer to as the highs and lows of learning. Having been exposed to a completely new cultural and educational environment at such a young age really helped me to assess the differences and similarities of teaching styles in both Italy and England. Despite the challenges I faced when learning English, I consider myself extremely lucky as I am now able to look back upon that experience with fondness. The English educational system has allowed me develop skills I was not aware I had, I really learnt the value of education throughout the course of my academic life.

I graduated from Coventry University with a 2:1 in Sociology Ba(Hons). My first graduate job was as a Sales Administrator in an e-commerce company, 3 months later I was promoted to Customer Support Manager, and a year after that I became a Business Development Manager and Customer Support Manager (Operations Manager to avoid the lengthy description).

Having moved out of my family home at 18 I have had a broad range of work experience. Ranging from bar tending and waitressing, to supervisory and translation roles in market research companies. In the summer of 2013 I was selected for the Fast Stream Summer Diversity Internship Programme which enabled me to work within the Civil Service Commission in the Cabinet Office and provided me with invaluable experience. I am fortunate to be bilingual, this has always helped with finding work.

I undertook a foreign language teaching programme during my final year at Coventry University, which would have enabled me to teach Italian professionally. Unfortunately, due to the pressure of my 10,000 word dissertation, upcoming exams, and pressing assignment deadlines, I was unable to complete the training. However, this has always been somewhat of a regret of mine as I thoroughly enjoyed the training I was given and would have loved to have had the time to teach.

Teaching Experience:

I have always tutored in Italian throughout the years, my clients have ranged from primary school children, to secondary school students, to adults. As mentioned above, I have a broad understanding of teaching thanks to the programme I attended at Coventry University. I thoroughly enjoyed my Sociology course at university and have continued to read up on the subject as well as watching Sociology related documentaries following the end of my studies. I would love to share my knowledge with students, whether they are struggling to grasp concepts, or just need extra support.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe learning should be enjoyable. It doesn't need to be complicated, breaking theories and concepts down in their simplest forms and relating them to real life events which resonate with the student is often an incredibly successful technique.

Personal Description:
¡Hola! My name is Estefanía and I am a native speaker of Spanish from Madrid. I absolutely adore learning languages and I try to improve them everyday. My motto is that teachers should never stop learning their subjects so that their students can get the cream of the crop in every single lesson.

I would say one of my strongest points is that I speak fluent English so I would not have any problem to switch back to your language if something is not completely understood, and it is also great if you have just started to learn the language!

Teaching Experience:

I hold a BA in English language and literature and I also have a diploma in teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE). Before coming to England, I worked as an English private tutor in Spain for more than 4 years so I have large experience in teaching foreign languages. I have tutored students from all ages, especially children and young adults so I know what teaching approaches and activities can work best depending on the age group.

Tutoring Approach:

My lessons are carefully designed to address each student's needs so please do not hesitate to let me know what your objectives are! Whether passing your GCSE or being able to chat with locals in your next trip to Spain, I will definitely give my very best to help you achieve your goal.

Personal Description:
I am a year 13 pupil at Sutton Grammar Sixth Form, a very highly ranked secondary school in South London. I take Maths, Further Maths, and Physics at A-level. I have great communication skills and I am told that I am good at explaining complicated ideas simply. As a sixth former, I do interact with GCSE students, a few years younger than myself, every day at school.
Lastly, because I have been through the GCSE system so recently, I have a great understanding of what is required for top grades.

Teaching Experience:

I have had experience in tutoring my cousin in KS3 maths before, during which I became a better tutor and better understood how to help others achieve.
In July 2012, I completed a two week placement at a primary school which I found to be a rewarding and I acquired a wealth of experience in teaching. I worked with children right from reception, to much older children in year six, helping them to understand things that would help them in secondary school. In that two weeks, I learnt to meet the needs of the individual student and worked one to one with them to help them understand what they had trouble with.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is a time tested one. As a tutor for a student, I will first ask you to communicate to me the specific areas that are of concern. Then, I will go away, make a lesson plan, provide some exercises for me to work through the student with, and adapt the lesson plan as the lesson goes on to fit the needs of the student to maximise their progress per lesson.
My sister tutored myself and others in this way and I benefited from it as you can see from my GCSE grades. I will always be involved on a personal level, as one to one tuition should be, although still with an emphasis on individual work, and being able to see what my student can achieve.

Hi everyone, I am originally from Turkey and have lived in England since 2005. I can speak fluent Italian, English and I am native Turkish speaker. I am an Italian High School graduate and I have a first class honours degree from Liverpool John Moores University in FineArt in 2012. Beside my fine art practice I work as private tutor in Italian and Turkish.

Teaching Experience:

I have six years of experience in private tutoring, I teach Italian and Turkish.

