Teaching Experience:

3 years as a teaching assistant and special needs worker at a variety of schools. Achieved outstanding results with ADHD, aspergers, dyslexic and autistic pupils.
Personal tutoring for young people in maths, music, English and French.
Trained as a TEFL teacher and 5 years experience working at home and abroad teaching children and adults.
Deputy Head of English at a South London secondary school where I achieved fantastic GCSE results and taught from year 7-13. I wrote and delivered schemes of work on grammar, English Literature (Dickens, Shakespeare etc) and English Language.

I have just completed my PhD in Creative and Critical Writing at UEA. I also have an MA (Distinction) in Creative Writing from Royal Holloway, and a First Class Honours Degree in English Literature. I gained straight Firsts in every module I studied. I also have a good Fine Art degree from Chelsea College of Art and Design. I have been a private tutor for twelve years, and have taught many children in that time.

I am currently tutoring in the North London area, including Tottenham and Enfield. I am also offering Creative Writing courses for children in the Sutton area during the school holidays.

I'm a 41 year old lady, and am an aunt, godmother and childminder to several children.

I would also like to offer the tutoring services of my colleague, who will also be working in the Tottenham area. His specialist area is history, that is, 15th century history onwards, with special knowledge of 17th, 19th and 20th century British history. He is fully able to provide support with GCSE, A-Level and undergraduate syllabuses, with a BA Hons and an MA in Political History.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught at undergraduate level at university as well as writing skills in an academic skills centre. I have also taught SATs to thirteen year olds. I have a PTTLs degree level 4 qualification and taught on an Access Course to adult learners. For GCSE, I have a 75 per cent success rate of my students achieving As and A*s. My other students, whose first language may not be English, achieve Bs.

I have taught AQA, OCR and EDEXCEL syllabuses at GCSE and AQA at A-Level.

Please note that I do not teach any Eleven-Plus or verbal reasoning syllabuses and that I prefer to teach older children (13 plus)

Tutoring Approach:

I use creative writing exercises with my students to allow them to develop their writing skills, as well as their creativity and imagination. This approach has been very successful with my SATs pupils. I also use past exam papers, model essays, and devote time and attention to close reading of set texts at GCSE and A-Level. I have also recently branched out into giving art lessons and I helped out at an arts and crafts club at the local school.

I can also provide Skype lessons and find this has been successful with older and university level students.

I have a friendly, professional approach and find I develop a real rapport with my pupils, who find their results and confidence improving with my tutelage.

I have just graduated from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School where I completed a postgraduate study in professional acting. I am offering both German and English literature help because I am confident in teaching both language and literature analysis.

Teaching Experience:

I tutored a GCSE student through their German oral and written exams a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I also worked as a theatre in education intern during my year abroad in Germany where I regularly taught workshops based on theatre and text.

Tutoring Approach:

I am really passionate about getting students excited about languages and I believe that the key to success in GCSE and A-Level is confidence. As well as going through school work, coursework and exam preparation I like to ensure that I include a 10 minute conversation in German at every lesson so that the pupil builds confidence in their ability to use vocabulary and grammar correctly. For English Literature I will provide help with essays, literature analysis (especially poetry and Shakespeare) so that students feel confident and prepared for their exams. I will also encourage my students to expand their overall knowledge of literature by reading widely and talking about what they have read. Depending on the needs of the student, I might expect them to keep a literature journal as well.

I have 30 years teaching experience both in the UK and overseas. I feel it's important to understand a students learning style and adjust lesson materials to suit that style whilst setting purposeful, realistic and attainable goals.

I enjoy teaching and deem it a privilege to have a share in helping others reach their aspirations.

Teaching Experience:

Between 1992 & 2010 I lived and taught in Hong Kong to a variety of students from Chinese medium of instruction (CMI), English medium of instruction (EMI) and International schools to help them develop the four English language skills. Assistance was given to help students progress towards their HKCEE (GCSE equivalent) and `A` levels, and in recent years the IB diploma, IGCSE's, and HKDSE.

Topics used in the lessons cover many of disciplines in the school curriculum, including, History, Geography, Economics, Biology, English Literature. Further guidance was given to help students prepare for exams, such as, Cambridge`s KET and PET; the SAT; and IELTS exams and common apps for HE.

In the past seven years I have been tutoring students in the UK to prepare them for the 11+ and 13+ entrance exams; teaching students at KS3, GCSE and A levels. Additionally, I am currently helping students with their dissertations for their chosen degrees, and proofreading BA, MA, and PHD papers prior to submission.

Furthermore, for the past two years, I have been involved in intervention teaching, which involves identifying learning styles and other factors that inhibit a student`s progress, and then devise strategies to engage the student in learning, to identify and then support their current learning needs.

I have a Trinity CERTTesol and a MA in English Language Teaching.

Tutoring Approach:

I take a CLIL approach to teaching, which means I teach English using the content and language taken from the student`s curriculum. My experience also qualifies me to teach English literature, History, biology and geography to GCSE level.

I am committed to providing students with assistance to achieve the grades they need by patiently tutoring each student according to their learning style. I trust that my student-centred approach is effective in this area. My one-to-one tuition produces noticeable improvements in student confidence, attainment and ambition.

I am 21 years old, calm, confident and friendly. I am very passionate about mathematics. I am very patient, especially because I know how much is expected of students nowadays.

Teaching Experience:

I studied GCSEs at Clitheroe Royal Grammar School for 5 years, and then I studied A Levels at Clitheroe Royal Grammar Sixth Form for 2 years.
I have tutored some of my relatives before, mostly for Maths at GCSE level, but I have also tutored them for Biology, Chemistry and Physics GCSEs on multiple occasions.
For Maths, I am familiar with the OCR specification for GCSE, and the Edexcel specification for A Level.
For Chemistry and Biology I am familiar with the AQA specification, both at GCSE and A Level.

Tutoring Approach:

Everyone is different and learns in their own way; my aim is to find a style of learning that best suits each student, and also to identify any topics they may be struggling with and work on them.
I aim to develop good relationships with my students in order to make them feel comfortable. From my personal experience, I know that anyone's ability to learn is improved when they are more relaxed. I want to ensure that the learning environment is suitable for the student to maximise their potential.

Lana was born in Russia. In 1987 she graduated from the School of Art where she studied Monumental Art. Her works include a number of murals which are still to be seen in many cities of the former USSR. In 1991 she graduated from the Moscow Pedagogical University of Lenin where she studied Arts and Crafts.
In 1990, Lana made the decision to return to working in Ceramics. She soon realized that working with Ceramics provided the best opportunities for exhibiting her talent and creativity. From 1994 to 2000 she worked as an artist and tutor in the studio of Lyudmila Azarova, a famous Russian sculptor. Later on Lana opened her own porcelain studio where she taught Art&Crafts and created her first big porcelain collection "the City". In 2012 she moved to England and lives now in Ramsgate.
In the last few years Lana has been able to devote her time to work as a full time Artist creating watercolour paintings and porcelain.
Her works are in private collections across the world including the UK, Russia, Australia, USA, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Israel, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland and Ireland.

With the breadth of qualifications that I possess in English, I am truly a specialist in my field.

Teaching Experience:

I am a fully qualified teacher of English (secondary trained), with a degree in my subject. I have eight years experience of teaching English up to Key Stage 5. I also possess an MA in Creative Writing, as well as a CELTA qualification to teach students with English as a second/foreign language.

I possess qualifications from Russell group universities, Queen Mary University of London (BA English - 2.1) and King`s College London (PGCE English 11-18) in addition, my MA is from Birkbeck University of London.

I have worked as a marker for NFER and AQA - I therefore know what examiners are looking for at SATs and GCSE level. Exam specifications I have taught include AQA, Edexcel and OCR at GCSE level, and Edexcel at Functional Skills level.

My teaching experience encompasses whole class teaching, as well as small group/intervention work and one to one tuition. I have worked with primary school children in Key Stages 1 and 2 (for maths and English), as well as secondary and students in further education, including adults.

Tutoring Approach:

I tailor my tuition sessions to suit my tutees. The first thing I do is find out their learning style, as well as carry out a diagnostic assessment. That way, I am able to ascertain the tutee's strengths and weaknesses, and we can both decide on the best way forward, with targets to be reviewed every lesson.

I believe sessions should be engaging and fun; moreover, it is vital that learning takes place. I will customise my lessons to the learner and set follow-up work, however the onus is also on the learner to put in the effort, and ask for clarification/additional help, as and when necessary.