Tutoring Approach:

I enjoy teaching very much and for me it's very important to see each student as an individual and understand his or her unique needs, learning style, social and cultural background, interest, personality and abilities. All this information helps me to become successful in teaching. Languages are based on sound and they all have different melodies and rhythms, so in some of my classes I use music and melody to teach my students. I teach at my premises or I can come to your home to teach and I am also available for online teaching. My classes lasts 1 or 1.5 hours depending on the student. This can be discussed at the first meeting and a bespoke programme designed around the students individual needs and requirements.

Personal Description:
My name is Carol, I am 57 years old and have been a teacher since 1997, getting a degree in Design Technology with QTS.
I've taught at Central Lancaster High School, Millom High School, Morecambe High School and Lancaster Farms. Due to me having a severe back and neck problem, I started my own Tuition business, which I've been doing for 9 years.
I get on very well with children of all ages and abilities and have a great sense of humour.

I have 22 qualifications, mainly in Art, Design and ICT. Painting is a massive hobby of mine and I've just started to organise an art course for 8-12 yr olds. Private lessons are available for other ages.

Teaching Experience:

Central Lancaster High School 1997
Millom High School 2000
Morecambe High School 2002
Lancaster Farms Prison 2005

Private Tuition 2007

Tutoring Approach:

I have a relaxed attitude with my students. I find that the more students are relaxed, the better they work and they always get a drink offered. I sit with the student and work & if the student asks for help or if I can see them struggling, I will help them. Students don't like being constantly watched, so I have my own way of helping them, without putting pressure on them.
Parents are a very important part of private tuition, as they need to help and support their child in order to progress further.
I like to challenge them so that they improve regularly and quickly. When I have assessed my student, I set up a folder of work for him / her. I have all the up to date syllabus books for all age groups too.
Homework is always given, unless otherwise stated.

Personal Description:
I'm currently studying a teaching degree at University and I received top grades at A Level and degree level. I'm very patient, caring and good at explaining topics in detail. I also received good grades at GCSE level, primarily English and Science. I'm creative and I love to write children's books, my talents in art range from using traditional techniques to digital techniques and I enjoy 3D modeling and 3D animation. I enjoy mentoring and helping others.

I want to help others to achieve their full potential and I love seeing my tutees improve dramatically, it is a lovely feeling to know you've helped.

My specialist subjects are art, creative writing, English and IT. I enjoy tutoring English and writing skills, it is a passion for me that I endeavor to pass on to my tutees. I can help tutees with grammar and punctuation and general writing skills such as, dialogue, descriptive writing, using adjectives, improving article and essay writing....and more. I l also love editing and proofreading.

In terms of art I can help in most areas, I'm very passionate about art and my style is semi-realistic. I can help with drawing and painting skills, perspective drawing, drawing people, drawing animals, cartoons, manga. I'm able to give advice on portfolio preparation and sketchbook presentation, I can also help with art and artist analysis. I can also tutor digital techniques such as 3D modelling, animation and Photoshop skills.

I set optional homework. The tutee can have a go and will be based on what we have done in the sessions.

I have worked as a freelance 3D artist, as a Teaching Assistant, worked with learning disabled students and as a Private/Home Tutor.

Teaching Experience:

I have volunteered with students with learning disabilities teaching them life skills and art/computer skills. I have been put forward as a Learning Mentor at University, to help students with academic writing.

I'm currently working part-time as a Teaching Assistant in Art and Animation and I'm tutoring as a Private/Home Tutor with students of various ages and ability.

Tutoring Approach:

I usually start by finding out what the student finds most difficult and what they enjoy, I write all this down. I also create tutorial videos that the student can access and explanations and tips all placed either online or on paper. I sit with the tutee and go through their work and help them as necessary and find out what they find most difficult. I tend to go above and beyond and I endeavor to help where possible to help the tutee succeed in their subject.

I bring my laptop for some sessions if need be, particularly for IT based sessions so that the student can follow along.

Personal Description:
I am a native Greek speaker, having been born and raised in Greece. I had an inclination and passion towards foreign languages from a young age, which resulted into my learning English and French as a primary and secondary school student and Japanese and a little Korean as a high school and university student. I have a BA in English Language and Literature from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece and I am currently studying for my MSc in Comparative Literature at the University of Edinburgh. I also hold several foreign language certificates.

Teaching Experience:

I have previously worked as a tutor of English as a Foreign Language (EFL), teaching mostly primary and secondary school children as well as preparing adults for English language exams and certificates. I have also taught Greek to foreigners and elementary Japanese.

Tutoring Approach:

I always tailor my lessons according to my students' needs, strengths and weaknesses. I like using textbooks as a base for my teaching but multimedia and extra material is an integral part of my lessons, since they not only enhance the learning experience but they also keep the learners' interest intact and help them attain some original contact with their target language.