I am 24 years old, based in South Oxfordshire and currently working for the Civil Nuclear Police full time Monday to Friday. I am looking to tutor in my spare time, not only to earn some extra money for my husband and I, but also as I have a passion for teaching and it is a career I always considered myself following. I have a degree in English Literature and Creative writing from Kingston University London, graduating in 2013 with a 2:1 BAHons. I have always had a passion for English, particularly poetry, writing regularly in my free time. I have wanted to become a teacher from a very young age however, due to financial needs, was unable to undertake a PGCE course immediately after finishing my undergraduate degree.

Teaching Experience:

I have completed two weeks work experience in a primary school in North Wales where I helped with the reception and year one classes. I was tasked with helping the children with all their work, from spelling and maths, to reading and writing. I would be willing, as a tutor, to help primary school age children with all subjects; from 11+ I would be more suited to English Literature or English Language however I am willing to discuss the child's needs and am happy to help with pre-GCSE maths, science or history also. I regularly check Undergraduate level essays for grammatical, punctuation and spelling errors for my two sisters in law, one of whom is studying War Studies and the other Primary Teaching. When in my late teens I would read with a young boy every week to help him improve.

Tutoring Approach:

Though I have never been employed as a tutor previously, I do have experience working with children and young adults, as well as a keen eye for detail. I am extremely patient and willing to persevere to find the learning method which works best for the child or young adult; I have experience in this with my youngest sister in law, who is just 16, whom I have been helping with her GCSE chemistry; chemistry is certainly not my subject, however I took time to read through her text books and her work, to ensure I knew exactly what she needed to do, before helping her to find a way to understand herself. I appreciate that not all subjects come easily to every individual and that, though I may have a passionate love of English, not everyone will share that and so, when tutoring anyone I should not be telling them that English is great - that is just my opinion; instead, I should be helping them to access it, to understand it better, and making it a little easier for them in the process. If, on top of that, they come to love the subject also, that is great; if not, that is fine too.
I would always propose that I meet once with the parents,and child or young adult, free of charge, to discuss the exact requirements: That way I can come to the first tutoring session knowing what needs improving, where my help is most needed and, also, how I think the tutee needs to taught - do they find the subject boring? In which case I need to show them ways in which it can become more interesting, even fun. Do they find the subject really difficult? In which case we need to find ways to make it more accessible and less daunting. I also can leave the fist session knowing exactly how the parents or guardians want me to tutor their child - do you want me to set my own tasks and homework for the tutee to help improve the weaker aspects of their work? Do you want me to help them with work they are being set in school, perhaps a specific text? All of this will help ensure that both the tutee and I get the most out of the time we spend together.

I am a graduate of University of Oxford, having obtained a degree in English Language and Literature there. While I have an excellent academic track-record, I have always balanced my work with a wide array of interests. A keen sportsman, I was captain of the College 1st XV rugby team at Oxford, all the while directing plays, involving myself in charity work, and publishing many of my own poems in newspapers. As such, I believe I could offer tutees a rounded, holistic approach to learning, encouraging them to develop their broader interests as well as being an intellectually rigorous tutor.

Teaching Experience:

In terms of one-on-one tuition, I have over 150 hours' experience tutoring English and History for GCSE and A-Level. A parent of a recent tutee commented about my teaching: "James is a very impressive man - articulate, personable and straightforward." Another parent, to whose child I tutored English, remarked: "James is professional, patient and hardworking. He is well prepared for each lesson and my son is always looking forward to the next one. I learned this most of all during my time at Oxford, and as a result my approach to teaching would certainly not be prescriptive or narrow. This also requires tailoring the delivery and style of lessons to the character of each student, identifying their interests and making the educational material fit in with these. I tutored my niece for the January 2017 iGCSE maths exam, mainly because she did not have a good teacher. With my help, she obtained an A*. I also tutored her for her additional maths and physics iGCSE, which she took in July 2017

Tutoring Approach:

I like to go through the whole course so the students are completely prepared for the exam. In addition, if there is time, I like to explain some concepts by going beyond the course (especially maths) so that the student is able to fully grasp these concepts. I inform them of mistakes that may be common with my peers when doing the exams, and as a result they are prepared for their exams. I also tend to focus on any topics that the student feels that they particularly struggle on, and provide them with plenty of practice questions thus ensuring the exam technique is correct.
